Chapter 99: The Eradication of Mosquitoes
Chapter 99: Chapter 99: The Eradication of Mosquitoes
No Brainer and Unhappy had been holding back for a long time, as they were naturally the type to go crazy when surrounded by people.
Now, seeing an abnormal beast the size of a buffalo with a carapace, they immediately charged forward, using their mana to wield the Golden Jiao Scissors, which transformed into two yellow flood dragons and began to cut and battle.
Mosquitoes able to escape from a sea of fire are hardly weak, but Mystic Sect Immortals are even more difficult to handle.
These abnormal beasts follow the ancient way, automatically gaining points every time they level up.
However, the current Mystic Sect Immortals not only can choose their points when leveling up, but they can also refine magical treasures to either enhance their strengths or compensate for their weaknesses.
The only one somewhat struggling was Master Huang Long. As a member of the Dragon Clan, his way of adding points also follows the ancient method, and his only magical treasure is a treasure sword made from his own teeth and nails.
While others are crushing weak enemies, he ends up in a balanced fight. Although his strength lies in high defense and toughness, his new treasure is still just armor, offering toughness without dealing damage.
He fought with a mosquito that had some dragon bloodline, sporting horns on its head, for half a day; despite having the upper hand, he still couldn’t kill the opponent...
Actually, the main focus of this battle was on the Western Sect against the Mosquito Daoist. As long as the Mosquito Daoist died, this group of small mosquitoes would no longer pose any threat.
Nezha did not personally take action here. Whether he participated more was insignificant given his status as a Heavenly Immortal.
He just pulled Long Ji along, standing alongside Xuan Du to watch the excitement, with the Mountain and River Map draped behind him and the Nine-Grade White Lotus atop his head, while Long Ji had the Plain Cloud Realm Banner atop hers.
Xuan Du maintaining the Tai Chi Diagram looked not extremely relaxed, but effortless—he was just slacking off. If he were to take action, there would be nothing left for others to do.
The same went for Duobao, who appeared as if his longsword was dancing, but among those present, how many could withstand a few of his blows?
He was merely slacking off as well.
Here, boundless flames covered the Blood Mountain Range, burning everything to oblivion. Once deeply eroded by the Blood Sea and resembling soil irrigated with blood, it all turned into blood-colored ’chocolate’.
Mosquito eggs and larvae inside the mountain were directly steamed by the high temperature, emitting a unique aroma, so even the Heavenly Soldiers of spider-type couldn’t help wanting a bite—it was just too tempting!
However, those sent to Nezha were all well-behaved demons, and in the end, they maintained their dignity among the Mystic Sect disciples.
On the other side, the battle between the Western Sect and the Mosquito Daoist finally reached a fever pitch.
Earlier, taking advantage of the incomplete formation, the Mosquito Daoist used divine skills to kill several Western Sect disciples. Now, with the Quasi-Saint Realm existed Dashizhi and Maitreya presiding, those with lower cultivation integrated into the array, leaving no chance for the Mosquito Daoist.
The Mosquito Daoist furiously stabbed at the Western Sect disciples forming a tower with a black blade longsword, but layers of golden light obstructed him. Although each attack could siphon spirit light, it didn’t really hurt people.
Dashizhi and Maitreya exchanged glances as array eyes, the former producing a purple-gold alms bowl glowing with golden light, and the latter directly took out the Seven Treasures Miao Tree.
The disciple Xu Puti had died, and they absolutely could not let this matter’s cause-and-effect implicate the Western Sect further.
Dashizhi brought out the purple-gold alms bowl and slammed it down.
From the Mosquito Daoist’s perspective, the entire array was covered by the bowl, leaving no room to avoid. As a fierce beast of primordial species, he surged with ferocity, thinking, even if I die, you won’t have it easy!
He then charged forward with the black blade, both sides collided, and a soft buzzing sound came from within the purple-gold alms bowl, with such force that Dashizhi nearly lost his grip.
