The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride
Chapter 227: That man is mine

Chapter 227: That man is mine

"What is that supposed to mean, Madeline?" Elliana asked with narrowed brows.

"What do I mean? Don’t you understand, sweet Elliana? Everything you have right now, starting from these expensive clothes to those friends and this identity and so-called new royal family and status of the princess, everything originally belonged to me," Madeline said, walking closer to Elliana before she grabbed her jaws in a tight grip.

Tears welled in Elliana’s eyes.

She felt hurt, but more than that, she felt her anger flaring up.

Madeline smiled at the girl’s helpless reaction. Yes. That’s the pain she deserves. This bastard doesn’t deserve happiness but misery and a life full of agony. Madeline thought.

"And guess what, Elliana? I can come and take it anytime. All I have to do is tell people that you exchanged places with me and used underhanded tricks to become the bride of the youngest prince. And everyone will believe me. Everything you have will be mine," Madeline smirked, rubbing her cheeks with her thumb.

This was one of her ways to dominate her. She has always used this method, and it always worked, but not today.

"They won’t," Elliana smiled through her pain.

"What?" Madeline narrowed her eyes, Elliana’s smile prickling her heart like a thorn.

If it had been any other time before, Elliana would’ve felt deeply threatened by what Madeline said, but not now. Not when she has started to find herself.

"I said they won’t believe you. Everyone in the royal Kingdom already knows I am not the bride they had selected. You said that all I have originally belonged to you? Maybe...maybe you are right," Elliana raised her hand.

And for the first time in Madeline’s life, Elliana held Madeline’s hand in a tight grip, pulling it away from her face before she twisted it behind Madeline’s back.

"Your era is over, Madeline, and so is your fear. I think you should stop treating me like I am some dirt you picked on the side of the road," Elliana said before she grabbed Madeline’s neck and pushed her against the wall, her eyes narrowed into slits, shocking Madeline even more.

She has to take her stand, not for herself, but for Mr. Marino who has always been with her and always shown her his constant support.

She wasn’t an illegitimate daughter of some bloodline, but she was the princess of Mr. Marino. That’s what Elliana was telling herself to make up for all the anger she was feeling.

"Elliana! What the hell are you doing?! Have you lost your mind?!" Madeline screeched, not expecting the girl to act like this.

Elliana smiled, her eyes widening and Madeline gulped.

"I haven’t. I am just fed up with how you always think you can walk over me just because I don’t say anything, just because I don’t expose you, Madeline," Elliana massaged her jaws with her thumb just like how Madeline does it.

"Funny of you to think, I used to bear with you because I was scared of you," Elliana sniffed, wiping the rogue tear that fell from her eyes.

She touched her cheeks and took another tear on her index finger before looking at Madeline.

"I used to bear with all the humiliation because there was a hope in my heart, a hope that I would find my mom.

But do you know what was stronger than that? The hope that my father, the king, would love me like he should’ve done to his daughter," Elliana sighed before she let go of Madeline’s neck, making her stumble forward as she gasped for air.

"You see, Madeline, I always thought that my father used to love me. It was supposed to be like that, but strangely, I started receiving more affection in my enemy’s house. They showed me what love and care actually look like even when all of them are supposed to hate me," Elliana smiled sarcastically as the faces of everyone flashed in front of her.

"And I assure you, it’s definitely not in the lines of making your daughter a scapegoat for something she didn’t do and throwing her in jail just so you can protect your other daughter," Elliana said, remembering everyone around her.

The chef, who was more concerned about her diet than her father, who never bothered to ask her if she ate food and was a puppet of her stepmother.

The caretaker, Miss Zoya, who is always around her, tending to her every need like a grandmother.

Some new friends that she made in the university, who definitely don’t let just anyone drop drinks on her face and walk away.

And at the end, Mr. Marino. Her Mr. Marino, who was her personal caretaker, friend, frenemy, and - Elliana smiled as she closed her eyes to remember that rare smile that she got to see last night.

"So what are you trying to imply here? That we treated you wrongly? You were nothing when we found you with that basket. Apart from that weird locket on your neck and that ragged piece of cloth you had on your body, you didn’t have anything. We provided you with everything. You don’t bite the hands that feed you, Elliana. How ungrateful you are," Madeline said, not liking the way her threats were not working.

She wanted to see Elliana in distress. There was no way she was going to announce anything regarding the bride’s situation. She didn’t want to go and marry that ugly dangerous prince who didn’t even show his face to anyone.

She just wanted to see the fear of losing everything she had on Elliana’s face.

"You gave me things? This should be the joke of the sanctuary. You stole from me, Madeline.

All the love I was supposed to have, all the friends that I was supposed to enjoy with, and all the freedom and care I should’ve enjoyed too because I had the same blood running in my veins as you," Elliana smiled, clenching her hands as she tried to control her energies that were trying to leak from her hand.

"Anyway, I don’t have much time. Just say what you want to say, take out your frustration or whatever as you always do and leave," Elliana sighed.

Madeline looked at the girl before humming.

"We are looking for more techniques and ways to get an upper hand on the vampires,"

Elliana didn’t like where this was going.

"And? What am I supposed to do?" She asked with narrowed brows.

"As the daughter of the hunter bloodline, you should help us with the project. We want you to steal some information from your prince’s office room. You should be able to do that since you are getting so much love and recognition from there, right?" Madeline smirked.

"In return, Dad promised he would help find your mother. We heard she was seen in Sun City," Madeline used the method she knew would definitely work on this useless, stupid girl.

Once this girl enters the office of the youngest Prince who is known for his temper, everything, including the love and care she is gloating about, will be gone, and her life will become nothing more than a hell there too. Madeline thought smugly.

"I won’t," Elliana said.

"What did you say? I am giving you an opportunity to -"

"You can take that opportunity, make a roll of it and stick it up where the sun doesn’t shine," Elliana’s eyes turned dark. She wasn’t able to take it anymore.

Betray Mr. Marino? The only person who is still patient with her and ensures she has the best in the world even when he is so suspicious of her? Never in a million years.

"You have lost your mind? I am telling you the person you have been suffering for, is on our radar, and you don’t want to take up the opportunity," Madeline asked, nearly losing her mind.

"Yes, I don’t. I will just ask my husband to look for her. Thank you for telling me the location," Elliana smirked, her attitude showing up because of her powers, and Madeline gritted her teeth helplessly.

The initial bell rang, and Elliana smiled at Madeline.

"It wasn’t so nice meeting you, sister Madeline, but I just want to say, next time you think you can single me out just to take out your frustrations on me, remember that I can turn the tables too. Illegitimate or legitimate, I am still the princess of the bloodline and now more powerful than you. So you enjoy your royalty and fame until I get into power, okay?" Elliana blinked at the girl innocently before she turned around to leave.

"And yes, don’t attack me from behind like you pathetically used to. My husband doesn’t like it when my skin gets scratched.

The last time someone did that, they ended up in the ocean with their heart out of their body. He isn’t afraid to show how much he cares for me," Elliana said.

"I don’t know what kind of twisted ideas or plots you had in mind when you said you’ll snatch everything away that I have, but let me make one thing very clear, Madeline," Elliana turned to Madeline before walking to the girl and tucking her hair behind her ear.

"That man, Mr. Marino, is mine, and I’ll keep him as mine for as long as I can, so if you tried to come between me and him, I promise you a life full of miseries, and never for once think that I am not capable of doing that because you and I both know when I lose my mind, I don’t think straight. So behave, okay?" Elliana patted Madeline’s cheeks before she turned around and left, leaving a seething Madeline behind.
