THE Knight's Hidden Princess
Chapter 54: The Rebels Demand

Chapter 54: The Rebels Demand

I had been kidnapped!

The shocking horrifying truth settled in me as I was shoved into the ground roughly. My hands scraped against the dirt, pain shooting up against my palms and the impact sent more pain to my arm that was still trying to heal from the wounds. I barely had the time to react before I was suddenly yanked back up to my feet and made to sit somewhere that felt like a wood.

"Stay right here and don’t go anywhere!" A gruff voice ordered in the darkness that surrounded me.

I turned my head towards the voice, trying to see who was talking but the black sack that had been placed over my head obscured my vision. Immediately they found me in the woods, the men wasted no time in acting like bunch of barbarians.

They had shoved a sack of clothing on my head and had heaved me over my shoulders carrying me to the woods. I could have fought them and taken them on but part of me was curious as to who this people were, besides I needed to be careful and be rational about it.

The blindfold was suddenly yanked away from my head and I squinted a little bit, trying to make my eyes adjusted to the sudden brightness. Four men stood in front of me, their faces covered by a mask, only their eyes which gazed coldly at me were visible.

"So this is the famous princess of Iravia?" The man in a gruff voice said, "The great King Sigurd most prized treasure?"

If only that were true! I thought to myself wryly as I stared at the men. "Who are you and what do you want with me?"

"Revenge." Another man said, his voice was low and calm but it was filled with anger, an emotion I was all too familiar with from the people under my father’s rule.

The man grabbed a knife turning it in his hands as he began to pace the room slowly. "For years we’ve lived under your father’s rule, obeying his every command no matter how ridiculous it sounded_" the man started as he continued to pace, "We give everything we have to offer and all your father did was take. But that ends now, we are going to take from him instead." He said, his gaze landing on me.

Ah, so this was what it was then, using me to get to my father! I thought to myself as I gaze up at the men. "So if I am to get this correctly, you are taking me because you are hoping to hurt me through my father?" I asked and the men didn’t answer, not like I was expecting an answer from them anyway. "Well, I am sorry to break this news to you, but I am not really worth much to my father and I don’t even hold any power in the court, so it doesn’t matter what you do to me really, no one will care. Especially my father."

"Oh, that may be so." The man drawled out, "But there is one person who will care about your disappearance. He is the bravest knight in all of the kingdom, Sir Reagan, your husband."

I blinked at the mention of the name, hoping no one saw how the name affected me but from the way the man’s eyes seemed to smile, I could tell he knew. Keeping my expression neutral, I stared up at the man, "You are wasting your time."

"Are we though?" The man asked leaning down so he could look at me, "You see we brought our troubles to the knight. Telling him our demands, imploring him to speak to the king on our behalf. He promised us all would change and even sent his brother to settle with us, but we’ve been waiting and if anything thing seemed to be getting worse instead!"

I frowned as I took in the piece of information he just told me. "You are from the western provinces, the rebels the spoke about?"

"Looks like we have a reputation gentlemen!" The man said almost as if he was proud of himself.

Damn it Miguel! I thought to myself as I cursed Miguel in my head. Here I was thinking he would have done the damn job everything I told him. This is what happens when you gave a man a lady’s job! I muse as I stared up at the men.

Well, I have to get out of this situation! "So what’s the plan now?"

"Use you as bait to get the knight to come here."

I was not impressed! I arched a brow at him, "That’s your plan?"

"Seems the lady isn’t impressed." The man said and laughter came from the group, low and mocking.

I rolled my eyes at him, "Of course I am not impressed because Reagan would never fall for it and come here, besides he is the bravest knight in the kingdom for a reason. He has conquered many kingdoms and you think, bunch of men like you would be able to stop him?"

"Listen to me princess," The man suddenly grabbed me by my face, "We do not want to kill him, we just need him desperate enough to meet our demands."

Another man stepped forward, staring down at me. "We know the king doesn’t care for you and you hold no power in the court." He said, "We know all of that and we also know the king cares for the cares most importantly for Sir Reagan, which is why he will listen to his demands."

"And you think this great plan of yours will work?"

The man leaned away from me, letting go of my chin which I had to move around so I could get some feeling back there. "A man’s greatest weakness, is the woman he loves princess."

"Only if he loves me." I mumbled weakly, "You assume too much."

"We do not care about your lover’s spat!" A man said with a gruff voice, "He will come and if you know what’s good you will pray he comes."

I heaved out a sigh, tilting my head to the side I stared up at the men. "Actually, there is one thing you must know gentlemen..." I said standing up to my full height, "I am the wife of the bravest knight of the kingdom, and did you really think I would be that defenseless?"

"What is she talking abou_"

Before he could complete his sentence, I was already drawing my fist back and sending it right to his face.
