Chapter 180: The King’s Decision

The palace hall fell into silence after hearing Eve’s revelation.

’What? The queen killed someone. Is this true?’

’Is she really capable of doing that?’

The royal court officials darted their gaze back and forth between Queen Amara and Princess Eve.

Meanwhile, Queen Amara wasn’t affected by Eve’s accusation. She believed that Esmeralda deserved to die because she stole King Solomon from her.

"Do you have proof? You are making up some lies. No one will believe you here!" Queen Amara responded confidently.

"King Solomon is the witness. He knew what you did. But he covered up for your crime!" Eve spat back at her, glancing at her father.

King Solomon was taken aback for a moment. He couldn’t look at Eve because he was guilty. What she said was true. But he couldn’t admit that in front of everyone.

"You have to tell the truth, Father! This is the least you can do for my mother. I won’t forgive you if you stay silent." Eve warned him.

Captain Alucard and General Artemis couldn’t help but clench their fists. They could imagine the trauma of witnessing your loved one’s death. It might have been hard for Eve after seeing that gruesome scene.

"Mother, is this true? You murdered her mother?" Crown Prince Stefan confronted his mother. He didn’t know how long he could stand this. His family did something wrong to Eve. They deserved Eve’s hatred and punishment.

"Stefan, don’t question me. Don’t you hate her and her mother? They tried to steal your father from us! She bewitched your father! She seduced him!" Queen Amara insisted.

Crown Prince Stefan lowered his gaze, unable to control the overwhelming guilt in his heart.

"Mother! You were wrong! Eve’s mother didn’t do anything wrong! It was my father’s fault!" Crown Prince Stefan declared in front of everyone. With a raging fury, he turned to King Solomon.

"Father! Stop being a coward! Tell them the truth! You have to acknowledge your crime. Your mistake! You are the root of this family problem!" Prince Stefan exclaimed, blaming his father.

Slap!

Princess Alessandra slapped her brother. "How dare you talk back to our mother and father?! Have you gone mad? Why are you siding with this bitch? Did she seduce you as well?" she reprimanded Prince Stefan, questioning his actions. It was so unlikely of him to defend and support Princess Eve. Why was he doing this right now?

"Are you scared of her power?" Princess Aliyah butted in.

King Solomon didn’t know what to say. He felt like he was put in a hot seat, being interrogated and confronted by his son and daughter.

How could he save his own face? Of course, he couldn’t admit to everyone that he was the one who pursued Esmeralda despite her status. He had fallen in love with her. He forced her to sleep with him, impregnating her.

"I’m just stating the fact. I’ve always been on your side. I even bullied her for no valid reason. I think she has more reason to hate us. So I understand why she is doing this to us. We’ve never treated her well. This is our karma." Prince Stefan replied to his sisters.

On the other hand, Princess Eve was surprised to see her half-brother speaking up for her and her mother. She felt touched after sensing his sincerity. He was not just faking it. He was angry for her sake.

"Master, I can make them see what we’ve witnessed before. I can use my magical power. Through this, Queen Amara could no longer deny her crime." Aerin, the mystical fox, spoke to her through their mind link.

"Okay, Aerin. I will allow you to use your magical power. Let them witness Queen Amara’s crime!" Princess Eve gave her permission to show their memories of the past events.

Without a warning, Aerin suddenly howled, compelling everyone inside the palace hall. With her power, she managed to enter their consciousness. It did not take long before everyone started to see a vision– the things that happened in the forest... the night Eve’s mother was murdered by Queen Amara.

This was also the first time King Solomon had finally seen the whole incident. He and his guards came too late. The incident played in their minds like a flashback. Everyone saw what really happened that night.

The other court officials couldn’t believe what they were seeing. They watched in horror as Queen Amara brutally stabbed Esmeralda multiple times. King Solomon and Prince Stefan could hardly stomach the scene, finally witnessing Queen Amara’s true, evil nature.

Even Princess Alessandra vomited after seeing it. Only Princess Aliyah enjoyed the incident because she could relate to her mother. She really followed in her footsteps. She was similar to her mother— she was also a murderer!

As the memory of the horrifying moment echoed in their minds, the palace hall fell into a tense silence. Rage simmered beneath the surface as Captain Alucard, General Artemis, and Commander Kevin fought to keep their emotions in check.

