Chapter 108: Rejected

Eve clenched her fists tightly, staring at Thalia with conflicting thoughts. Thalia was the reason why Annie died. She couldn’t forgive her easily.

"Someone died because of you. Do you think kneeling is enough to pay for your crime, Princess Thalia?" Eve said coldly.

Thalia gazed up, trying her best to suppress her anger. She already humbled herself. She was humiliated in front of high-ranking officials. The person who died was just a servant!

’What does she want from me? I shouldn’t have done this, if not for my brother’s threat.’ Thalia regretted begging Eve for forgiveness. It seemed that she wouldn’t let it slide so easily.

"It was an accident! I told them to scare you, not to kill anyone!" Princess Thalia denied it.

This time King Solomon approached Eve. "Eve, don’t make things complicated now. She is the princess of Eldara. She apologized for what happened. Don’t pursue this matter further. If you want, just give her punishment."

Eve understood why King Solomon wanted to resolve this issue as soon as possible. They were going to war with another kingdom. They couldn’t afford to lose the alliance with Kingdom Eldara.

"Fine. I’ll forget about it but she needs to be punished. When I was framed, the queen subjected me to fifty floggings. Now, I want Princess Thalia to have the same punishment. Fifty floggings! I will no longer pursue this matter," Eve declared to them.

Thalia’s eyes widened in disbelief upon hearing that. She was about to complain when Crown Prince Cassian spoke up.

"We will accept your punishment, Princess."

"I have another condition," Eve added. "Princess Thalia will be banned from setting foot in this kingdom for ten years."

"I will make sure to fulfill that condition. I will never let her visit this kingdom in the next ten years." Crown Prince Cassian reassured her.

Eve just nodded.

King Solomon and the other generals could no longer argue with the punishment bestowed by Eve. Crown Prince Cassian had already agreed with her.

King Solomon dismissed the other high-ranking officials. Meanwhile, Thalia was sent to the flogging platform to receive her punishment privately. Unlike Eve’s punishment, Thalia’s flogging punishment won’t be a public humiliation.

Crown Prince Cassian, General Alaric, and Princess Eve accompanied Princess Thalia to the flogging platform. They watched Thalia as she received her punishment.

Pak! Pak!

The smacking sound along with Thalia’s whimper and cry echoed in the flogging platform. She was getting hit one after another. The striking pain could be felt at her bottoms.

’I’ll get my revenge from this humiliation and pain... I will make you suffer tenfold. Just you wait, Eve.’ Thalia swore to herself before she lost consciousness.

Princess Thalia passed out from too much pain. Half an hour later, she was brought back to her quarters. King Solomon sent the royal physician to tend to Thalia’s wound.

"Crown Prince Cassian, Can I talk to you for a moment?" Eve approached him.

Both Alaric and Prince Cassian were surprised when Eve initiated this conversation.

"Of course," Prince Cassian responded with a smile.

"I’ll wait for you outside," Alaric said, leaving the flogging platform.

Though he didn’t know the reason why Eve wanted to talk to Prince Cassian, Alaric just put his trust in her.

When they were left alone, Eve started the conversation without beating around the bush.

"Crown Prince Cassian, regarding your offer last time... I made up my mind. I can’t accept it. I chose to stay with Alaric. He is my husband. I hope you can find the right woman for you." Eve meant her every word.

Crown Prince Cassian frowned for a moment, trying to compose himself. He wasn’t used to being outrightly rejected by anyone. Was his offer not enough to sway her?

"I don’t think I can find another woman like you, Princess. You are very special... different from all the women I have met so far." Prince Cassian couldn’t hide the disappointment in his tone.

"Prince Cassian, we can be friends. But we can’t be more than that. I know you will meet the right woman for you."

Prince Cassian clenched his fists. "Is this because of Thalia? Do you hate me and my sister?"

Eve shook her head. "I can’t blame you for her crime. I don’t hate you."

