Chapter 196: A lie to pleasure

Chapter 196: A lie to pleasure

"Are you okay?" Dexter rushed inside as soon as he saw the prince leaving.

Seeing the girl sitting there with a dazed look on her face, he thinned his lips.

He gently sat beside her and held her hand, making her look at him with confusion on her face.

"I am sorry that it happened to you," Dexter said, and Elliana snapped out of her daze before smiling at him assuredly.

Everyone followed Dexter and sat at the table with her, looking at her observantly, unsure of what to say to her.

"I wish I could say it was okay," she murmured, looking at her hands before she removed them from his grip to not make him feel awkward.

It wasn’t okay. For the first time she snuck out of the University, she almost got caught by Mr. Marino. But that wasn’t the most concerning part.

The thing she was concerned about was his behavior. For a moment she was really scared that he would take off his mask and kiss her senselessly when she noticed and identified the angry vibes in his aura.

As much as she loves when Mr. Marino is like this for her and wants it to be real, the University isn’t exactly the place where she wants to be romantic with him.

"In my opinion, I think you should talk to your guardian now. Maybe he can talk to the principal and arrange for a bodyguard for you at the university. That guy, what was his name- ?" Samantha asked, and Elliana looked at her.

"Mr. Tian," Melony said.

"Yes. You should ask that guy to be here with you and protect you from all kinds of things. Your beauty really makes you the easiest target. I mean, it’s normal for most vampire girls to be beautiful, but a human this beautiful is rare," Samantha said, and Elliana smiled helplessly.

"You want me to ask Mr. Tian to protect me from the Masked Vampire Prince?" Elliana confirmed, and Samantha nodded, making Elliana chuckle.

"Pfft... Haha," Elliana laughed loudly, making everyone look at her.

Her friends -"..."

"Is she going crazy?"

"I don’t see why she shouldn’t. Maybe she is traumatized,"

"Anyone would be traumatized after being held by the devil prince,"

"Should we take her to the doctor?"

Her friends started to talk and Elliana stopped laughing, still smiling.

"I am not going crazy. It’s just funny to me how you think a mere bodyguard can fight and protect me from that masked prince. I am human, and even I could feel that aura which almost felt like it was suffocating my veins and arteries," Elliana exaggerated, and her friends nodded.

"You are right. What were we thinking? Even the royal King is afraid of him. I heard he isn’t even allowed to roam the royal kingdom at night. Everyone is afraid of him because he doesn’t eat humans, but vampires. Even crossing paths with him is like crossing death," Melony shuddered, and Elliana smiled forcefully.

They were practically bad-mouthing her husband in front of her and rather than stopping them, she had to pretend like she was scared of him terribly. She sighed.

"Anyway, I wanted to thank you all," Elliana looked at everyone.

"Thanks? For what?" Alcinder asked, and Elliana looked down at her feet.

"I thought that you guys won’t want to stay as my friends after what my bodyguard did with that vampire girl. Whatever she did was wrong, but she didn’t deserve any of it. When I reached home, I heard from Mr. Tian that he not only hurt her but he actually killed her," Elliana looked at them apologetically.

Alcinder leaned back in his seat, observing her closely.

"And did your bodyguards get punished for that?" He asked.

"They did. They won’t be allowed to go on any occasion with me for quite some time. But mostly they were punished because they let everything happen in the first place. I think they deserve it," Elliana smiled, remembering what Sebastian told her about not having breakfast with him and being mad about it.

He technically deserved it even when it was unintentional.

"You don’t need to thank us for that, girl. It was our fault, wasn’t it? Your guardian is right. Why did we let it happen in the first place?" Melony said, and Elliana smiled.

"Yeah, you shouldn’t feel bad about it. We are not leaving you just because of that," Samantha said.

"Well, if everything is decided, shouldn’t we eat this food? I mean, the food is not my fault. We shouldn’t let it waste," Elliana looked at the food, and everyone chuckled at her words.

"Elliana, can I talk to you after you are done with your lunch?" Daniel suddenly asked, and Elliana nodded at him with her mouth stuffed with pasta.

Meanwhile, at the same time in the forest, Boston slammed Madeline into the tree, making her groan in pain.

He looked at her with red narrowed eyes as he grabbed her neck.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Madeline pushed Boston away from herself, and the vampire chuckled darkly.

"What is wrong with me? You tell me. First, you made a deal with me and now you are going back on it? More than that, how dare you send me there with half information only?

I indeed like you like crazy but I am not going to sacrifice my life for it," Boston clenched his hand around her neck, squeezing it painfully, and Madeline glared back at him, her face turning pale with each passing second.

"What is that supposed to mean?!" She roared before coughing when he left her neck and let her drop to the ground.

"You know what I mean, Madeline. Leave it. The part of the deal is already completed anyways. It doesn’t make any sense to fight now. So? When should I come to your place? Wait. We have to date first, no?" Boston grabbed her jaws, forcing her to stand again.

"Wait. What do you mean?" Madeline felt her heart increase its pace as she looked away, not wanting to meet his gaze.

"Don’t act dumb, Madeline. I know you are not. The part of the deal where we had decided if I hurt Elliana, you will go on a date with me, and probably a kiss too," Boston smirked, rubbing her bottom lip with his thumb, making her gulp.

"But-"

"What? Didn’t you go to the biotechnology department to check whether Elliana came to the University or not just for the purpose?

She hasn’t come to University today. I have proved myself and done what you told me to. I made a girl throw her into the ocean. Now it’s your turn," Boston smirked and held Madeline’s hand, hiding the fact that he knows Elliana has returned to the University.

Well, he can think and worry about that later, no? First, shouldn’t he treat himself to some good time with this human b*tch? He smiled evilly.