Seeing the bowl constantly attacked by the Mosquito Daoist, disrupting the spirit light of the treasure, Dashizhi hurriedly increased the mana injected, hoping to refine it.
The two sides contested, but Dashizhi’s cultivation was ultimately far behind the Mosquito Daoist’s. Even with the treasure’s aid, he couldn’t suppress the Mosquito Daoist.
If the struggle continued, the purple-gold alms bowl might shatter, so Dashizhi had no choice but to withdraw it.
Underneath the bowl, the Mosquito Daoist had exposed his true form: a black mosquito the size of a calf, with six blood wings and body covered in strange red markings.
The black mosquito seemed unaffected by the refining power of the purple-gold alms bowl, like a wisp of black smoke rushing toward Dashizhi’s bowl-holding hand.
Maitreya beside him shouted towards his junior, "Be careful!" then immediately unleashed the always-charged Seven Treasures Miao Tree, striking the black mosquito ahead with its seven-colored divine light.
Mosquito Daoist seemed unaffected while contesting Dashizhi within the bowl, but how could he be unscathed? Though he realized the attack was coming, his injured body couldn’t dodge.
He directly took the full hit of the Seven Treasures Miao Tree.
As a hindworld Supreme Treasure crafted from the Geng Metal Bodhi Tree belonging to Saint Zhunti, combined with Seven Treasures (Gold, Silver, Glazed Tile, Crystal, Mother-of-Pearl, Ruby, Agate), it was no less inferior to any of the Four Immortal Slaying Swords taken out individually.
Being an assassin-type, even though a fierce beast with a relatively robust flesh, taking a solid hit left him gravely injured.
The most apparent sign was his speed plummeting.
Maitreya and Dashizhi straightforwardly combined forces to mobilize the Seven Treasures Miao Tree against the Mosquito Daoist.
The Mosquito Daoist, wild with rage, rammed against the Western Sect’s array, tearing his own skin nearly off, albeit at great discomfort to the disciples of the Western Sect.
But thankfully, there were several disciples with Daluo Cultivation like the Pharmacist, plus Western Sect’s defense-focused unique point allocation, they managed to withstand it brutally.
The ultimate outcome was predictable: the Mosquito Daoist was killed by Maitreya and Dashizhi within the Glazed Tile Buddha Light Array.
As a fierce beast, compared to true innate sacred beings, he was markedly inferior. With the Mosquito Daoist’s physical death, he was unequivocally gone.
Previously, if the Pan Hu Ancestor hadn’t been slain by Saint Tongtian with a single slash through the internet line, perhaps after dozens of Yuan Huis, he would have rebounded in full vigor.
Nezha, sensing the tremors of the world, felt somewhat melancholic, realizing how great he was, having snagged a few people into the Investiture of the Gods and inadvertently or intentionally tricked two Great Experts to death.
Even a hundred Daji or a thousand Deng Chanyu couldn’t compare to a single Pan Hu and Mosquito Daoist!
This battle saw mainly the Western Sect taking action, while everyone else seemed to be just building team spirit, as one Mosquito Daoist barely justified such a grand line-up.
The Western Sect’s extermination was successful; although they lost a few disciples, as the Mosquito Daoist aimed to kill rather than feast at the time, a few of them directly ascended to the Investiture of the Gods to enjoy the blessings.
With the current employment pressure so high, it’s truly a cause for celebration.
Having their own ancestor already dead, the remaining mosquitoes sensibly chose not to continue the hard fight, either entering the Blood Sea or continuing to fly towards the Primordial borders.
The remaining Mystic Sect Immortals were lazy to keep killing too, except for Luo Xuan, the pyromaniac, who seemed somewhat unsatisfied and keen to catch and ignite the remaining mosquitoes.
As for whether killing so many mosquitoes would count as cause-and-effect?
The Mystic Sect was all here; if you tally up the cause-and-effect, just pile it onto us Mystic Sect, and let’s see how you settle the score.
