Chapter 346: Chapter 346- It Was Strange
"WHOAAA!!!"
"LET’S GOOO!!!"
The disciples in the Martial Hall Pagoda were so loud that their voices could be heard by someone on the other side of the Central Mountain if they listened closely.
On the ground floor where the Mortal Arena was, numerous disciples could be seen cramped together as they either cheered or booed while watching other disciples battle on the hundred or so stages scattered around Martial Hall.
However, these weren’t the only disciples here.
The Martial Hall looked like it had four massive floors from the outside, but inside there were no floors.
If one stood on the ground floor and looked up, they would be able to see stages floating in the air. They were being held up by numerous formations.
Large stairs were at the sides of the building that allowed disciples to climb up and watch the battles on these floating stages.
As for the safety of this kind of construction, there was a powerful formation that acted as a safety net if the stages ever fell or were destroyed and have pieces dropped.
However, one should know that it costs disciples to move from the ground floor or the Mortal Arena, to watch the battles in the Earth Arena, Sky Arena, and Heaven Arena. This formation also acts as a barrier to prevent disciples that didn’t pay to move up.
Despite that, these Arena had no fewer disciples than the Mortal Arena.
However, something else should be mentioned. This formation was radiating a type of pressure. It didn’t affect the disciples physically but there was still a feeling of suppression.
It was as if the Academy wanted to instill a sense of awe and inferiority to those in the Mortal Arena for disciples in the Earth Arena. But for most disciples they not only feel a sense of awe and inferiority, but they also feel eagerness to grow stronger and reach that level.
This was a new feature that was introduced four months ago.
But even after the disciples reached the Earth Arena, they realized that they still felt the pressure from the formation. The feeling was even greater than what they felt in the Mortal Arena.
After passing the Earth Arena and looking up from the Sky Arena, disciples would realize only those in the Heaven Arena didn’t have this uncomfortable feeling of being suppressed.
In the past, the ten stages floating on the Heaven Arena level never had people battling, and neither were there a lot of people up there, but now, it was packed with disciples cheering for two youths fighting in mid-air above a stage.
One wore red robes and wielded a sword coated with crimson flames. His attacks were fierce and overbearing.
The other youth was wearing the Weapon Innate Dharma Pavilion’s black robe, but his dark brown hair was quite eye-catching as it wasn’t common for those in Jianghu to have it.
He also wielded a sword that was bursting with golden light. Though his attacks weren’t as fierce and overbearing as his opponent, they were refined and precise as they aimed for vital points.
When the two youths clash, their attacks send shockwaves sweeping out and cause the stage below them to tremble uncontrollably, like it was about to collapse at any moment.
One could see that their aerial battle was on a completely different level than the ones in the Mortal Arena, Earth Arena and Sky Arena.
Thankfully, the formation encapsulated the stage and protected the cheering disciples.
At the large double-door entrance of the Martial Hall Pagoda, Sol and Yoon-Jae were standing there with their jaws on the floor.
Mar-Dule was standing next to them with an amused expression on his face.
"What did I say? Something has awakened in these garden flowers that only wanted to cultivate in peace in the Academy."
"It’s so packed, a lot more people are in here than there would normally be."
Yoon-Jae nodded at Sol’s words.
"Right, it feels like more than half of the Academy is in here."
"That’s because there are, the academy made some changes and increased the size of the Martial Hall Pagoda."
Mar-Dule explained as they entered the rowdy Martial Hall.
Yoon-Jae looked up and frowned.
"Is this pressure part of the changes the Academy made?"
Mar-Dule nodded.
Still frowning, Yoon-Jae said.
"Why does it feel like the Academy is using those from the Western Region as a grindstone for the disciples?"
"That’s because they are, and I think it’s smart."
Yoon-Jae shook his head at Mar-Dule’s words.
"Whether it’s smart or not isn’t the issue, rather, I’m afraid of what this means in the incoming future."
Sol paused his observation of the Martial Hall and went into thought. Mar-Dule did the same.
Even though it wasn’t said, they were all thinking the same thing. No, everyone in the Academy, in Jianghu, and even in the Eastern Region was thinking the same thing.
Now that the barrier no longer exists, will there be a war in the near future?
To lighten the mood, Mar-Dule pointed at one of the stages and said.
"Look, those two from before are going to battle."
Sol’s eyes brightened up, but instead of trying to squeeze through the crowd, he floated up into the air.
There were balconies that overlooked the stages, but for the stages in the middle of the hall, those were too far away for disciples to truly enjoy the battles there.
But thankfully, the stage with that Weapon Innate Dharma Pavilion and Elemental Innate Dharma Pavilion disciple was close to a balcony.
Most of the disciples below were too engrossed in the battles on the stage to notice Sol and the others flying above their heads. However, this wasn’t out of the ordinary and some figures could even be seen floating above stages in the middle of the Martial Hall.
Normally, Spiritual Realm disciples wouldn’t concern themselves with battles on this level, but there were some occasions of this not being the case. So, these Mortal Realm disciples who had once been surprised by seeing someone flying had gradually gotten used to it over time.
Incidentally, some of the disciples in the Mortal Realm no longer viewed these disciples in the Spiritual Realm as God-like beings to be feared, but rather they started to see them as equals.
It was strange.
However, some disciples did catch sight of the three. When they saw Mar-Dule their eyes widened in surprise. And not long after they recognized Yoon-Jae as well. But when their gazes landed on Sol, they weren’t quite sure who he was, however, from his good looks he must not be ordinary.
After floating over to the balcony, Sol took a seat on the railing.
The people who were already there silently made space for him and the others.
Sol thanked them before shifting his attention to the stage below.
However, his nose suddenly twitched.
He leaned forward a bit and looked further down the balcony to see that a female disciple had set up a simple stall.
Sol was slightly surprised.
It was extremely illegal to be doing this in the Martial Hall Pagoda, but all the disciples kept quiet as they found it too troublesome to leave to get food outside, only to find good spot had been taken when they returned.
Unable to resist his stomach urgings, Sol leaped off the railing and floated towards the female disciple’s stall; sniffing deeply all the way.
