Chapter 779: Chapter 433 Value (First Update)_3
Rod glanced deep into his consciousness.
At that moment, his mind was quite chaotic, but he mainly pondered the problem concerning the Six-Armed Snake Demon. Asa seemed to recognize this demon but could not recall anything specific due to his vast memories and insufficiently strong soul.
"Asa."
Rod’s voice suddenly rang within Asa’s soul.
"Why are you so afraid of soul torment?"
Asa snorted, "Fool, my spirit is undying and everlasting, which also means I will forever endure endless torment. The terror of soul torture lies beyond your imagination; the longer you withstand it, the more painful it becomes... Ah, inheritor of the Source Heavenly God, do you want to learn how to torment the soul? Hahaha, it’s fortunate that I am a master of soul torture since there are few like me who lack the sensation of pain."
Book of Knowledge immediately exposed his lie, "The soul is the ultimate receptor to external feedback, there’s no way it lacks pain sensation."
Asa coldly snorted, "How do you know I’m not special? Okay, inheritor of the Source Heavenly God, what do you want from me?"
He paused, then said.
"Be aware, I won’t do anything beyond the agreement; I’m only here to provide some information. Destruction is inevitable, and I just seek pleasure from the futile struggles of you worms."
Rod coughed and relayed the method from the Book of the Future to him.
"Impossible!"
Asa suddenly roared angrily.
"Absolutely impossible! That must be the Traitor’s suggestion! I will never agree!"
Rod calmly said, "What did you just say about the terror of soul torture?"
Asa choked, and his voice immediately dimmed.
"I can’t do it; to invade your soul, I entered in spirit state without a soul body, thus I lost my spiritual energy and was left with only mental will. A powerful creature like the Soul Devouring Demon won’t even notice me."
Rod thought for a moment and said, "You can make a request, if it’s not excessive."
Asa fell silent for a moment, then spoke.
"I want two requests; first, when you were chasing me, some traitors managed to escape before the battle. I didn’t sense their souls dispersing, so they weren’t caught. They are the ones who slipped through the net. Catch them, torture them to death, and hand their souls over to me."
"Second, give the Book of the Future a harsh beating in front of me."
The first request wasn’t an issue, as all Doomsday believers deserved death.
But the second request was more problematic; after all, the Book of the Future had suggested a solution, and beating it openly might anger it.
Rod coughed, "The second request is a bit much."
Asa furiously exclaimed, "The pain of death and destruction is a torment that a soul can never evade; that guy is framing me, it’s revenge! If you don’t agree, I won’t do it!"
Rod thought that these two were truly at each other’s throats, but for the sake of Nightmare Fuel and Divinity, he reluctantly agreed.
Asa snorted coldly, his soul split in two on its own; half remained in the Dream Realm, the other half Rod clenched in his hand, leaving the Dream Realm.
The moment consciousness returned, Rod heard Soron gasping like a bull, along with the distant roar of intense battle.
Spiritual Communication shot from afar and landed in front of them.
"The battle situation is critical, all forces from Star Ring Town have been deployed, temporary support is not available."
Soron’s face darkened, "This is bad, things don’t look good. The reinforcements that just arrived are no longer available, and the reserve forces have also moved out... we can’t keep going like this, Rod, I’ll go distract the Soul Devouring Demon..."
Rod laughed, "Then both of us would be flattened by the Soul Devouring Demon? Professor Soron, don’t worry, I already have a plan."
With a flick of his right hand, a grey soul flew out.
"What is that?" Soron exclaimed.
Rod casually responded, "A soul moved by love and courage... get ready, Professor, we’re going to approach them!"
Although Soron was half-skeptical, he still turned around and ran towards the Soul Devouring Demon.
In mid-air.
The grey soul approached the Soul Devouring Demon and suddenly swelled, transforming into a bizarre symbol.
An odd radiance spread from the depths of his soul, making the symbol shimmer.
In the next instant, with a deafening roar, the Soul Devouring Demon, ignoring the Six-Armed Snake Demon it was fighting, turned and pounced on the symbol, smashing it with a swipe of its claw, its powerful spiritual energy reducing it to dust finer than micro-particles.
This, however, left its back wide open.
The Six-Armed Snake Demon lifted all six Giant Swords, with mighty Spiritual Energy rising from below.
Amidst the glint of sword light, the Giant Swords heavily chopped down on the Soul Devouring Demon’s body.
A sound unheard before thundered as the Soul Devouring Demon collapsed on the spot, its Spiritual Energy sluggish, with a gaping hole torn in its soul.
"Go now!"
Rod urgently shouted, quite unsatisfied with Soron’s lack of skill, fearing this fleeting vulnerability might have been missed.
Fortunately, Jessica’s strike was powerful enough that the Soul Devouring Demon took several seconds to try to rise, enabling Soron to catch up.
"Die!"
Rod raised his right hand, the sickle’s crescent moonlight forming a continuous line, thrusting into the soul vulnerability of the Soul Devouring Demon, violently ripped it out.
A muffled sound erupted, and the Soul Devouring Demon instantly fell apart, spilling its innards like a bag cut loose.
In Star Square, a streak of Golden Light flashed by, Divinity +3.
At the bottom of Rod’s eyes, a black inscription moved across, Nightmare Fuel +10.
Excellent!
Rod immediately revealed a smile.
In just this short moment, 30 units of Nightmare Fuel and a future 9 points of Divinity had come into his hands.
The battle at Starry Sky City was too worthwhile!
