Chapter 198: Those who eat Vampires

Elliana quickly stood from her place with wide eyes and hid behind the pillar, thinking of how to jump down from there and not get caught by anyone so that no one suspects her.

Nathaniel, who heard her warning crystal clear narrowed his eyes when he didn’t hear any thunderstorm like Elliana was threatening about.

"Nathaniel," Prakrith gulped as she barely held Elliana’s magic down from destroying the forest, and Nathaniel looked at the lady, whose legs were trembling.

He smiled at her before chuckling.

"What? Why are you calling for me now? She is just a child, and I should teach her everything, no?" Nathaniel chuckled before clicking at the globe as he noticed a few trees falling near the lake, making him sigh.

"Sometimes I really feel like I have become their personal cleaner. Every time these mother-daughter pair make a mess, I have to clean behind them," Nathaniel placed his hand on Prakrith to give her enough energy to stop other trees from falling and help her to rejuvenate the fallen ones.

"Now you know what kind of witch you are dealing with. That’s why, next time you give me some kind of idea on how to deal with my fiance, make sure you know everything about how naughty and wishful she is," Nathaniel looked at the girl through the globe who was hiding behind a pillar with wide eyes.

"Stupid girl," he sighed before going back to his seat and learning more about the spell he was reading about.

He was yet to interrogate Gertrude more. He had thought of interrogating her before too, but when he found this book that was only sacred to the 9th-level witches in the dark world, he knew he had to read this.

Since he was a mixed breed, he wasn’t allowed to have access to these sacred books in the dark world.

"I feel like I am missing something," Nathaniel groaned, and Prakrith finally calmed down before looking at Nathaniel.

"I think you should take help from Arizona for this. She knows almost everything about this dark stuff," Prakrith said, and Nathaniel rolled his eyes.

"I know she is the queen of the light world, but let’s not forget that the rules of spells are different in the dark world, and not even one book in the light world teaches us about that," Nathaniel said, and Prakrith smiled.

"Don’t tell me you don’t know who Arizona is, that you don’t know the tale of the three sisters- Arizona, Azura, and Azrael," Prakrith raised her brows, and Nathaniel squinted his brows.

"What tale?" He asked.

"For someone who belongs to both the light world and the dark world witches, you are quite oblivious, Nathaniel," Prakrith commented, but rather than telling him about anything, she left the room, leaving him confused and hanging.

Meanwhile, Elliana who had somehow saved her face from Daniel, ran towards the forest to check the kind of damage she did to the forest and looked around helplessly.

What the hell was all this? She was sure she saw a straight trail of the trees falling near the lake where her energies had been pointed.

Was it nothing more than an illusion? Everything looked alright here. How is this possible? Maybe she misinterpreted the distance? Elliana nodded at herself and started walking further into the forest.

She walked for a few more minutes, or was it an hour already? She knew that this was one of the largest and longest forests here, but she didn’t know it would be this big.

Elliana kept walking further before she stopped abruptly.

’What the hell are you doing, Elliana? If the damage didn’t happen near the University, you don’t have to worry about anything. Why are you wasting your time and going further into this forest to risk your life?’ Elliana reprimanded herself.

Yes. She should leave. She turned around to walk back to the University, but her eyes widened when she suddenly saw a man standing in front of her.

"Who are you?" The man looked at her with dangerously golden eyes, and her pupils dilated even more when he held her hand in a tight grip.

"Ouch," she winced in pain.

"I am asking you a fucking question! Who the hell are you, and what are you doing in our area?" The man asked, making her whimper as her hand started to hurt.

"Maze, leave the girl alone. Can’t you differentiate a human?" Another guy came from behind the bushes and looked at her up and down with a smirk.

"She smells like a vampire though," the Maze guy said, and the other man walked to her before grabbing her jaws.

"Mmhh... definitely human," he smirked, his amber eyes looking directly into her eyes, and Elliana bit her lips, trying to work her brain on what she should be doing in a situation like this.

She was feeling weak because of the amount of energy she used earlier, and now this too? No. Right now wasn’t the time to think about her pain. It was time to think of a solution.

"I am a student at the International University," she whispered, testing the waters.

"Aaah, the mixed University. No wonder she smells like those leeches," the new man said.

"So? What are we going to do now? Let her go? Just like that? Even humans are not allowed to trespass our areas," Maze roared, and Elliana looked at him before looking at the new man that looked more sensible.

"I didn’t see any board there," she said, and the new man chuckled at her.

"You heard her? There was no board. What do you want me to do with this one? Isn’t she a cute little being?" the new man smirked.

"Unfortunately, we are designed to eat vampires only, or I would’ve loved to have a sip of her cuteness and test if it runs in her blood," the new man said, and all the thoughts Elliana had about him being sensible, jumped out of her head.

He said they eat vampires. But how is this possible? So far the only man she has heard about eating vampire’s hearts is her husband only.

But these also eat vampires.

There was only one way to find out about it.

"W-who are you? What do you mean you want to drink my blood? The rules don’t allow that and -" Elliana couldn’t complete her words as the man in front of her laughed out loudly.

"Stupid humans, can’t you see? We are vampires too. Just the worst ones. Rules, you said? Those rules are not for us," Maze said, grabbing her neck in a steel grip, and she took a sharp breath, her neck almost feeling like it would break anytime, installing a weird fear in her heart.

His nails were digging in her skin, drawing blood now and tears welled in her eyes.

"Ahhh! Rather than luring me, the smell of her blood is making me puke," Maze growled, and Elliana placed her hand on his to remove it as her complexion turned pale.

"Stop it. We don’t want to alert anyone for now," The new man said, and Maze left her neck, making her drop to the ground.

*Cough* *cough* Elliana coughed loudly, whimpering and wriggling on the ground, trying to take as much as oxygen she could, trying to even her complexion.

"Get the hell back to where you have come from, and don’t you dare come to this side again, or I swear next time, despite whether I like human blood or not, I’ll shed you into pieces," Maze growled at her, and it was all the indication she needed to run away from the place.

She ran. She didn’t know for how long, but she ran until her lungs started to give up and she saw black spots in her vision.

Elliana knew her body wanted to stop, but her mind was telling her to keep running and never look back. She hasn’t felt this kind of danger from someone in a really long time.

She kept running until her body finally gave up near the lake and her footing slipped making her roll down in the lake from the cliff.

Splash!

That’s the last thing she heard and remembered before losing consciousness.
