Hadn’t he been in front all along? How could he have heard her conversation with Auntie Song?

Gu Ya spread his hands, looking innocently, “Yunjin, your voices weren’t exactly quiet. I heard you as soon as I came over; you can’t blame me for that.”

“So, it’s my fault now?” Su Yunjin rolled her eyes.

Gu Ya moved closer to Su Yunjin, with an irritatingly smug smile, “Yunjin, seriously though, will you eat it? If you want, I can cook it for you tomorrow.”

Su Yunjin stepped on Gu Ya’s foot.

“Eat it yourself.”

Gu Ya was unprepared.

The little wife stepped on him several times with muffled grunts.

Ignoring Gu Ya, Su Yunjin walked away. Gu Ya followed her, “Yunjin, it’s alright if you don’t want to eat it. I truly think you don’t need to.”

She couldn’t be bothered with him.

Gu Ya added, “Given my abilities, how hard could it be for you to conceive? Why would you need to eat that stuff? Right?” Toward the end, Gu Ya even winked at her.

After all this talking, was Gu Ya here to boast about his abilities?

Although Su Yunjin didn’t want to admit it, the few times Gu Ya had had his way with her had indeed worn her out. He was like a man who hadn’t seen a woman in eight hundred years, every single time he succeeded.

The last time Gu Ya had his way, Su Yunjin felt uncomfortable for days before she finally felt better. Gu Ya hadn’t mentioned it, but as soon as he did, Su Yunjin remembered everything about that last success.

Su Yunjin was about to kick him again, but Gu Ya dodged it with a laugh. Su Yunjin missed her kick and didn’t try again. There were still many things to tidy up in the kitchen.

She wanted to go back to her room to rest.

Gu Ya helped out his little wife, who was washing dishes in the kitchen, while he moved the tables and chairs back inside the house from the yard.

Previously, back at the Gu Family’s old house, with the fuss created by Mrs. Zhang and Mrs. Han, especially Mrs. Zhang who not only stole from their kitchen but also set fire to their house at the village entrance.

To prevent theft, Su Yunjin always made sure to lock the kitchen door at the old Gu house. Now that she and Gu Ya had moved out on their own,

away from troublemakers like Mrs. Zhang and Mrs. Han, with a wall surrounding the yard, the locked main gate, outsiders couldn’t get in, she and Gu Ya could just secure the yard gate. There was no longer a need to keep the doors locked all the time like before.

After a tiring day, Su Yunjin went to change clothes and inadvertently discovered that the deed for the old house was still with her. She had planned to give it to Mrs. Chu and her younger brother that very evening after dinner. However, she forgot, “My dear, we have a problem!”

“My dear, I still have the deed for the old house. I said I would give it to the fifth brother and his wife tonight, but I got so busy I forgot.” Gu Ya thought it would be something serious.

It was just a house deed after all.

Gu Ya looked unconcerned.

“Yunjin, it’s no big deal. If we didn’t give it today, giving it next time works just the same.” She agreed that Gu Ya was right; if not today, they could find time to give it later.

It didn’t really affect anything, did it?
