The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride -
Chapter 223: Who helped her?
Chapter 223: Who helped her?
Elliana opened her eyes as soon as Sebastian left the room, her heartbeat going haywire again as she replayed what happened between them.
A blush rose to her face.
She was ashamed of herself for all the things she did so boldly, but she didn’t regret any part of it. She didn’t know she had it in herself to provoke the devil at this level and in this manner.
Elliana bit her lower lip before turning in the bed, laying on her stomach, taking a shaky breath.
She pulled out her phone from under the couch that she had pushed earlier to ensure no one grabbed her phone and saw her call record with the private untraceable number.
There were four missed calls from Dexter and five missed calls from Marcello. She licked her lower lip, placing her hand on her abdomen, blushing at the thought of how her husband grabbed her there.
She threw herself on the bed, giddy about what she was feeling.
Her heart was aching with contentment. Was it because of what happened, and she wanted more of it? Or was it because she felt that one more barrier between them shattered today when Mr. Marino appeared in front of her in a half mask? She didn’t know what it was, but it made her feel loved.
Elliana looked at the ceiling, a soft smile playing on her lips as she remembered all the words he said to her, the words that showed that even after losing control, he was respectful towards her.
"Mr. Marino, Mr. Marino, Mr. Marino, what am I going to do with you? Even the angry and powerful side of me is falling for your tricks. How will I be able to part from you after what you show me?" Elliana massaged her forehead before dialling Marcello’s number first.
"Hey," her voice came more breathlessly than she had intended, thanks to all her lewd thoughts about her husband.
"Hey? Hey?! Do you have any idea how worried I was in this past hour? What the hell were you doing that you couldn’t at least text me with "I am okay?" Marcello asked.
"I was.... Uh... Caught up with my hu-... guardian," Elliana quickly changed her answer at the last moment.
"Caught up? Did you get caught?" He asked, remembering how strict her guardian was.
"No. I made sure of it," Elliana whispered proudly, even when deep down she had a feeling that Mr. Marino was highly suspicious of her. She won’t be surprised if he has already considered her the same girl.
He was observant about everything, and though he appeared relaxed most of the time, she could feel how his senses were always awake, noticing every detail around him. He wasn’t the most dangerous vampire for nothing.
"That’s good then," Marcello breathed a sigh of relief.
"Honestly, you don’t have to hide your guardian from me. Don’t I already know so much about your adventures? Something that no one else knows?" Marcello said, referring to the fact that she never tells him about what she looks like or where she lives.
"You will know everything when the time is right," Elliana said before sighing.
"Did the wolves reach there?" She asked, and he hummed.
"Thank you for today. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without your quick thinking. I owe you," Elliana said.
"If you really feel like you owe me, can you keep me in your circle?" Marcello scratched the back of his head boyishly.
"My circle?" Elliana asked, confused.
"Yes, your circle. The circle where you only allow a few selected people you trust enough to tell about yourself? I am not asking you to tell me everything right now, but yeah, I would like it. You know what I am hinting at, right? Gosh, this is more stressful than those high-end meetings," Marcello groaned, bringing a smile to Elliana’s face.
"Marcello, I always thought you were behind Glow, but your actions aren’t very reliable. Are you falling for me?" Elliana asked, and Marcello widened his eyes.
Glow was sitting right beside him!
"Hey! What the hell are you talking about?! It’s nothing like that. My love is only for Glow," Marcello said before he realized what Elliana was doing.
He looked at Glow, who was looking at him with big, wide eyes and a red tint on her cheeks.
"Hey! You tricked me!" Marcello shouted at Elliana, and the latter only smiled.
"I’ll talk to you later. I’ll probably come there to pay the wolves soon," Elliana said before ending the call.
She looked at the pattern on the ceiling, her mind thinking about how she made it out of there.
After she ran away with the wolves, back to the University entrance since that was the quickest way to Mr. Marino’s palace, she was shocked to see Dexter already waiting for her there.
Almost an hour ago ~~~~
"Are you out of your mind? What the hell are you doing here?" Elliana asked as soon as she got down from one of the rogue wolves.
"You guys don’t stay here anymore. Leave this place before you guys get caught in some blunder. I’ll contact you guys later," she said, and Dexter was surprised to see how obedient these rogue wolves were.
He bet if it had been anyone else, they wouldn’t have thought twice before clawing their skin.
"What am I doing here? I am here to take you back. How were you planning to go?" Dexter asked, and Elliana didn’t have a reply to that.
"Come sit quickly," he started his bike, and Elliana sat behind him, looking at him in confusion.
"Why did you wait for me, Dexter?" She asked, her voice more soft this time.
"Don’t you get it? I was worried about you. What if something had happened to you? Who would I have sold all those paintings to?" Dexter asked, making her smile.
"I know you have hundreds of questions for me. But I promise I will answer them all soon," Elliana whispered, and he hummed.
"I trust you. Don’t worry. I just hope you haven’t killed a royal vampire because you definitely smell like vampire blood," Dexter said, and Elliana looked at her clothes.
She smelt of blood? It looks like she will have to do a lot of work to get things done and save her ass from getting caught.
After ten minutes, Elliana asked Dexter to stop the bike in the middle of the market.
"Are you sure about it?" He confirmed again.
"Yes, it should be alright," She said, and Dexter nodded before dropping her there. Since she promised she would tell him everything soon and she couldn’t be seen here with him or her bodyguards might snitch her, Dexter didn’t stop and left immediately.
As soon as his bike reached some distance and his figure faded, Elliana sighed.
It will take her around fifteen minutes to walk to the palace, and then to the forest, and needs a perfect plan to jump over the wall and -
She was about to take a step ahead when someone held her hand, and she widened her eyes at the weird feeling she got in her heart.
"What the hell are you doing here?" The lady asked, and she turned around to see a lady wearing a black cloak.
"Who are you?" She asked in confusion, unsure of this feeling that felt like something wanted to travel out of her body, something that wanted her to hug this lady.
"I am someone who can save you from this situation you have gotten yourself into," the lady smiled, something inside Elliana making her want to believe this lady.
Her heart skipped a beat as if she knew this lady already, and she clenched her hands.
"Can you?" Elliana asked.
If something was wrong, Nath would be notified, and he would save her, right? She can take such minute risks, can’t she? Besides, right now, saving her face was more important.
Elliana looked around before an idea popped into her head.
"Does it look like I am lying to you?" The witch held her hand and teleported them inside the room.
"These clothes -" Elliana looked at her sheepishly, and the witch smiled before clicking her fingers, making the dress disappear and change into a yellow dress.
She even cleaned her scent.
"I... I don’t even know you. Why are you helping me?" Elliana asked, and the lady smiled.
"Yellow suits you. Even in the darkness, you are like a ray of sunshine," the lady said, and before Elliana could ask anything, she was interrupted.
"Princess, can you open the door?"
Elliana shook in shock when Miss Zoya started knocking on the door, and she looked at the lady who smiled at her as if reassuring her that everything was alright.
"We will talk about it later," the lady stepped close to Elliana before cupping her cheeks.
"My sunshine," The lady said one last time before disappearing.
Elliana knew that going and opening the door was dangerous, and Miss Zoya, who knows about all her dresses, would definitely ask about this pretty one.
Thus, she stripped out of her dress, hung it in the wardrobe and rushed to the bathroom.
However, she didn’t think she was signing up for such an activity by entering the bathtub and falling asleep.
Present~~~~
Elliana turned around, looking at the balcony before tilting her head. Who was that witch? And why the hell were all these witches coming to her one by one? What was so special about her chakra or powers or whatever they were? Elliana sighed before closing her eyes, letting sleep take over her.
