Chapter 770: Chapter 430 Sith Giant Brain_3
Is this the truth?
Megan’s heart was filled with shock.
No wonder the King and Horus valued him so much, he truly is this year’s brightest rising star.
With such wisdom, his strength even seems secondary.
But he is too kind-hearted.
If he could accept Calier’s systemic theories, maybe he could shine even brighter.
Megan made up her mind in secret.
I must influence him, to bring him over to my camp.
Young people always have illusions about the world, he’ll understand someday that this world has no place for mercy.
On the other side, Luo Weiya looked at Rod with an inexplicable glint in his eyes.
"Kid, I don’t know why, but wherever you are, you always manage to create miracles. I still remember the Spiritual Tsunami you triggered at Storm Pass and the sunlight sword you unleashed," he said.
"Even though they are unique soul creations that are hard to replicate, you have not just created one miracle, but many, from the very first sewers to the present Star Ring Town, you always manage to do things that seem impossible to us."
Rod chuckled humbly, "That’s right, all these are talents and capabilities that I developed through hard training."
Horus exclaimed, "So it is. I had always thought that you had received some fragment of an Ancient God’s soul or will, or that you carried some kind of ancient mark. I did not expect that you had gained these abilities through hard training. After the battle is over, I must make sure the Holy Church promotes your positive image properly, to make everyone understand the importance of hard training."
Rod gave a dry laugh, "How could it have anything to do with those things? My achievements are all due to my own hard work, with not a trace of impurity."
In the Dream Realm, the Book of the Future sighed, "Adorlis, is there a star that increases face’s thickness? I think it would be quite suitable for the master."
The Book of Knowledge snapped back, "Shut up! Don’t call my name, and don’t talk about the master behind his back. Although the master is foolish, stubborn, capricious, and ignorant, he has come this far solely because of me. But after all, he is our master. The Dream Realm chose him for a reason, and the choices of this infinitely great existence are beyond our understanding."
In the hall, Horus seemed like he wanted to say more, but he was interrupted by Luo Weiya.
"Time is of the essence. Now that we’ve found the cause, let’s get moving," he said.
"I will personally search for the Sith Giant Brain. Horus, take sixteen Shadows to aid Regret Ridge’s battlefield."
"Megan, you will stay in command of Star Ring Town. If there is anything significant, contact me, and don’t forget your main duty."
Luo Weiya looked at him, his eyes sparkling.
A faint smile appeared on Megan’s aged face, and he bowed, "I’m well aware of what I should do, Fire Son sir. Victory will prove the righteousness of my path; failure would only bring shame to Calier’s secret forces."
"Every one of Calier’s Taboo Shadows thinks the same way."
Luo Weiya nodded, no longer speaking.
Then, they rapidly finished assigning the reinforcement tasks. This round, they had over forty Shadows and three newly promoted Guardians. Only fifteen Shadows remained in Star Ring Town, while all the others were dispatched.
Rod was heading to a gorge known as Scar of Death, over four hundred thousand yards from Star Ring Town.
It was a great distance.
In the past, traveling such a lengthy distance within the depths of the Dark World would have been unimaginable.
But now, Rod had become a Guardian.
He was no longer the same.
He pulled out the Star Disk to confirm his direction, carried the Red Tear Stone to avoid the corrosion of the Black Fog, donned the Silent Blank Rune to conceal his Spiritual Energy disturbances, prepared the Silence Bell to minimize combat disruptions.
Finally ensuring that the flame emblem was functioning properly, Rod set out.
Jessica accompanied him to the Scar of Death, to reinforce the First Level Combatants who were fighting there.
As they left Star Ring Town, the faint light of the flame quickly shrank behind them.
In the blink of an eye, it was engulfed by the endless Black Fog World.
The black fog here was dense and heavy, reducing Rod’s visibility to four hundred yards, yet it far surpassed Jessica’s thirty yards.
"You’re incredible, little Rod," she said.
Jessica’s eyebrows curved beautifully when she smiled, her slender eyes like crescent moons, shimmering as if water was dancing in her gaze.
"Just like they said, you have quite a range of functions, and fighting alongside you is a very comfortable affair. But I never expected you would be able to fight shoulder to shoulder with me so soon. Do you have any special growth techniques?"
Rod smiled, "Sister Jessica, I don’t have any special techniques. It’s all due to my unwavering spirit and relentless effort. 99% of my accomplishments today come from my sweat, and the other factors only make up 1%."
At that moment, Jessica’s radiant smile was like a flash of light, her white teeth visible even in the dark.
"Little Rod, you’re really interesting. I thought you were a fascinating person back in the secret branch. Unfortunately, I was very busy growing during that critical time, otherwise we might have had more interaction. Teresa really got lucky there."
Rod said with a smile, "It’s not too late now."
Jessica nodded seriously, "Fighting side by side is the best way to strengthen our bonds."
She gave a sly smile and continued.
"Little Rod, you’ve just become a First Level Combatant, and advanced to Guardian. Your realm isn’t stable yet, and you can’t fully control your power. You must be careful when we fight later. My Awakened State is very strong. If you find yourself in danger, just run to my feet. My sword won’t hit you."
Rod remembered the formidable might of that massive Snake Demon on the battlefield and nodded, "I understand."
Jessica turned her head and looked at him earnestly.
"Little Rod, it’s normal for me to be stronger than you. The gap between First Level Combatants is significant. Even if you’ve broken through to Twelth Level Spiritual Energy, you can’t become a Commander. You are still a First Level Combatant."
A thought struck Rod, and he asked curiously, "Then how can one become a Special Level Combatant?"
Jessica smiled, "Of course, it’s a Soul Transformation. To fully accept and control the Source Law, you need at least Fourteen Level Spiritual Energy to possibly achieve that."
"Fourteen Level?"
Rod felt a shock in his heart.
"The gap between First Level Combatants and Special Level Combatants is that big?"
Jessica shook her head lightly, "You’re mistaken. Fourteen Level Spiritual Energy isn’t the key, the key is the soul’s control over the Source Law. There are several individuals in the Royal City whose Spiritual Power Levels have already broken through Fourteen Level, but they remain First Level Combatants."
For some reason, Rod felt a sinking feeling in his heart.
There were several stars in the Dream Realm that had achieved Quantification, but it was clear they had no direct connection to his Soul.
Otherwise, the Royal City would have long since discovered that he had mastered the Source Law.
But in reality, it was the Dream Realm that had mastered the Source Law.
If this was the standard, then he could never become a Special Level Combatant.
"Is that the only standard?" Rod asked, unable to hide his frustration.
Jessica smiled, "No, there’s another standard, one that was set for Alan."
A flicker of realization came to Rod, yes, the Starfire Series Combatants probably couldn’t master the Source Law, but Alan was also a Special Level Combatant.
"When you surpass a certain limit, you’ll understand this standard."
Jessica glanced at the Star Disk in her hand.
"Let’s go this way, we’re too close to Starry Sky City."
Rod looked up, but could see nothing through the dense Black Fog.
However, he could somehow sense, deep within that fog, the presence of something immensely vast and unsettling.
Was that the Royal City of the Starry Kingdom?
The symbol of the end of the Fire Epoch.
Had they ever considered that they might be the last Kingdom of the Human Epoch?
Rod withdrew his gaze.
No matter what, the glory you’ve lost will be received by me.
With me here, Trolian will stand eternally upon this earth.
