Chapter 166: Dead people don’t kill

’You should go back to the Inn, my sunshine. Stop being mischievous. I know you want some alone time. That’s why I am leaving now. But don’t you dare go anywhere else? Follow this path and you’ll reach the Inn,’ Elliana sighed as she remembered Nathaniel’s words.

"He always treats me like a kid. But maybe it’s because of this special treatment I have grown fond of him," she smiled at herself before taking another step ahead.

Creak! Creak! Elliana heard a weird sound of twigs breaking behind her, and she turned around, her eyes widening in shock as she fell backward.

Meanwhile at the same time~~~

"Do you think this is normal? If I had known something like this was about to happen, I wouldn’t have planned this trip either," Samantha groaned, flailing her legs in an unladylike manner to show her annoyance.

Alcinder placed his hand on her thighs when her skirt started to rise, making her immediately blush before she stopped.

"What happened? What are you guys fighting over?" Daniel walked to them, and Melony sighed.

"You know we were supposed to sail after lunch so that we could reach the third sister of the Berlona Islands by evening, right? Well, thanks to this weather, we can’t do that anymore. The captain has denied sailing in this harsh weather," Melony groaned.

"He said, let me quote - A captain knows when to not mess with the angry waves of the monster that live in the depth of seas. This weather is not normal at this time of the year. Something tragic has happened or will happen," Melony sighed.

"I seriously can’t be with these superstitious people," Samantha groaned, and Daniel hummed before looking around.

"So, she isn’t awake yet?" Daniel asked no one in particular.

"I know, right? Even Dexter isn’t here. I think he is still in her room, watching over her. It still gives me goosebumps to think that Elliana reacted so harshly. I haven’t seen that girl ever since," Melony said the things that the others had overlooked, and Alcinder narrowed his eyes.

"He isn’t," Drake walked to them before kissing Melony’s temple as he sat and pulled her into his lap.

"What do you mean?" Daniel asked.

"Dexter is passed out in his room. I don’t know if he smoked some drugs again, but he passed out pretty badly. He didn’t wake up, no matter how many times I tried to wake him up. So I think Elliana is alone in her room. Did anyone check on her? Is she alright? Her behavior was quite questionable," Drake asked, and everyone hummed.

"She almost looked like she was possessed. Let’s go and check on her," Samantha stood from her place and was about to enter the corridor when they saw Boston walking towards them.

"Your human pet’s move was sick today. She is quite adventurous. You chose a good one. When everyone is inside the Inn waiting for the rain to slow down, she is out there in the wild having fun," Boston smirked.

He walked past them, and everyone looked at each other.

"What did he mean by that? Is Elliana not in her room?" Melony asked, and they walked to her room, looking at the empty room with narrowed eyes.

"I think we should ask her bodyguards, especially that tall and muscular one. He is always close to her," Melony said, and they walked to the bodyguard’s room.

"The hell! What happened here?" Daniel was the first one to comment when they looked at the mess the room was in.

The bed was displaced, and the pillows were on the ground along with a messed bedsheet. The vase in the room was broken too with the curtains pulled down. It was almost like this place was turned upside down.

"It looks like a rage reaction," Drake commented.

"It could be some incident too. Could it be that something happened here that we have no idea about? What if Elliana was kidnapped?" Melony looked at everyone with wide eyes.

"And what I think is that you should stop watching those crime movies. Who will kidnap Elliana, and why? What does she have -" Samantha paused, and they looked at each other.

What does she have? She has the most precious thing on the entire ship. Her human blood!

"Quick, we need to search for her. I don’t want to think of something bad, but things don’t look too promising. What if that maid Silvia took her away? Elliana was quite angry at her, and no matter how weak, Silvia was a vampire. What if she took Elliana in a fit of anger too?" Melony said, and they looked at her.

"Seriously, Melony. The least you can do is keep your negative thoughts to yourself," They started walking towards the main hall to spread the news.

