Chapter 347: Chapter 347- Waited In Vain
The girl was selling simple sweets along with Rice balls and dumplings at her small stall.
"Can you give me your entire stock?"
Sol said leaning over the balcony railing.
The girl was at first stunned, but her face quickly gained a delighted expression as she vigorously nodded her head.
After buying the girl’s entire stock, Sol started floating back to his position with a few riceballs and dumplings in his arms, while the rest remained in his storage ring.
The disciples in the surroundings had already gone back to focusing on the battles down below, cheering in excitement one moment and booing the next. Some only took a glance at Sol as he went by with his food.
One of them was a young boy who looked to have just entered the Academy. He was moving towards the girl’s stall but looked dejected when he saw that Sol had bought everything out.
He had been here for the whole day and hadn’t eaten anything. Now he had wasted time and allowed the entire food to be bought.
After sighing dejectedly, he chose to just give up his spot and leave to get some food in the Culinary Pavilion venue.
However, before he could turn to leave, two dumplings around the size of an adult’s fist were sent flying his way.
The boy quickly caught them by surprise.
"Ah, thank you, Senior Brother!"
Sol turned back and saw the youth leaning over the railing waving at him with one of the dumplings in his hands.
Sol smiled and waved back.
Taking a steamy bite of his fifth dumpling, the meat inside the dumpling melted in Sol’s mouth as its rich flavor covered his tongue.
’So good.’
Sol complimented as he continued devouring his food.
After returning, Mar-Dule looked at him and said.
"You were getting food? The battle is about to start."
Sol sat down between Yoon-Jae and Mar-Dule. After he handed them some riceballs and dumplings, he snacked on his own as he turned to the stage.
Just then the match between the two hot-blooded youths started.
With swords in hand, they dashed towards each other.
Sol’s eyes involuntarily narrowed as he focused on the battle.
The youth from the Weapon Innate Dharma Pavilion was from the Huashan Sect.
As he dashed forward his sword swung out, and he used a familiar sword movement.
Sol recognized it to be one of the sword forms from the Huashan Sect’s 24 Plum Blossom Sword Art. He had already memorized the twenty four sword forms from seeing Byeong-Ho use it.
Even though it was only a Martial Art that only had sword movements and not an Aether Energy circulation method, it was still considered a Heaven Grade Martial Art.
One should know that Martial Arts like these were merely basic movements, so they would normally be categorized as Mortal Grade Techniques.
But the 24 Plum Blossom Sword Art was known as a Heaven Grade Technique, why?
That was because of the profundities in each sword form. They were on another level compared to regular Martial Arts.
Despite being basic movements, if a disciple from the Huashan Sect diligently practices these twenty sword movements, they’ll come to realize that their overall sword skills will slowly improve.
Not only that, but these twenty four sword movements were the basis of all the Huashan Sect’s Techniques. Every Martial Art, Sword Art, and even Martial Skills that deals with fists and kicks was created using these twenty-four movements as a basis.
Because of this, if one improved in the 24 Plum Blossom Sword Art, mastering the other Techniques from the Huashan Sect would be a lot easier.
That said, it might be easy to memorize the twenty-four movements and execute them without any problem, but to truly master them to perfection was difficult.
The speed of one’s swing, the angle of one’s swing, and the balance of one’s body during a swing.
These all seemed like simple concepts but mastering these aspects could take many years for swordmasters, especially when it comes to learning the 24 Plum Blossom Sword Art.
However, rumor has it that if one was able to master the essence of this Sword Art, then the 24 Plum Blossom Sword Art would transform into something completely different in that person’s hand.
Just by performing those movements, that person’s Aether Energy would move on its own through a unique circulation pathway in their twelve main meridians.
What that essentially meant was that a Heaven Grade Martial Art with only sword movements could become a complete Heaven Grade Sword Art with an Aether Energy circulation method.
At that point, the person would be able to produce plum blossom petals with each of the twenty-four sword movements.
This had only been a founding legend in the Huashan Sect since no one in the Sect’s history had been able to master this so-called essence. However, shockingly, this rumor was proven true by none other than Byeong-Ho.
This disciple from the Huashan Sect wasn’t at that level of mastery in the 24 Plum Blossom Sword Art. He was using it like any other sword form or Martial Art.
Supplementing the sword movements by covering his sword with his Aether Energy while attacking.
This was the battlestyle of the people of the Jianghu. No, this has become the fighting style of the Eastern Region as a whole.
Sol then glanced over at the youth from the Elemental Innate Dharma Pavilion. He was from the Western Region.
Sol’s eyes flickered when he saw the golden aura around the youth’s sword.
’Holy Energy.’
Sol thought.
However, as Sol looked at the two youths’ clashing swords, he came to realize the disciple from the Western Region’s fighting style was the same.
The light golden-haired youth from the Western Region was using a set of sword forms to fight while coating his sword with Holy Energy.
’But I should have known this was the case. Even though the continent is separated into the Eastern and Western regions by the Ibbian Mountain Range, we are all humans with the same body structure. If it’s like that then is it really surprising that both regions develop similar fighting styles? Holy Energy and Aether Energy might be different, but they’re still sources of power that one can cultivate from heaven and earth.’
As Sol thought this, he recalled his fight with the Paladin Warriors in his village. His level was too low, and he had no knowledge of cultivation to understand these concepts then.
However, there was an area where the two regions might differ.
’I want to see their Martial Skills and Sword Arts, or at least their equivalent to them.’
However, as Sol waited for the youth from the Western Region to use something like Martial Skill, or perhaps since he was using a sword it would likely be a Sword Art, he realized he was waiting in vain as the youth was soon sent flying off the stage by a pink sword arc from the Huashan Sect’s disciple.
It was Mortal Grade Sword Art.
"What happened? Why didn’t he use a Sword Art or something? He just went up there only to fight by reinforcing his sword with his energy and using some set of sword forms. Where’s the flashing attacks?"
Yoon-Jae asked this with a baffled expression, and Sol nodded, equally confused. Afterward, they both turned to look at Mar-Dule for answers.
