Chapter 295: Chapter 295- I’m An Idiot
Sol gritted his teeth and was just about to pull out his bow, however, Yoon-Jae suddenly formed a hand seal and pointed at him.
The Ice and Fire Phoenix suddenly turned to Sol and attacked. Both sent out a pillar of crimson fire Aether Energy and a pillar of blue frigid Ice Aether Energy toward him.
The void trembled and the phenomenon in the surroundings increased.
With only a single hand seal, Yoon-Jae cast a Spell of this magnitude (1).
This was abnormal as the stronger the attack, the longer the hand seals or incantation would be. But from this display, it could be seen that Yoon-Jae’s talents didn’t lie in Martial Arts but rather in conjuring Spells.
In the blink of an eye, the pillar of flames and ice combined to form a massive ten-meter-wide pillar of destruction.
Sol had no time to take out his bow as the two combined attacks were fast, in just a few seconds they were merely a few meters away from him.
Sol clenched his fist and the space around it warped. Placing all his physical strength into this attack, Sol threw out a punch at the Ice-Flame pillar.
With a loud bang, Sol’s fist collided with the pillar and sent ice and flames scattering in all directions. However, Sol’s attack wasn’t enough to destroy this pillar.
After overwhelming his fist strike, the pillar slammed into Sol sending him crashing onto the ground and shattering it upon impact.
Loud rumbles echoed out as the pillar of ice and flames went on to destroy a part of the mountain.
Dust and fragmented rocks were sent into the air causing a smoke screen to partially cover the area.
It took several breaths worth of time for the chaos to calm down. However, the destruction caused by the pillar of flame and ice Aether Energy became visible and it was horrifying.
Some sections of the mountain looked like they had been melted by molten lava, while some parts were frozen over.
Yoon-Jae recalled his two Innate Dharmas as he headed towards Sol. There was a bit of hurry in his steps.
After he came to the crater, he looked down and saw Sol lying flat on his back inside.
His pants were slightly burnt, and a bit of blood was seeping from the small cuts on his torso. Aside from this, along with a pale complexion, he looked fine on the outside.
Yoon-Jae leaped down into the crater and walked over to Sol. Looking down at him he asked worriedly.
"Are you okay?"
"I’m fine, but did you get everything out? If you didn’t, then I might not be able to take one more of those."
Yoon-Jae looked at Sol and sighed.
"Idiot, I’m not mad at you... anymore."
Sol smiled, but his current appearance made him look a little wretched.
Yoon-Jae sighed once more before saying.
"Come on, get up."
Sol shook his head.
"Almost all of my bones are broken, I really can’t stand up right now Brother Yoon-Jae."
Yoon-Jae’s face changed when he heard that, and he bent down to examine Sol’s wounds.
Sure enough, he looked fine on the outside, but he had serious internal injuries. Well, maybe for someone else they would be serious, but for Sol, they could be considered minor.
"You’ll live."
Yoon-Jae said as he went to get up, but Sol suddenly said.
"Wait, my Innate Dharma won’t be able to fully heal me for a while. Carrying me back to the cave."
Yoon-Jae paused before he decided to reach over and help Sol up onto his back. He then carried Sol on his back past Abdu who had gone back to sleep and into the cave.
After placing Sol on the ground, Yoon-Jae plopped down beside him.
"Why were you mad at me?"
Sol suddenly asked, and Yoon-Jae glanced at him but remained silent. After a moment, Sol got a reply.
"I was mad at myself more so than you. As for why... you don’t need to know."
"Hm, okay."
Seeing that Sol wasn’t even going to ask why he was upset, Yoon-Jae stared at Sol. He couldn’t see his face clearly since his bangs were covering it.
Yoon-Jae went to extend his hand but stopped and clenched his fist. He then loosened it before saying with a sigh.
"You need to cut your hair. It’s unnerving that you’re reading my facial expressions when I can’t see yours."
"Okay."
After Sol said that Yoon-Jae stood up.
"I’m leaving now."
"Are you going back to the Academy?"
Yoon-Jae shook his head and said without turning around.
