Chapter 139: Her Mother’s Death

With the intervention of Aerin, the mystical white fox, Princess Eve regained her memory. On the same night, she suffered from a fever. She was burning up.

Alaric took care of her, watching her over until dawn. He never left her side, just hugging her in his arms.

Gideon was left alone to be on a guarding duty. He also didn’t want to disturb the married couple inside the carriage.

However, Princess Eve had a nightmare. She vividly recalled what happened in the Moonshade Grove Forest.

Young Eve stood frozen in her spot. Alaric handed her over to Queen Amara. She wanted to tell Alaric but she didn’t find the courage to speak up.

As Alaric turned around, Eve extended her right hand as though she wanted to grab him, stopping him from leaving her alone.

’No! Please don’t go. Don’t leave me here. She is not my mother. You’ve made a mistake!’

Eve watched Alaric’s retreating figure in horror. He was gone. He won’t save her. She was feeling helpless. She wanted to run but she couldn’t.

When Alaric completely disappeared from her sight, Queen Amara grabbed her shoulders tightly.

"It’s time to find your mother, Eve. I will hunt her down. She won’t be able to leave this forest," Queen Amara whispered, grinning sardonically.

Eve’s body stiffened from too much fear. She was worried about her mother’s safety.

Queen Amara turned to the warriors standing behind her.

"Search for that witch! Let her know that Eve is with me. If she doesn’t surrender, I will kill her daughter!" Queen Amara gave her command.

She used Eve to lure out Esmeralda. Queen Amara was aware that she wouldn’t abandon Eve, her beloved daughter.

As the warriors dispersed to follow her command, Queen Amara also entered the forest with Eve. The young Eve was being restrained by the queen’s servant. Several guards were also guarding the queen. Eve couldn’t escape.

Eve stood silently, wishing for her mother’s safety. Alaric promised her that he would also find her mother once she was secured.

However, Alaric returned to his patrolling duty. He was clueless that Eve was referring to another woman as her mother, not Queen Amara.

Since Queen Amara and Eve were reunited, Alaric thought he had already fulfilled his promise to Eve. He also found her mother– Queen Amara. She was surrounded by guards so he didn’t have to rescue her.

After an hour, Esmeralda showed up in front of Queen Amara.

"Please release my daughter! Don’t hurt her!" Esmeralda begged the queen to release Eve.

"Mother! Don’t come. Just run away without me!" Eve screamed in desperation. "They will kill you. Mother! Please go!"

Slap!

Queen Amara slapped Eve. "Shut up!"

Eve struggled so hard to free herself but the servant and the guards held her in place. She was just a weak child. She was powerless against them.

Eve began to cry, shaking her head as she gazed at her mother.

Several guards were now approaching Esmeralda to capture her.

Esmeralda just stood in her spot, looking at her daughter. She knew she failed.

"Forgive me, Eve. I brought this upon us. I failed to protect you."

Esmeralda apologized to her daughter, regretting her actions. She thought she could succeed and escape tonight with Eve. But Queen Amara still managed to capture them.

"Mother! No! No! You should run!" Eve screamed desperately.

But it was too late. Queen Amara’s guards already captured Esmeralda.

"Since you are dying to leave the palace, I will grant your wish. But for now, I want to watch you suffer."

Queen Amara signaled the guards. In a brief moment, five prisoners were released by the guards.

"Go and play with this woman all you want. She is all yours! Ruin her in front of me!" Queen Amara ordered those men while laughing maniacally.

Those five prisoners were also the ones who tried to kill Eve before.

"Your wish is our command, your Majesty."

"No! No! Don’t touch my mother. Don’t hurt her!" Eve begged them but no one listened.

The guards released Esmeralda as the five men began to approach her. Their eyes darkened with lust as they looked at her.

They couldn’t wait to taste this beautiful woman. Just the thought of kissing her and touching her was enough to make them hard and throbbing.

They licked their lips, imagining how they would defile her body in front of the queen. They wanted to give her a good show. They moved simultaneously, wanting to have her first.

Esmeralda remained calm, trying to figure out how she would help Eve escape. She was staring in the direction of the palace.

’Please come! Save Eve. I have to buy more time.’ Esmeralda thought to herself.

She wouldn’t allow those men to touch her. She would fight back until someone rescued them.

"Come here! Woman! We will pleasure you!"

"Catch her and pin her down on the ground. We can take turns in fucking her!"

The five men charged forward to attack her. Then suddenly, the white fox jumped from behind, slashing the man’s face. The white fox, Aerin, was the one who gave the man the scar on his face.

Esmeralda fought alongside Aerin! Then the other wolves also arrived in the area attacking the guards.

Queen Amara and the servant couldn’t understand why the foxes and wolves were attacking the guards and the prisoners only. They were ignoring Esmeralda’s presence.

Afraid that the knights were going to lose, Queen Amara picked up a dagger and yanked Eve to her side.

"Esmeralda!" She yelled, catching her attention. "Stop fighting back or else, I will kill your daughter!" she threatened her, pointing the dagger at Eve’s neck.

Esmeralda shook her head, fear could be seen in her eyes. ’No! Not my daughter!’

Without hesitation, Esmeralda ran in Eve’s direction, wanting to save her. Queen Amara smiled triumphantly when Esmeralda began running toward them.

She raised her hand and was going to stab Eve. But Esmeralda came on time, holding the dagger’s blade.

"Mother!" Eve uttered as her mother was now standing in front of them, protecting her from getting stabbed by Queen Amara.

As Esmeralda blocked Queen Amara’s dagger with her bare hand, the queen servant grabbed the chance to stab Esmeralda from the back.

Slash!

Stab!

"MOTHER!!! No!!!" Eve screamed in horror as the tip of the sword pierced through her mother’s body. Her blood spattered across Eve’s face.

"Eve..." Esmeralda uttered her daughter’s name one last time and reached out to caress her face before she collapsed in front of her.

"Hahahahaha! You deserve this. Die Esme! Die!" Queen Amara’s laughter echoed in the forest.

Queen Amara snatched the sword from her servant and stabbed Esmeralda’s body continuously. She stabbed her over and over again in front of Eve.

The brutal scene of her mother’s death was too much for her to handle.

Esmeralda was already dead but Queen Amara continued stabbing her mercilessly.

"Eve! Watch this. This is how you will end as well. Don’t be sad. You are next! Hahaha."

Queen Amara was determined to kill Esmeralda and Eve that night. However, a group of men suddenly arrived, escorting King Solomon.

"AMARA! What have you done?!" King Solomon’s voice was heard from behind.

Eve didn’t know what happened next. She passed out from too much shock. The moment she woke up, she had lost her memory that night.
