Chapter 745: Chapter 421 Human Pus_2
According to Asa, the Heroic Spirit Hall definitely could not have been created during the Third Epoch, nor was it any more likely to have been from the Fourth.
It could only exist in the Second Epoch, after the appearance of the Black Fog.
Rod frowned slightly. If what Asa said was true, the Black Fog had a significant connection to the Abyss, and it might even be its origin.
He recounted Asa’s words in full, causing Kai to furrow his brows.
"How do you know such secretive knowledge so clearly?"
Rod replied casually, "I acquired this through arduous study and relentless effort."
Kai asked in surprise, "Is there a record of it in the Great Book Library? Or is it the research of a certain school within the Royal City? Never mind, that’s not important, what is crucial is the path we should choose. Based on our understanding, halls created by deities of the Second Epoch are usually immense. If we take the wrong path, we’ll be in trouble. The exit won’t stay open for long, and we absolutely can’t be trapped within the Abyss..."
"Don’t rush, Kai."
Asa said gently.
"I’ve already seen the path ahead."
Kai became suddenly excited. "Lord Aran, is it your ’Eye of Omen’? Did it see something?"
Seeing Aran give a slight nod, he exclaimed excitedly, "That’s great!"
He strode forward vigorously, all his doubts and worries vanishing in an instant.
Rod asked in surprise, "Eye of Omen... is it a foresight ability?"
Kai said with a broad smile, "Exactly. It’s one of Aran’s twenty Fire Sparks. Whenever it opens its eyes, it points out the correct direction without fail."
Rod exclaimed, "Aren’t Fire Sparks fragments of characteristics? Why does it have such a strong ability?"
Kai gave him a strange look.
"The gaps between different Fire Sparks are huge. Doesn’t your own Fire Spark also possess an exceptionally powerful characteristic ability?"
Rod choked up, knowing well he couldn’t reveal that he actually wasn’t part of the Starfire Series, and that what he possessed were a Star, and the power to construct from the Dream Realm.
Luckily, Kai didn’t press further, instead boasting proudly, "Lord Aran’s Fire Spark is extremely strong. He alone is equivalent to an elite combat unit, capable of completing the most complex missions on his own. In this aspect, no one in the whole of Trolian can compare."
Rod praised, "As expected of the First Knight, the strongest warrior of Trolian."
In his mind, the Book of the Future was beginning to doubt its own existence, "Why can’t I see it?"
Asa mocked, "I’m not surprised at all. You, that worthless book, are of no use whatsoever. A mere Fire Spark’s ability has surpassed you."
The Book of the Future retorted furiously, "You’ve lived for tens of thousands of years, and yet, were you not defeated by a newcomer? Where have those tens of thousands of years gone, to a dog?"
The two immediately started bickering with each other again.
Rod ignored the noise in the Dream Realm and continued to remain vigilant, observing his surroundings with the Eye of the Soul.
The Heroic Spirit Hall was immense, reaching hundreds of yards high, with correspondingly wide corridors. Every decoration and sculpture was hundreds of times larger than normal.
This was obviously not meant for human scale.
Strange wisps of light and shadow floated around, with black, barely visible gas swirling within the hall, as if some great horror lurked within.
Rod’s heart was always on edge. Through the vision of the Eye of the Soul, he could see far, though he could not penetrate walls and there were limits. The space here was very peculiar.
Yet, Aran’s pace never faltered for even a moment. He seemed to know exactly where he was and where he should go, leading Rod and Kai swiftly to a vast circular hall.
Rod caught sight of a huge, strange glyph on the floor at a glance.
Dream language:
Human!
Rod exclaimed, "What is this?" He instinctively looked up and saw two grotesque and massive statues embedded in the ceiling.
The Book of Knowledge suddenly warned, "Danger! Those represent divine figures, and statues using the images of the gods possess bizarre powers! You must leave this place at once!"
"Too late!"
Asa suddenly laughed maniacally. "Those are the guardian statues created by the flesh-reborn Ancient God Heragotos and the Giant Ancestor Ehaius. You have disturbed the godly guardians, and for your arrogance, you shall pay with death!"
As he spoke, with a loud roar, the two divine statues broke free from the ceiling, a tide-like surge of Spiritual Energy rising within their bodies, black Abyssal Aura seeping from their surfaces.
"Be careful!" Rod shouted, "These are the guardians left here by the Ancient Gods! Their Spiritual Power Strength must be at least Twelfth Level!"
Aran chuckled softly, "Little Rod, you know quite a lot. You are indeed a valuable team member."
A flash of white light appeared in his hand, and a sword light spanning thousands of yards tore through the air. Before the two statues could fully break free from the ceiling, they were cleaved in two and fell from the sky, smashing onto the ground.
Asa sneered, "Naive. Do you think that would destroy them? The Abyss’s power has already corrupted these statues. Their spirits have turned into Abyssal Demons. These are divine demons!"
Rod hurriedly warned, "They’re not dead yet!"
Sure enough, the next moment, countless black mists erupted from the cut surfaces of the statues, coiling together to form two massive demonic shadows.
Asa’s laughter echoed, "Hahaha, now you’re really finished, right? Even Special Level Combatants cannot rival the power of the Abyss."
