The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride
Chapter 257: Who did this?

Chapter 257: Who did this?

"Princess Elliana! Open the door. I can hear you crying," Vincenzo raised his voice before he pushed the door harshly, entering the room when she didn’t listen.

He looked around with a concerned look on his face, his gaze finally settling on the girl who was sitting near the balcony with her legs close to her chest and her head on her knees.

She wasn’t crying, but it indeed looked like she was controlling her emotions as she whimpered softly, and Vincenzo who had thought something bad happened, ruffled his hair frustrated.

This wasn’t right. His worrying for Glory, aka, Princess Elliana would surely land him into some trouble with Sebastian.

He can’t keep coming close to her without her permission. As much as he wanted her to recognize this friendship, he didn’t want to do it at the expense of his friendship. In the end, alas she starts hating and loathing him, where would he go? What would he be left with?

Vincenzo sighed.

"I am sorry for barging into your room like -" Vincenzo stopped when he noticed tiny things in the room that didn’t look right to him.

The carpet was folded and crinkled as if someone had stumbled on it, and the sheets of the bed were pulled down towards one corner as if someone took its support to stand up. It could’ve been a normal occurrence and dismissed with the thought that the princess probably fell while walking.

But more than that, the thing that made him more suspicious was the presence of another smell in the room. The smell of another vampire, a very strong and familiar one.

Vincenzo looked at the girl whose body was trembling while she hugged herself before looking at the little things, and his brows narrowed, his anger picking.

"What happened here?" He asked, walking to the girl in large strides.

She didn’t move. Nor did she make any noise.

"I am asking you a question, Princess. What happened here?" Vincenzo sighed when she didn’t reply to him.

He grabbed her hand and pulled her up, forcing her to stand before bringing her inside the room and closing the balcony door.

"I won’t ask you this question again and again. If you won’t answer me this time, I will call Sebastian now," Vincenzo threatened, and she looked up, her scared eyes, breaking his heart into a million pieces.

"You weren’t like this when Sebastian left for the meeting. It means everything happened after he left, and in this room only. So don’t try to hide it anymore from me, Glory. Who was it?" Vincenzo asked in a coaxing voice, keeping his emotions in check.

"It’s nothing. Please leave -"

"I said give me a name!" Vincenzo roared, and seeing Elliana trembling and closing her eyes, he regretted it immediately.

He was about to apologize to her when his gaze moved to her neck. His hand froze fir a second. His pupils dilated and his jaws ached, his fangs trying to elongate as his anger rose to a level where he was ready to kill this time.

"Let me see," He grabbed her chin softly and raised her face, looking at the handprints on her neck with a poker face.

"Who did this to you? Don’t test my patience, Glory, because I am minutes away from calling the entire family here," Vincenzo said, and he was about to threaten her again, when to his shock, she stepped closer to him and placed her forehead on his chest.

"I don’t know... I don’t know who he was... uwwwuuuuuwwuuu," Elliana broke down, and Vincenzo’s fists clenched by his side.

"I couldn’t... Wuhhhuuhuuuu," she hiccuped.

It was as if someone stabbed his heart because the ache he was feeling hearing her cries was unexplainable.

"I was just about to enter my room when he came in like a wind. He pushed me so strongly that I fell to the ground. He said he was here to introduce himself," Elliana sniffed, and Vincenzo took a shaky breath.

He wanted to wrap his hands around her and pull her close, hugging to comfort her, but he also knew if he did that once, he wouldn’t be able to control himself again and keep coming to meet her and force his friendship on her.

That’s why, to avoid things from escalating too much than they already were, he let her take her emotions out on him while standing there like a statue as she cried on his chest, the gesture alone, filling him with happiness and sadness at the same time.

"But he didn’t. He didn’t say who he was. He told me a story about Mr. Marino and him, and then he said..." Elliana paused.

’Who will believe you? And do you think a person who is capable of hurting his mom won’t be able to hurt Sebastian? No one likes his presence anyway. Aren’t the royals trying to kill him with the rogue vampires? Or did you not hear of it?’ Elliana remembered that man’s words, and she stopped, hiding what exactly she was angry and frustrated about.

"Said what?" Vincenzo asked in a controlled voice.

"That he wanted to force himself on me," Elliana said, and it was enough for the last string of control Vincenzo had on himself, and a small growl left his mouth.

"What did he look like?" Vincenzo asked, raising her chin to look into her eyes before he cupped her cheeks and wiped her tears with his thumbs.

"Sshhh, stop crying now. I am here, aren’t I? Just tell me what he looked like, and I assure you that you won’t have to see him again," Vincenzo said, and Elliana looked at him for a few seconds.

She didn’t say anything and just kept looking into his eyes that were so serious and intense, his care and affection towards their friendship, dripping from his words and actions as his eyes swirled with those familiar emotions that she had seen earlier too.

He would do it. There was not a single hint of hesitancy in his eyes and she gulped.

She forgot everything going around and what they were talking about as she found herself getting lost in his deep eyes while he wiped her cheeks softly, his thumb, beside her cheeks, and she sighed before smiling through her tears.

"That was such a cheesy line to say," Elliana wiped her eyes with the back of her hands as she turned around, her smile faltering a bit as she looked at her hands that were almost burning with raging energy.

She needed to hey away from him, and quickly.

"Do you think I am joking?" Vincenzo asked.

"Probably not. I have known you for two years, remember?" Elliana asked, and Vincenzo’s pupils dilated when she finally recognized the bond between them.

Elliana looked at her feet and closed her eyes. She shouldn’t have done this, but for some reason, she couldn’t control her mouth this time. And though a part of her regretted it, the other large felt relaxed.

"What did you say?" Vincenzo asked, and Elliana turned to him with a soft smile.

"Don’t you know your Glory? She isn’t someone who would break so easily. Don’t worry. I’ll apply some ointment to it. And next time something like this happens I’ll call you or Mr. Marino," Elliana smiled forcefully, dismissing the matter.

"There is no next time, Glory. Tell me what that man looked like right now," Vincenzo sighed, and when Elliana noticed that he wasn’t letting go of that matter, she bit her lower lips.

"Brown slightly curled hair and dark blue eyes. He said Mr. Marino was a devil and he was a beast, and that he loathed him from childhood. He was even locked into dungeons during childhood for killing a human," Elliana said, and without saying another word Vincenzo immediately left the room.

That much information was enough for him.