As they turned around the corner, they saw Lucas walking towards the room in frustration.

"Hey, aren’t you Elliana’s bodyguard or secretary thing? Where is she? Where is Elliana?" Daniel rushed to him, and Lucas narrowed his eyes.

"What do you mean where is she? The princess must be in her room," Lucas said.

"She is not there. That’s why we are asking you. Even her other bodyguard is not with her. Did they go somewhere together? But it’s literally a storm brewing outside. So how can they think of having some adventure?" Samantha asked.

"She is not with him. She can’t be," Lucas said, remembering how badly his prince hurt his princess today.

"Well, if they are not together, where the hell is she? What kind of bodyguards are you? You don’t even have any idea," Melony scoffed.

"Let’s not waste our time and find her before it’s too late," Alcinder said, and everyone nodded at his suggestion.

Even after searching for her for thirty minutes, they couldn’t find her.

"Guys, I don’t have a very good feeling about this. She was literally my responsibility, and -" Samantha’s eyes brimmed with tears at the same time Sebastian walked inside the inn through the backside, drenched.

Lucas who sensed his prince’s presence rushed to the backside immediately, thinning his lips when he noticed the state, his prince was in.

Sebastian’s knuckles were still bleeding. His healing was the best in the entire nation, so for his knuckles to be still bleeding, he must’ve been punched something harsh for quite some time.

"Sir, the princess -" Lucas started, but Sebastian raised his hand to shut his subordinate.

"Not now, Lucas. I am in no mood to hear any kind of lecture. Leave me alone if you want to keep that head intact over your body," Sebastian looked at Lucas with dark red eyes, and Lucas gulped.

His prince was beyond angry. Uttering a single word after this kind of warming was a clear death sentence, but Lucas knew he needed to say something.

If he didn’t gather the courage to speak, he might regret it for the rest of his life. He couldn’t say anything to comfort his princess, but if anything happened to her today, it will surely be on him.

’Just get it out of your mouth, Lucas’ Lucas said to himself.

"Are you not going to move out of my way?" Sebastian’s eyes turned even darker, his fangs starting to show, and Lucas immediately fell to his knees.

Sebastian looked down at his subordinate, confused. He had no idea what this man was doing. He never disobeyed his orders before. So why today? Because of what happened earlier?

Sebastian’s eyes narrowed.

"Do you want to die?" Sebastian asked, grabbing Lucas’ chin, and forcing him to look up.

"Sir, please forgive me. I know I shouldn’t be uttering a word after your warning, and you can kill me if you want after this, but I need to tell you this. It’s about the Princess. She is not here in this Inn. We don’t know where she went," Lucas said, and Sebastian’s hand froze.

"What do you mean you don’t know where she went?" Sebastian asked.

"After she left after you said those - she hasn’t returned to the Inn," Lucas gulped.

"So you are saying that girl is out of the Inn, in that dark forest when it is thundering pouring so hard?" Sebastian’s voice dropped even more, and Lucas nodded, making him grit his teeth.

"The hell is wrong with her? Does she think being rebellious and throwing a tantrum will lead her anywhere in this wild area? I seriously can’t be with her!" Sebastian snarled in pure anger before he walked towards the front door in long strides to go to the front part of the forest.

"Hey! Elliana’s bodyguard! Do you -" The rest of Melony’s words stuck in her mouth when Sebastian turned to her, the murderous look in his eyes, making her hide behind Drake as all the guys immediately alerted at the sense of power they felt around him.

This bodyguard. His aura demanded submission. Just who the hell was he? And why the hell does Elliana have such a man as her bodyguard?

"If you are going to find Elliana, we will come with you. It’s better to spread in the forest so that we can find her sooner. We suspect that the vampire maid did something," Alcinder said, unfazed, and Sebastian scoffed.

"I can find my princess on my own. She is mine - my responsibility. And regarding that maid, she can’t do anything to Elliana," Sebastian walked out of the Inn.

Dead people don’t kill.