"Prince Cassian, I hope you understand and respect my decision. I will not change my mind." Eve didn’t want to give him false hope. She needed to make things clear between them.

Prince Cassian fell silent. After careful consideration, he finally nodded.

"I understand." He put on a smile, concealing his real emotions. "But I hope you can be my friend. I still want to get to know you more."

"Yes, of course."

"Princess, I’ve heard that you were going to visit the slums. Can I join you?" Crown Prince Cassian asked her expectantly. Though Eve rejected his offer, he wouldn’t give up on her.

Before returning to Kingdom Eldara, he would try his best to find a way to keep Eve by his side.

Eve didn’t say yes right away. She was contemplating whether to consult Alaric first.

When Crown Prince Cassian saw the hesitation in her eyes, he spoke again to convince her.

"I want to help the poor families living in the slum areas. Please allow me to extend my help to them."

Since Prince Cassian mentioned the poor families in the slums, she couldn’t stop him from providing support to those families in need.

"Okay. You can come with us to visit the slum. I’ll inform my husband about this. Our visit to the slum has nothing to do with the kingdom’s affairs so I hope the palace won’t send the entire army just to secure your safety."

Eve was worried that the people of the slums would feel uneasy once a group of royal guards would go there with them. She and Alaric wanted to visit the place like ordinary citizens, not as the royalty of Kingdom Averion.

"Don’t worry, Princess. I will not hassle you during the visit. I will disguise myself and I won’t bring guards, except for the manpower that we need in the distribution of the relief," Crown Prince Cassian said.

"Alright. I understand. We will send the carriage on the day of our visit. Let’s go together." After saying those words, Eve bade goodbye to Crown Prince Cassian.

When Eve left, Prince Cassian headed to the Crystal Pavilion to release his frustrations. He was unhappy and upset because of Eve’s rejection.

He summoned several royal knights of Eldara, making them his human targets. He had a bad day. He lost to Alaric twice– in the Royal Hunt Competition and Eve’s choice.

Crown Prince Cassian was taking his shots one after another when Sylvana approached him.

"Your Highness, Chancellor Igrin has been complaining about what you did to your sister. They sent a message to the King and Queen, informing them of what happened to Princess Thalia. How will you deal with this matter? King Constantine will be furious once he hears the news. He dotes on his daughter a lot."

Prince Cassian’s expression darkened upon hearing that. He put down his bow and arrow as he faced Sylvana.

"Come with me," he ordered her sternly.

The royal knights heaved a sigh of relief when Crown Prince Cassian finally left. They would no longer suffer from getting hit by an arrow.

Prince Cassian and Sylvana entered his chamber. The moment he closed the door, he shoved her against the wall, his hand gripping her neck. His eyes were blazing red in anger.

"I’m not in the mood to be lectured by you, Sylvana!" He said through his gritted teeth.

Without letting her speak, Prince Cassian roughly tore off her dress, making Sylvana gasp as his grip tightened on her neck.

In one swift move, he unbuckled his belt, pulling out his member. His other hand grabbed it, stroking his shaft to make it hard.

He used his knee to part her legs apart as he pressed his body against her, his fingers still choking Sylvana.

Sylvana was still gasping for air when she felt Prince Cassian’s hard member enter her core, thrusting deep inside her without mercy.

Sylvana let out a choked moan as he pounded on her, sliding his member further in. He took her hard, thrusting in and out of her while gripping her neck.

Sylvana’s eyes rolled back from intense pleasure. She needed some air but her mind was distracted by his hard member coming in and out of her core. She was losing oxygen but her body was still on fire, yearning for more and not wanting Prince Cassian to stop.

"Princess Evelina rejected me... yet I want her more," Prince Cassian uttered in her ear as he continued pounding on her.

This time, Crown Prince Cassian finally released her neck as his hands cupped her full breasts, palming and kneading them while he continued banging her against the wall, releasing his sexual frustrations. Sylvana just slammed her eyes shut at the mention of Eve’s name.
