Chapter 162: She can’t cry
"This is not good, Nath," Kadakali walked to Nath, who had a sad expression on his face as he looked at Elliana crying silently, sitting on the large rock.
"What is not good?" Nath took a deep breath, blinking back the sadness from his eyes.
"Arizona. I think she is emotional for some reason. The glaciers are cracking. It would be a problem for humanity if she kept at this," Kadakali notified him, and Nath hummed.
He walked to the window of the hall and opened the window, letting the cold air enter the hall along with the snow.
With his eyes closed, he extended his hand towards the glacier and took a deep breath.
’Baraphē parinata karā’ Nath said, and the large glaciers that have cracked turned back to how they were, making him sigh.
This wasn’t the first time it was happening. Every time Elliana cried in the human kingdom, Arizona cried with her.
All those times when Elliana used to get beaten up, only Nath knows how hard it was to control a mother, who was weeping for her daughter’s pain.
Every wound on Elliana’s body was taken by Arizona. She shared every single pain with her daughter. That was the main reason Elliana’s wounds used to heal so fast even when her witch powers or siren powers weren’t activated.
Arizona used to bear it all, and not once did she complain about it to anyone.
How could she when her daughter was taking all those wounds and heartaches directly, and she was hiding here, praying from the moon goddess to let Elliana live?
As a fiance, the only thing Nath could promise Arizona was that he would never let Elliana be violated. That was exactly how Yaretzi entered Elliana’s life. He had asked for some witches and pulled some strings so that she could go into that region and see the power influx in that zone.
Nath’s witches always suppressed Elliana’s powers and aura, and that’s why no one found out about her all the time, but that day when that human girl threw Elliana in front of those boys, even Nath was scared.
So without thinking twice, he let a witch discover her so that she could be saved.
Elliana’s wedding was never in the plans. It shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Sebastian was right about this. This wedding was nothing more than a curse and accident.
Elliana wasn’t supposed to get married to that dangerous prince, but when they noticed that she was considerably and comparatively happy in that vampire kingdom, they kept quiet.
Even if it hurt his heart when Nath found out she was married to the vampire prince and nearly destroyed the castle in rage, when he saw her smiling face that day, he couldn’t do anything.
She was happy. And as much as he hated that vampire, he could kill for that smile on her face, bearing the heartache was nothing.
Now it was the same smile that has been wiped from her face. Nath clenched his hand around the window sill, closing his eyes.
If only he didn’t love Elliana so much, things wouldn’t be so difficult for him. If he wasn’t madly in love with her, he wouldn’t be so confused about what he wants.
On one hand, he wants to be happy that she got her heart broken so that she could love and care for that vampire prince less, but on the other hand, he can’t see her cry like this either.
"Nath, I think we should stop Arizona. At this pace, she will let the entire world know that the queen of the ice is crying over something.
Arizona is the same woman who doesn’t blink even when she wiped an entire clan of demons. So for a woman as strong as her to cry, you know what it means, right?" Jalizana walked to Nath, placing her hand on his shoulder, knowing all too well that this is an emotional time for all of them.
Their princess was heartbroken, and even when all of them are ready to lay down their lives for her safety, they can’t go there and wipe her tears.
"No. No one should go to Arizona at this time. Right now she is not the ice queen. She is a mother who is in pain. A mother who is burning up in agony. The entire room around her must be burning with her helplessness, so going inside that room will only lead to your death," Nath sighed taking a deep breath.
"Then what about Gertrude? She was going to attack Elliana when you kidnapped her from her room. Do you want to investigate her? But you and I both know what will happen if you went there right now. You will kill her," Jalizana said, and Nath hummed, leaning on the wall with his eyes closed.
"The mother is here burning the entire castle and the daughter there is making the sky mourn with her.
If this continues, do you think you will be able to keep her hidden from the dark witches? Gertrude already sensed her. How many witches will come and sense her?" Kadakali walked to Nath.
"And wait, she is singing too. She is in the middle of a fucking island that is surrounded by the sirens, and she is singing a song. I know that we all are sad for her, and she wants to let out her emotions, but Nath, she can’t. This is the responsibility that comes with being a princess of the witch world. She can’t cry just like that," Kadakali roared.
"She is a human with emotions!" Nath shouted.
"She is not!! We all know she is not human. A human isn’t supposed to have the world’s strongest witches trying to protect her! It’s her duty to keep her emotions intact. And if she can’t do that, she can fucking -"
Pat!
Kadakali’s face whipped to the side, and she looked at Nath in horror and shock.
However, Nath wasn’t the one who slapped her. Kadakali turned her face and looked at Jalizana, who was seething with anger.
"How can you be so cruel, Kadakali? You are the softest of us all. How can you say something like that without thinking twice? Arizona is fucking crying. That girl is not crying and singing because she is loving it. Where did your emotions go -"
"I want to protect her! Call me wrong and evil, but it’s because I care for her! The sirens, you know what they’ll do to her if they find her. Can’t you guys see that? They will shred her into pieces.
They’ll eat every single cell of her body to extract that power locked inside her. And it’s all fucking our fault," Kadakali screamed, and realization finally dawned upon everyone.
"Nath -" Jalizana turned to Nath, who had already left, making them sigh.
