Chapter 259: Who killed the Prince?

*Knock* *knock* *knock*

Someone violently knocked on the door, and Elliana rubbed her eyes to shoo away the sleep.

She looked at the left side of the bed, the cold side of the bed indicating that Mr. Marino was still not back yet.

She looked at the time, and it was 2:30 in the morning.

What the hell? Why would someone knock on the door at this time? Was this some kind of vampire tradition that she didn’t know of?

Elliana got down from the bed.

She looked through the peeping hole and when she noticed it was the maid, she sighed and opened the door.

"What is it?" She asked.

"The king has asked everyone to gather in the hall. Please come as soon as you can. It’s something related to the securities," The maid said, only saying the part she was allowed to say to the human princess.

"Oh, okay," Elliana closed the door and quickly changed into a decent olive green dress that reached her mid-thighs before rushing downstairs quickly.

As soon as Elliana walked to the main hall, Sebastian looked at her, his brows knitting when he saw her wearing a scarf even at night.

She was really something, wasn’t she? Even at this time, she wanted to look decent and presentable when most of them were barely dressed.

He walked to her and was about to ask her about it when Abramo walked to the center of the hall, and everyone looked at him, wanting to know what it was that made him call everyone at this time of night.

"Seriously, Grandpa. It better be important," Scarlet walked to the hall, her dress soaked in human blood which was like a present to her for her birthday, and Sebastian quickly turned Elliana around, hiding her vision of Scarlet, a scowl appearing on his face.

"And for some reason, you didn’t think about changing before coming here?" Giotto said, his gaze shifting to Sebastian, and then at the human girl who was pressed into his chest, making him sigh.

"Dad, I was enjoying my feast when we were called here. They didn’t say anything about what it was, and I didn’t know the human would be here too, okay? Besides, she is living with vampires now. I am sure she must be used to it, knowing how our little brother Sebastian is when it comes to blood, no?" Scarlet wiped the blood on her face and neck from the wet cloth that a maid brought for her.

"Was her presence really necessary? She is just a human. What would she have done?" Freya asked, feeling pity for the girl and Sebastian pulled Elliana even closer into his chest before he opened his overcoat and wrapped it around her protectively.

Vincenzo looked at him as he leaned on one of the pillars, unsure of what this was all about, his expression bored.

"I know that she is the last suspect in the crime, but she is a family now. Her presence isn’t important when it comes to interrogation, but her presence is definitely important when it comes to having her participate in the family issues," Aubrey answered Freya, and she sighed before nodding.

"Can we come straight to the point already? Is there really a reason we have been called here?" Santo yawned, and Abramo thinned his lips before he looked at the entrance of the hall from where the second royal family walked inside.

"So even the second royal family was invited," Victoria scoffed, and the family members nodded at everyone before looking at Sebastian warily.

"It’s him! He is the monster here! He is the only one who had problems with our family and always looked down upon us," The lady from the second royal family shouted, pointing her fingers at Sebastian, who quirked his brows and looked at her with dark eyes.

"If I were you I would keep control over my words. I can’t be the bigger person all the time. What if I lose my temper and-" Sebastian paused.

He was about to give the lady a good threat that would’ve shut her up completely, but when Elliana’s hand tightened around his shirt as if she was afraid of all the vampires and overwhelmed with all the anger and annoyance in the hall, he sighed and raised his hand, patting the back of her head softly to calm her down.

He sighed. She was really confusing sometimes. So she didn’t have a problem cutting the rogue vampires into two but now is afraid of some harsh words?

Then again, maybe it was her cuteness that made him attracted to her so much. He took a deep breath and looked at his grandfather, his indication clear - Get this over with whatever drama it was so that he could take his wife back.

"Since everyone is here now, I will come straight to the point now. Something in this palace that has never happened before has happened today. We are still looking for more clues and evidence to know if it’s true or not, but so far from what we have collected and the second royal family as described, we are afraid -" Abramo paused, still in disbelief.

"Afraid of what, grandpa? What exactly happened?" Angelo asked.

"We are afraid that Prince Harry is nowhere to be found. And since we got his severed hand in the gardens behind the palace, we are afraid that he is no more. Either he was attacked by someone who took him with himself or he is dead," Abramo said, and Sebastian’s hand on Elliana’s forehead paused for a brief second.

"He is not dead! He is murdered! Someone killed him! Who would dare to kill the second prince of the royal family?! It’s this monster. He is the only one who had problems with him!" Harry’s mother shouted as two ladies held her back, stopping her from jumping to Sebastian and slapping him.

"I am the one who killed him? I was with the family the entire time. Use some sense before opening that trash mouth of yours," Sebastian’s voice was low and void of emotions.

"Why do I think that? It’s because you are the only monster here who drinks vampire blood and eats their organs! You little piece of shit. I won’t forgive you?! I curse you and your -"

"Jennifer!" Abramo shouted, his dominating power immediately shutting the woman as she whimpered in her husband’s arms.

"Please forgive her, King Abramo. But I hope you can understand what this mother is going through who has lost her only child," Harry’s father said, and everyone quietened.

To say everyone was shocked would be an understatement. They were looking at each other, unsure of who could be daring enough to enter the royal palace and commit a heinous crime like this.

It wasn’t only about the death of Harry any more. It was about the entire family’s security.

"Everyone is being questioned and all security cameras are being checked. Till then each of you needs to report where they were when this happened," Abramo ordered and turned around before he paused.

"If anyone has any suspicion on anyone, even if that person is a family member, it would be better if you speak up, because if I found out about it later, things will get complicated. Elliana, you stay out of it, dear," Abramo said as he walked towards the security leader.

Everyone was surprised, but there were three people who were most affected by this news, even more than the royal family.

First, Sebastian,who wanted more information about the rogue vampires that Harry was preparing. And the other two looked at each other in horror.

Elliana looked at Vincenzo in shock while Vincenzo looked back at her with a neutral expression. No remorse, concern, or worry on his face.

A prince was gone. A vampire prince of the second royal family who was one of Sebastian’s major haters. And the same one who had gone to Elliana’s room and threatened her and Vincenzo wanted to know about. Was it a mere coincidence that he was dead within three hours of the incident?
