The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride
Chapter 109: Shapeshifter

Chapter 109: Shapeshifter

Meanwhile, Sebastian entered the palace with his grandpa and cousins.

"Just you? And here I thought your wife would be present at the gate with a welcoming bouquet for us. I mean, it’s the first time we are coming here in her presence," Sebastian’s elder cousin’s sister said in her soft yet sarcastic voice.

"These things are prepared when you come announced. You are talking about manners when you didn’t even have the decency to call beforehand and tell me about your arrival? Luckily I was in the palace and not out for work," Sebastian smirked, his gaze landing on his grandpa who coughed awkwardly.

When insulting his sister, Sebastian made sure he relayed this message to everyone that coming to his palace unannounced was quite dirty on their side when his wife is a human.

"Is your wife still scared of vampires? Has she not learned her lesson - I mean learned how to live with vampires? She is living with the most dangerous vampire in the nation for god’s sake," his sister commented, understanding his underlying meaning.

"It depends. This dangerous vampire actually treats his human wife properly more than many vampires treat their mates," Sebastian smirked, indirectly hinting at her relationship with her mate, and his sister’s eyes turned violent at the sudden provocation.

"Sebastian!" She growled and was about to lunge at him when Stephano stepped forward, holding her hand in place.

"You are here as a guest. You guys can fight when he is in the royal Kingdom. What kind of impression do you want to give to the human princess when you are meeting her for the first time? Don’t give them any reasons to laugh behind our backs," Stephano’s voice was calm, but his gaze made their sister back off with a scowl.

"You should tell this to Sebastian. He is the youngest of us all and yet dares to -" She stopped speaking when Sebastian nodded at his grandpa.

"You guys go inside. I have an important tap," Sebastian said before walking to the garden area with narrowed eyes.

"What is it, Garry? Don’t you know my grandpa has come here unannounced? We already need to talk about how your team didn’t inform me of such important things when they are precisely asked to keep an observation on the royals," Sebastian said, and Garry bit his lips.

The prince was already angry, and yet he was here with another bad news.

"Are you going to say anything or just waste my time?" Sebastian pinched the space between his brows.

"Sir, we are sorry to inform you of this but a shapeshifter kid accidentally entered the forest regions, and he is running towards the palace. He is quite scared. Barely 13 years old," Garry said, and Sebastian sighed.

"Okay. There’s nothing to worry about. Just get a hold of him before he comes to the main entrance of the palace. I don’t want my grandpa to think my security is useless," Sebastian said and walked inside the living room.

"It’s been ten minutes already and your wife is yet to come and greet us," His sister said, and Sebastian looked at Miss Zoya.

"Where is the Princess?"

"Sir, I will go call her now. She went to the forest to take a walk," Miss Zoya said, and Sebastian hummed before pausing.

"Where did you say she went?" His pupils dilated before he rushed out.

The shapeshifter was in the area coming to the palace area. It means she will encounter him. Who knows what kind of animal he has changed himself into? Sh*t! Sebastian gritted his teeth.

*Gasp* Elliana took a deep breath and placed her hand over her heart to calm her raging heart. That bear or whatever that was was quite fast. He was small yet so quick on his feet.

Elliana gulped and turned around when the bear turned into a panther and started running again in horror. What kind of monster was that?!!

*Roar* she heard the panther roar behind her, and her eyes widened in pure shock and fear.

"Aaaaaah! Mr. Marino! Mr. Marino!" Elliana screamed.

Where the hell were his spies that were keeping look out for her? Weren’t they supposed to come and save her at a time like this? Or were they useless spies good for nothing? Elliana blinked her eyes furiously to keep the sweat from blurring her vision.

Her heart has never beaten so fast. It felt like she was running for her life. But wasn’t she running for life only?

She wanted to call for Nath to come and save her life, but he said that he was going to an important meeting that needed his urgent presence.

Running was the only option left.

"Oomph!" Elliana stumbled ahead and fell on her knees, scratching her legs in the process.

"Mr. Marino," Elliana whimpered and stood from her place.

"Woah. What the hell? Why is he running like that? I have never seen him so annoyed," Their sister said before they walked out of the palace to see Sebastian running towards the forest.

They used their vampire speed and rushed behind Sebastian thinking something severe indeed happened.

"Princess!" Sebastian roared to find her soon, and Elliana, who heard his voice ran in the direction.

"Mr. Marino!" Elliana ran towards the exit of the forest, and as soon as she saw him, she didn’t waste a single second in running to him at full speed.

Sebastian looked behind Elliana and noticed that his guards caught the shapeshifter. He breathed a sigh of relief, looking at the girl who was running to her with fear and hope in her eyes.

Hope that he won’t let anything happen to her. His gaze raked her body as she kept running towards him, and he thinned his lips when he noticed the scratches on her legs and her dress torn from the hem.

The royals paused at some distance from Sebastian when they saw him standing there causally.

They heard the human crying and saw her running towards Sebastian at the best speed she could.

"Mr. Marino," Elliana jumped into Sebastian’s arms, wrapping her legs around his torso and hugging him for dear life, shocking everyone who witnessed the scene.

She hugged him like a koala bear hugging the gree to camouflage and save its life.

Sebastian stumbled back a step by the impact and held her hips in place, sighing when he felt her shivering form.

Everyone was sure that Sebastian would react and throw the girl away from himself or just throw a tantrum because of how dirty she was and how she dared to hug him like that, but to their utter shock, Sebastian held her tightly to his body and turned around.

His face was probably neutral and void of emotions because his eyes didn’t show any emotion if he was feeling anything.

Sebastian gazed at her legs which were quite exposed and sighed before placing her down.

"Princess, look at me. It’s gone," Sebastian said when Elliana didn’t leave his shirt, and he sighed before taking off his overcoat.

He bent, wrapped the overcoat around her waist before picking her up again, and like an obedient child, she wrapped her legs around him again, snuggling her face into his neck.

To say that the royals were shocked when he didn’t throw the girl was an understatement, this was way beyond that. Sebastian picked her himself, right? He did it by will. They looked at each other before looking at the youngest and most dangerous prince who walked inside the palace.

"Excuse us," Sebastian said and went straight to the stairs that led to their room.

"Miss Zoya, please attend to my family while I calm her," Sebastian’s voice was curt, a clear indication that no one is to disturb him when he is with her, and the head maid looked at the princess’s shivering form in regret and nodded.