Princess Esmeralda was killed mercilessly in front of her daughter Eve. King Solomon knew what Queen Amara’s crime was, but he never punished her.

King Solomon dropped to his knees, covering his face as tears streamed down his face. He had never imagined that Esmeralda and Eve suffered too much that night. No wonder the young Eve lost her memories.

Gideon clenched his fists as he watched the members of the royal family. He wanted them to suffer—to feel the same pain they had inflicted on Eve.

"I’m sorry, Eve... I’m really sorry... As your father... I failed to protect you and your mother." King Solomon began to apologize to Eve, realizing the gravity of his crime. "I loved her for real. I didn’t want her to die. Until now, I couldn’t forget her. Yes. It was all my fault. I was the one to blame. She wanted to stay away from me. But I was the one who couldn’t let her go."

"It was I who caused her demise. My love for her was so deep. I couldn’t let her go. I refused to let her go." King Solomon began to break down. The guilt consumed him.

"Please tell me... What should I do to receive your forgiveness?" King Solomon asked her desperately.

Queen Amara screamed to release her frustration. "STOP IT! How dare you do this to me, Solomon! I am your legal wife. We have three children. How could you betray me like this?!!"

"The bitch is dead! Why are you apologizing to her daughter now?! Is it just because you finally discovered her true identity? Now that she’s not a slave, you suddenly have the courage to admit you loved her. But when she was seen as nothing more than a mere servant, you couldn’t even defend her! How dare you!" Queen Amara had become completely hysterical, shouting uncontrollably in front of everyone.

Eve had no time to waste with her. She had to make them choose.

"Forgiving you is not that easy, Father. Your apology will never bring back my mother. I’m here to collect your debts. All you have to do is abdicate the throne and pass it to me. I will rule this kingdom myself. And I will punish Queen Amara for the crime she committed. Or perhaps, do you want me to hand her over to the Zephyra Kingdom? I can let King Zaraki punish her for my mother’s sake."

"No, Father! Don’t listen to her!" Princess Alessandra ran in his direction, pulling him up. "Stand up, father. Don’t kneel. She is no longer part of this kingdom. She is our enemy!"

"What will happen if we refuse to fulfill your demand?" Crown Prince Stefan asked her.

"As I’ve said, brother, I will use force. I can easily conquer this kingdom using my power. The dragon can petrify the whole army. General Ravenmoor has witnessed how my dragon can turn an entire army into stone using just one breath!"

Everyone turned to General Ravenmoor, giving him a questioning look.

"The Princess is telling the truth. The dragon possesses terrifying power. The mighty dragon petrified the entire army of Kingdom Zephyra. She has proven that she is not a puppet of King Zaraki. She is doing this for her revenge."

General Ravenmoor vouched for her. He started trusting Princess Eve’s words. If the Queen could easily murder someone, he wondered if Princess Aliyah also did the same thing to his nephew, Gavin.

The royal court officials were scared of Eve’s power. She could control the mystical creatures that possessed magical powers.

"We can become the strongest kingdom if Princess Eve becomes our ruler and new Queen. We should agree to her demands. Her power can protect this kingdom from invaders—she could even expand our territory using her strength!" The Chancellor had finally seen her in a different light. He now supported the idea of making Princess Eve their new ruler. King Solomon and Queen Amara had already tarnished their reputation.

"You traitor!!!" Queen Amara shouted once more.

"General Ravenmoor, capture Queen Amara and send her to prison. She is just disrupting my father from making a decision." Princess Eve ordered him.

Without further ado, General Ravenmoor obeyed Eve’s command. He subdued Queen Amara, who was going wild right now.

"Now, father. Give me your answer. Will you abdicate the throne for me?" Princess Eve asked King Solomon. "The royal court officials will be our witnesses here, along with my royal siblings."

"Father! No! Don’t do this!" Princess Aliyah held his hand, convincing him.

"Don’t accept it!" Princess Alessandra did the same.

But King Solomon pushed them away as he faced Princess Eve. "Alright. I’ve made up my mind. I am stepping down from the throne. I am passing the crown to my daughter, Princess Eve. Ladies and gentleman, this is my last royal decree..."