"I plan on going to the Heat Zone to cultivate. Send me a message after you come out of seclusion."
Yoon-Jae waved his hand as he left the cave.
After Sol watched him leave, he turned his gaze to the ceiling of the cave.
He stayed like that for a few seconds before he suddenly got up.
Sol then glanced at the cave entrance where Yoon-Jae left before he sighed internally and walked to the end of the cave.
There against the wall were eight tubs made from stone that were around three meters wide.
Sol paused next to one of the tubs and looked at the wall of the cave. After a second his hand shot out and his index finger made several holes in the wall.
Sol then hurried to lift one of the heavy tubs and place it down underneath the holes. Just as he placed it down, water started to pour out of the dozen or so finger-sized holes.
After the stone tub was filled, Sol used a few loose rocks as a stopper to fill the holes. He then placed his hand into the filled tub and used his Innate Dharma to gather the Fire Aether Energy in the surroundings to heat it.
Only after steam began to rise did Sol stop before taking off his slightly burnt pants and jumping in.
After scrubbing all the dirt from the battle off his body, Sol stepped out of the tub and shifted it off to the side before turning it over. When all the water was drained, he set it aside before grabbing another tub and filling it with water.
Sol heated the water once again before getting in. This time he slid down in the tub and allowed the warmth of the water to wash over him.
With time to settle down, Sol couldn’t help but have his thoughts drift back to his fight with Yoon-Jae.
Sol lowered himself further into the water, leaving only the upper part of his face above the water, however, his bangs were hiding that portion as well.
"I’m an idiot."
Sol said self deprecatingly, though his words only resulted in muffled sounds and bubbles appearing in the water.
It was obvious Sol knew why Yoon-Jae was upset with him, after all, he picked up on things like this relatively easily.
However, he pretended like he didn’t know... as always.
Sol sighed, resulting in bubbles forming in the water.
After soaking in the bath for some time Sol decided to leave. He dried himself off and wore some pants, still going topless.
He then sat down in the center of the cave and closed his eyes to try and clear his mind. His only focus was on the fight he just had with Yoon-Jae.
Sol opened his eyes and looked at his hand.
"If I want to increase my strength, I not only have to cultivate arduously, I need to learn Martial Arts Techniques that will be able to utilize that strength."
Sol scratched the back of his head.
"I don’t have such Martial Arts Techniques; I could copy some like I did the Eight Trigrams Palms from the disciples of the Holy Sects and Clans, but they’ve probably already warned their disciples to hide their breathing paterns."
Sol sighed.
"If I had awakened an Earth Innate Dharma or a Metal Innate Dharma, I could have learned some of Master’s Techniques."
Sol suddenly felt his Innate Dharma gently sway back and forth. His expression changed and he hurriedly said.
"Ah, I’m sorry, don’t be upset. I would never exchange you for another Innate Dharma even if I could."
After Sol’s reassuring words, his seedling calmed down.
Sol smiled.
"Sure, you aren’t able attack my opponents, and your Wood Element isn’t able to boast my attacks, but without you I would have died already."
Sol brought out his seedling and then started to gently caress it.
Afterward he went back to his current predicament.
"Well, I could learn some Sword or Saber Arts. However..."
Sol glanced down at this seedling.
Not only did his Wood Element prevent him from boosting his attacks, but it isn’t well suited for him if he wanted to use a sword or saber. In fact, with an Innate Dharma like this, one would normally focus on becoming an Alchemist rather than learning Martial Arts Techniques and increasing their cultivation strength.
"Well, if my situation is too unique that there aren’t any viable paths I can tread, then I’ll just create my own. My own Martial Arts Techniques that is. It shouldn’t be that hard."
Sol smiled as he continued to caress his seedling. Meanwhile, Abdu opened his eyes and glanced at him. He rolled his eyes and went back to his nap.
Sol sounded way too arrogant. Abdu didn’t know how difficult those Martial Arts thingies are to create, but from what he saw so far, it didn’t look easy. But the thing was, there wasn’t a hint of arrogance in Sol’s bones.
His arrogant and almost nonchalant claim was said out of pure confidence.
