Chapter 444 - 444: Am I Influential?

"Well? Spit it out! Are you going to make us wait all day? Certainly feels like it with you staring at her like that." Jinx said, wanting to know what got Onyx all riled up. Onyx turned her gaze away from Lele and looked at the blue haired cultist.

"I have never seen this child before in my visions. With her having precognition, she can become invisible to my sight like all others with foresight." Onyx then turned back to Lele. " I wonder what you have in store for us all..."

Onyx's words caused confusion in Kathrine, causing her to ask. "So, Onyx, when I was um... Messing with you last night? That was Apollo's precognition correct? So how come you can see his future, but not others?"

Onyx then looked at Kathrine like she had said the most illiterate, imbecilic sentence ever to have been uttered. "Because Apollo is my universe, I mean that literally, there is no future without him. No future I wish to be part of anyway, I can see his future because his future is my future. There cannot be one without the other."

Onyx let that sink in for a moment as the room went silent with the intensity of her words, before adding on. "Oh, and his power isn't technically precognition so I can counteract the effects.

Onyx then turned back to the child in front of her and patted the creature on the head. "You go sit down, It is still to be determined how much I need to interact with you." She then addressed Kathrine once more, with a bit of steel in her voice.

"So, did you enjoy tormenting my mind with your usurped power? I certainly did not." Kathrine immediately gulped, nervous. "Oh, um, I-" She was fortunate that a distraction appeared that lit up the entire room.

"Good morning everyone." I said cheerfully as I descended down the stairs. As I listened to all of the greetings back, I noticed a small figure sitting down next to Sophia and said excitedly. "Oh Lele! You made it to my secret lair. Did you sleep well?"

Lele kept my gaze for a moment, she seemed surprised by something before she nodded her head by the time I was standing next to her. Getting down onto my knees, so she didn't break her neck looking up at me, I said.

"Oh that's good. Hey, do you remember yesterday when we talked about keeping our secret identities a secret?" I paused for a moment, Lele looked at me and nodded her head curiously. "Well, I have this friend, her superpower makes her look different to everyone here and well, it would be good if it was kept a secret? Can you do that for me?"

Lele smiled, her facial features becoming animated as her nervousness washed away. "Heroes help one another." She said confidently, causing me to grab her chin and give it a little wiggle. "Ah, I knew I liked you, Leilani." I then sat up against the couch and pointed towards the end of the couches, in between us and the tv.

In a billow of flame, Sol materialised herself, hovering slightly off the ground. "This is Sol, she is joining us for breakfast this morning." Lele's eyes went wide with shock. The thing in front of her looked so different to anything she could have imagined from a superhero that she attempted to hide behind Apollo, however.

"AAah! Apollo what is that thing!" Protect me!" Jinx dived behind my back on the couch, using me as a human shield. Her fighting instincts were telling her to just lie down and wait for death. She never felt that way before and well, she did not like it."

Sophia looked over towards Kathrine, Orchid and Onyx who did not seem surprised in the slightest by the flaming woman. In fact, just thinking the words flaming woman jump started her brain to something Kathrine said a while ago.

"Ah, Sol, finally, a pleasure to put a face to your form. Kathrine had told me about you before, but I must say, you are truly a unique entity aren't you? Welcome to my home." Sol leisurely pulled her gaze from Apollo towards Sophia.

"Ah, the mother. Yes, 'tis true I am unequivocally unique , formerly Ubiquitous. Inexplicable, Ineffable. All-" "-Sol, you have already shown me you can talk normally, stop trying to show off, no one likes big words, you ostentatious flame."

Sol looked at me, I assumed she would be blushing if her face was made out of skin, she then made the sound of an awkward cough before starting again. As she introduced herself to everyone, I heard a childish voice behind me go "Woah, that was a lot of big words."

Turning to the voice I smiled and said. "Yeah, Sol is pretty old, I think she thinks the big words make her seem wise, you don't need to know them all to be smart." Jinx smiled hearing this, glad her boyfriend knew she was smart and kissed him on the cheek as she continued listening to Sol.

"I know I exist inside of your partners Mindspace and Origin, our souls tied together, but that does not mean I am here to usurp- Take away- any love Apollo wishes to give out. He has abundance and I feel lucky to be accepted by you all."

After Sol finished introducing herself, there was a silence before Lele raised her hand. As Sol turned her attention to the child, Lele took Jinx' tactic and hid slightly behind the sitting down Apollo.

"Um... What's a Mindspace? And are all of you Apollo's girlfriends?" In an instant, everyone snapped their heads in my direction, validation always felt good to them after all. "Well, in simple terms, A Mindspace is where our superpowers come from. Inside each Mindspace, a person has an Origin, that Origin determines your power and future powers you could acquire. As for your other question... Labels are a bit tricky for our relationships, but simply put, yes everyone you see here is my girlfriend."

Lele seemed to mull that piece of information over for a second. She knew White Death had multiple girlfriends as well. "Are you important Apollo?" She asked, causing me to turn to her confused. That was quite a broad spectrum question.

"In what way, Leilani?" She seemed to furrow her brows at this, a little confused before asking me. "Are you powerful? Are you in-in-in?" I butted in, thinking I knew which word she was trying to say. "Influential?"

After Lele nodded her head I took a second before replying. "Well, yes and no. I don't have a job, I don't attempt to influence anybody, but at the same time, I am strong and I am a king, technically, but on the grand scale of things, especially in this empire, no I'm not important at all. I'm not on the radar of anyone important and no one is taking notice of me, I am just a regular dude that is king of a very far away planet, here now with my girlfriends, whom I all love very much. Did that cover everything you wanted to know about Leilani?"

I ignored the over the top swooning from the women present, all I did was speak, they didn't have to treat it like a grand gesture, and kept looking at Lele.

It made sense to her now. Apollo was a king. Kings can have as many wives and children as they want. At least, in her mind they did. Something that she could make sense of. She thought about what Apollo just said and wondered if she had any more questions.

She felt a little nervous now she knew Apollo was a king, but he had been very nice to her so far, something that had left a deep impression after the last months in the south as she asked quietly. "Um, when is breakfast?"

"Ha!" I bellowed loudly. "Now that is the best question you have asked so far. "Sophia, is Elias in?" Sophia nodded her head to me and replied. "He is, I have asked him to cook a lot of food given yours and present companies appetites, It should be another ten to twenty minutes."

'Good' I thought before getting up. "Alright, I'm going to go invite the two Sepiida's up, Kat, will mother dearest be ok with Sol or should I?" Kathrine held up her hand and shook her head. "Don't even talk about her right now. She is locked in on that scroll, she is going to be like that for a couple of days, best to just ignore her before she starts forcing you to start training as well..."

Kathrine wasn't speaking to me at that point, her eyes went a thousand miles away, like she had seen something horrific and was traumatised. I laughed at Kathrine's playfulness.

"Alright, I'll leave her to it, but she isn't that bad darlin' I'll be back in ten, if food is already served by then, just dig in. Oh, and I know most of you lack basic understanding of children so don't bully the Lele."

And with that, I left for the elevator.
