The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride
Chapter 262: Was that Nathaniel?

Chapter 262: Was that Nathaniel?

"So did you do it?" Gertrude asked as Nathaniel walked inside the room where she was held captive.

"What do you mean?" Nathaniel asked, confused at her sudden question.

"You know very well what I mean. Did you go and kill that vampire prince to save your so-called princess? The princess who you claim to love," Gertrude asked, Nathaniel didn’t answer her.

Rather he went to the machine and turned it off, making her raise her brows.

"You are going to let me go?" She asked. It was her turn to be confused now, and Nathaniel shrugged.

"I don’t have any reason to keep you here. It’s not like you are worth any information. You are as useless as a dead body to me. So why would I hold you captive?

I don’t want more blood on my hands than there already is. We already have to make a report on why we attacked the waters with sirens in them when we were trying to protect Elliana from drowning," Nathaniel sat in his seat, closing his eyes.

He looked tired.

But more than that, he looked helpless and hopeless. Gertrude looked at the man in front of her and felt a little sympathy clouding her heart.

Anyone is bound to become rebellious when he is treated like everyone treats him.

Nathaniel was on another level and powerful when it came to witches because he had the powers of both. Everyone was scared of him, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t badmouth him and spread nasty rumors about him.

His fate was somewhat similar to Sebastian’s. Sebastian was different because he was an abomination and threat to his own species, and Nathaniel wasn’t accepted by the world because he was a rare mixed species who survived when he shouldn’t have.

Though dark and white species aren’t exactly different. They are decided upon by the way they use their powers and then how they continue their clans since the way they perform magic and their rituals is at a completely different level.

It started with the time of Azrael and Azura, and now they were taken as a completely different species.

"Take the book with you. It’s useless to me, and I am sure just like you, no dark witch is going to help us. So what’s the use of keeping it with us?" Nathaniel smiled at the witch.

"Maybe Elliana can. She is a dark witch too. Didn’t I tell you earlier? If you take the book to her, you can also confirm if she is a dark witch or not," Gertrude said, and Nathaniel smiled, the smirk etching on his face immediately making Gertrude realize what kind of sin she committed.

"You are right. I can do that," Nathaniel clicked his fingers, and the magical machine started again, making Gertrude’s eyes widen at the high intensity.

"Y-you tricked me!" She seethed through her pain as blood started flowing out of her ears and eyes, blurring her vision, and Nathaniel shrugged.

"I didn’t trick you, Gertrude. I stayed true to my words. Didn’t I say that I intend to prove exactly what kind of mixed breed I am? I gave you a chance to run away as a good white witch, but I had to satisfy my dark side too," Nathaniel grinned.

"That’s why I used that opportunity to gain some sympathy and get my way around it.

These are some of the skills that I picked from my princess. Isn’t she great?" Nathaniel smiled

There was no hint of remorse on his face as he saw Gertrude bleeding to death, her eyes sinking back into their sockets as her skin shrunk almost stuck to her bones.

He smiled before picking up the ancient book, letting his machine suck every ounce of energy inside her until she is rendered to nothing but a decaying human.

He will ensure to send this body to the dark witches with a sweet little note too.

After his work in the room, he locked the room so that no one would go close to the machine and hurt themselves as he walked back to the ice mansion and his office room.

Kadakali immediately walked to him as soon as he entered his office.

"What am I hearing?" She asked.

"How would I know that?" He rolled his eyes.

"You went to the royal vampire kingdom? I heard a prince is killed there," Kadakali asked, but rather than answering her, he played with his paperweight.

"So what? He deserved to die," Nathaniel said.

"Deserved to die? That’s what you have to say for the sin you committed?" She asked, and Nathaniel gritted his teeth.

"It’s not a sin if I am punishing a person who dared to threaten Elliana, making her almost lose it," Nathaniel said, and Kadakali massaged her forehead.

"Have you lost it? You can’t just go to the vampire Kingdom to kill a prince. What if they had seen you? What would you have done?" Kadakali asked, but Nathaniel just turned around and sighed.

"Gertrude said that Elliana might be able to help us read this ancient book. It might be because she has siren powers locked inside her," Nathaniel said, hiding the fact that it might be because Elliana was a dark witch herself, a truth that Azrael hid from everyone.

He will have to find the truth himself and confirm it. If Elliana is a dark witch, he will have to save her from all the dark objects and rituals that can increase her powers’ attraction to dark methods.

He was afraid of teaching her magic, but now was the time he had to teach her white witches’ magic so that she never resorts to using dark magic even in her wildest dreams. Nathaniel sighed, moving his index finger on the hardcover of the book.

"That’s not the answer to my question, Nathaniel. I asked you why you dared to go to the vampire Kingdom and risk it all. Do you know what kind of trouble even Elliana can get into because of your stupidity?" Kadakali held Nathaniel’s hand, forcing him to look into her eyes.

"Who told you I went there?" Nathaniel asked.

"Does it matter?"

"Yes, it does,"

"It was Prakrith. She said she saw you looking at what was happening in the kingdom with glaring ice-blue eyes, and you vanished immediately," Kadakali said.

"You are always on about how you will kill, and make everything disappear that will come into Elliana’s way or try to harm her, so we thought you were the person behind the prince’s vanishing," Kadakali said.

"I said it won’t be a sin if I punish someone. It doesn’t mean I went there to punish him. I was indeed thinking of going there. There’s no doubt about it. But right when I was about to go there, I got a link call from Azrael, and I returned to talk to her. She wanted to know how long the report was.

I looked again through the crystal ball and some other vampire prince was helping Elliana and promising her that he would save her. Since there was nothing to worry about, I got into the making reports immediately," Nathaniel said.

And Kadakali who had thought he was the one who killed that prince, walked out of the room without saying anything.

If he wasn’t the one who killed the prince, then who was it? She thought.

Elliana walked inside the room once Sebastian left to have another meeting with his grandfather to inform him about the attack last night and every piece of information he got from Maze.

She sat on the bed before lying on her back, a small smile appearing on her face.

She held no remorse for her actions. She didn’t need to. Anyone who will go against Mr. Marino would meet the same fate. She can take the humiliation against her, not against her husband.

That’s why anyone who wants her husband dead should die a cruel death. She sighed, smiling what exactly happened last night.
