The Hunter’s Lively Wife -
Chapter 501 - Chapter 501 Chapter 501 Greeting
Chapter 501: Chapter 501: Greeting Chapter 501: Chapter 501: Greeting Su Yunjin, back in the modern times, studied medicine, and knew a few methods that could help women conceive and bear children. Now that there were many people around, it was not convenient for her to talk about it. After finishing the meal, when Auntie Song was about to leave, she would quietly share one of the methods with her and let Auntie Song try it out with her daughter-in-law.
With many hands, the cooking was quickly done. In the evening, the table was full of dishes, including meat and wine, and Butcher Yu also came.
As soon as he arrived, Butcher Yu congratulated Su Yunjin and Gu Ya, the married couple, on their housewarming. Su Yunjin greeted him with a smile and asked him to sit down.
Gu Ya went and brought out a jar of wine, pouring it for the men seated around. Su Yunjin had prepared glutinous rice balls and sweet soup, and for the women present, she served each of them a bowl of sweet soup. Little Aluo loved the sweet soup; after finishing one bowl, she wanted more, “Mom, the sweet soup Auntie Third made is really delicious, I want more.”
Little Aluo asked for more, and Su Yunjin went to get her another bowl, “Aluo is good, Auntie Third will get you another bowl.” Mrs. Chu pinched her daughter’s little face.
“You really are a little glutton.”
After serving Aluo more sweet soup, Su Yunjin sat down to eat with everyone else. The table had meat and vegetables, and the meal was very lavish. The men drank and chatted while the women also talked amongst themselves. The meal ended with both the guests and hosts thoroughly enjoying themselves. Lord Gu Chengxiang could not come because of trouble with his legs.
Su Yunjin had set aside food for Lord Gu Chengxiang in advance. After the meal was over, she quickly went to the kitchen to take out the food she had prepared for him.
“Mom, this is the food I’ve prepared for Dad, please take it back to him!” Su Yunjin handed the food to Mrs. An, while Mrs. Chu stepped forward, “Mom, let me help you.”
“Yunjin, your mother and your younger sister and brother’s wife will go back first. You and Third Brother must be tired from moving today; you should rest early tonight.”
Mrs. An instructed Su Yunjin.
Mrs. Chu also bid farewell to Su Yunjin.
After sending off Mrs. An and Mrs. Chu and their family, inside the house, Gu Ya was still accompanying Uncle Yu in drinking. Auntie Song and Uncle Yu’s family lived just next door to Su Yunjin’s house, which was close, so they were not in a hurry to leave.
Uncle Yu was drinking, and Auntie Song did not go back either, sitting on the side to accompany them. When Su Yunjin returned after sending off Mrs. An and her group, the jar of wine was empty.
Gu Ya asked Su Yunjin to fetch another jar, “Yunjin, we’ve run out of wine, go get another jar.”
“Third Brother, Third Brother’s wife, there’s no need for you two to busy yourselves anymore.” Auntie Song intervened, also preventing her own husband from drinking more, “You’ve already had so much, and tomorrow morning you have to get up early to butcher pigs and do business! Don’t drink anymore.”
Seeing his wife stopping him, Butcher Yu did not insist and stood up to take his leave, “Third Brother, Third Brother’s wife, we’ve disturbed you long enough, I should go back with your Auntie now.”
Gu Ya stood up to see them off, with Su Yunjin following behind, pulling Auntie Song aside to have a word, “Auntie, I’ll tell you a prescription, remember it, and when you go back, boil it for your daughter-in-law to eat, it might work.”
“Yunjin, does that method really work?” Auntie Song was delighted.
Su Yunjin did not give a definite promise, in case it didn’t work and she would be hitting her own face, “Auntie, you can try it first and see.”
Auntie Song happily agreed.
Su Yunjin told her the method, and Auntie Song firmly committed it to memory,
intending to go back and prepare it for her daughter-in-law.
After saying goodbye to Auntie Song and Butcher Yu, Su Yunjin and Gu Ya, the married couple, returned to their house. Gu Ya closed the courtyard gate, and turning around, he looked at Su Yunjin with a half-smile,
“Yunjin, what is that prescription? Why don’t you tell me, and I’ll cook it for you tomorrow.”
