Chapter 243: The Princess is not here

Chapter 243: The Princess is not here

"What a pleasant surprise, sir. If I had any idea you would be coming then I would’ve arranged the files of the laboratories and information about how things are going. The workers are working day and night here. The work would be completed the day after tomorrow," The principal basis, and Sebastian hummed.

"Umm...did you need something from the princess, sir?" The principal asked, looking between the prince and his secretary.

Sebastian quirked his brows, his gaze still focused on his phone where he looked at the images of the damages done to his team in their last mission.

"Why? Can’t I come to meet my wife? It’s lunchtime, isn’t it? Is there something wrong with it?" Sebastian asked, and the principal shook his head.

"That’s not what I meant, sir," the principal said, his eyes widening when he saw the prince standing from his place.

The masked prince wasn’t angry now, was he?

"It’s been fifteen minutes since you made an announcement demanding her presence. Either she didn’t hear it because as always she was busy in her own world, or the area she was in didn’t have a properly working intercom," Sebastian said.

He half turned his body to the principal.

"Just hope that it’s not the latter one," Sebastian said, and the principal gulped.

They walked to the biotechnology department.

Sebastian took his time climbing the stairs. Though his heart was aching to see her innocent smile again, his mind was calm and collected as he took his time reaching her. This kind of ache was also good and exciting.

And since this was his first time feeling something like this, he was intending to feel every second of it.

Sebastian reached the third floor and looked around. He didn’t know which lecture she had right before lunchtime. Thus, starting from the third floor seemed like a good idea.

Sebastian looked at his subordinate and Lucas nodded.

"We are looking for Miss Elliana," Lucas said to no one in particular, and everyone parted their ways all the way to Elliana’s class.

More than half of the University already knew who Elliana was and those who didn’t know heard about it yesterday after the little incident.

Seeing the most dangerous vampire prince walking towards the class, looking for a mere human, they didn’t know what to think of him.

Dexter looked at the prince coming towards the classroom and hid her bag behind him.

There’s no way he is going to give her information so soon. Dexter nodded at himself.

As Sebastian passed by him, his gaze raked up and down Dexter as if he was mocking him, and Dexter looked at those eyes that looked strangely familiar before shaking his head.

Sebastian paused at the entrance of the class and took a deep breath. He had thought about everything. What to say to her, what to ask her, he thought about everything.

He walked inside the class with a soft look on his face, forgetting about everything that happened at the dungeons and that building, ready to hold his girl in his arms.

Empty.

There was no one in the classroom, and he narrowed his eyes.

Where was his princess?

If she wasn’t here, why the hell had everyone parted ways and pointed in this direction? Was this some kind of joke?

The more Sebastian thought about it, the angrier he became.

He walked out of the classroom, his attitude taking a 180° turn. The same man who was oozing calm vibes earlier was now oozing dangerous and unapproachable vibes as he looked at everyone.

"Is everything -" Lucas started.

"She is not here," Sebastian cut off Lucas’s sentence.

"What? Has Pri- Where did she go?" Lucas immediately corrected his sentence before he looked around, trying to find a familiar face without making it too obvious.

"You," Lucas looked at Melony who immediately widened her eyes.

"Me?" Melony squeaked, and Drake immediately held her hand to calm her nerves.

"Yes, you. Where is she? You are her friend, right? We saw you yesterday too," Lucas asked, and Melony looked around, unsure of what to say.

She looked at Dexter for some kind of help, but when he didn’t say anything, she bit her lower lip.

"I... I...she was here in the last lecture. Maybe she went to the washrooms? But after that... I... I heard and saw...." Melony stuttered, trying to form all kinds of excuses she could.

"You what?" Sebastian turned to the girl, his dark eyes, making Melony shiver in her place.

"I don’t know. She is not here," Melony squeaked.

As soon as she completed her sentence, she widened her eyes when Sebastian appeared right in front of her, making her gasp.

Drake’s hands clenched around Melony’s as he tried to support his fiance, ready to fight back the prince even when he knew he wouldn’t stand a chance.

"She is not here? That girl is not her? If not here then where the hell did she go?" Sebastian asked, his voice coming out angrier than he had intended.

"How would we know? She didn’t leave after telling us," Melony said before she widened her eyes when she realized that she disrespected a prince.

"I... I am sorry," Melony said.

Sebastian didn’t mind her. Rather than saying anything to her, he looked at his subordinate.

"Do you need an invitation to go and find her? I don’t care where you bring her. I want that girl here in five minutes. Go find her," Sebastian looked at Lucas and Ambrose.

Dexter, who already knew that Elliana wasn’t in the University, in fact in the kingdom, bit his lower lips, his nervous expression not going unnoticed by Sebastian, who had seen him hiding something earlier too.

"You, come here," Sebastian pointed at him.

"The finance minister’s son, right?" Sebastian asked, and Dexter nodded.

"Yes, sir," Dexter said with fake respect.

"What have you been trying to hide from me?" Sebastian asked, and before Dexter could cook up a lie, Sebastian grabbed the bag from his hand that he was hiding behind him, his gaze darkening.

"This bag. It belongs to her, right?" Sebastian asked, and Dexter nodded.

"What are you doing with her bag?"

"I... I... I actually..." Dexter stuttered before sighing.

"She left it here before she went away. I thought she went to use the restroom and since the lecture was over, I took the bag, in case someone else saw it and tried to steal something," Dexter said, and Sebastian was about to ask him why the hell was so nervous if he didn’t do anything or know about her when his phone beeped with an incoming message.

Sebastian narrowed his eyes before opening his phone. He was about to open the message to see the attachment when Lucas and Ambrose walked to the prince.

"She is not in the entire building, sir," Lucas said.

"If she isn’t in this building, go and look at other buildings too -" Sebastian said, his words freezing along with his body.

There on his phone, in the message was a picture.

It was the picture of his wife who was standing near the lake.

The caption was simple yet dangerous at so many levels -

"Just so you know. If I wanted, I could’ve,"

Sebastian’s eyes started to turn dark, his demeanor changing.
