Chapter 294: Chapter 294- Glaring To The Eyes
Sol pursed his lips as he walked towards Yoon-Jae.
"What happened? Why didn’t you reply to my message?"
"Well, I’m here now, aren’t I?"
Sol stopped in front of Yoon-Jae and looked at him closely through his bangs.
"Why are you avoiding?"
"Huh? How did you come to that conclusion?"
Yoon-Jae looked at Sol confused.
"You are avoiding me. Back at the tent when I called out to you, then when I met you during the Coming-of-Age Ceremony, and at Mar-Yue’s birthday party. You’ve been avoiding me all this while."
Yoon-Jae shook his head.
"You’re overthinking things. Here."
Yoon-Jae flipped over his hand and took out a storage bag. He then tossed it to Sol and said.
"I came here to see you before you entered seclusion, and Mar-Yue said to give you this."
"Thanks."
Sol said catching the storage bag, but Yoon-Jae suddenly said.
"Well, I won’t interrupt you so I’m off."
"Huh? Wait! You’re going to leave already? Don’t you want to see inside the cave I built?"
Sol hurried to catch up to Yoon-Jae who was walking away.
"Are you scared of being alone, is that why you want me to stay?"
Yoon-Jae chuckled in amusement as he said this.
"You’re changing the subject Brother Yoon-Jae."
"Am I?"
"Yes, you are."
Sol paused and then said.
"You’re mad at me, aren’t you?"
Yoon-Jae suddenly stopped, and Sol stopped with him. Yoon-Jae then sighed before turning around and patting Sol on the shoulder.
"I said you’re overthinking things. I’m neither mad at you, nor am I avoiding you."
Yoon-Jae then paused before explaining.
"I was too drunk to notice your message, that’s why I didn’t reply."
Yoon-Jae patted Sol’s shoulder some more before he smiled and turned to leave.
"Enjoy your seclusion."
Sol watched Yoon-Jae leave, but he suddenly said.
"Wait! How about we spar before you go?"
Yoon-Jae paused and after thinking for a moment he turned around a nodded.
"Sure."
The two youths decided to use the clearing Sol created as their sparing ground.
Sol stood stretched in the center of the clearing, while Yoon-Jae changed off to one side.
He took off his upper robes and went topless like Sol before tying his hair into a loose ponytail. Afterward, he walked out and stood opposite Sol, leaving about thirty meters between them.
"Brother Yoon-Jae, I won’t be using my bloodline, but you don’t have to worry, you can go all out."
Yoon-Jae nodded before he flicked his wrist and a long sword appeared in his hand.
Comparing the two youths’ physiques, there wasn’t much difference between them.
Both had leaned figures, which could make one tell from a glance that they had gone through intense physical training.
This wasn’t surprising for Sol, but no one would have thought that Yoon-Jae had such a physique from just looking at him. However, this could be because he always wore loose robes.
Yoon-Jae swung the long sword a bit before he flicked his wrist and sent it into his left hand. He lightly swung the sword once again before he flicked it back into his right hand.
"The Wudang Sects Martial Arts would have suited you Brother Yoon-Jae."
Sol suddenly said.
What Yoon-Jae just did looked simple, but if someone had keen eyes, they would realize there was no difference in Yoon-Jae’s swings whether the sword was in his left or right hand.
Meaning he was ambidextrous.
With the Wudang Sects Martial Arts focusing on balance during movement, it really would be a good fit for Yoon-Jae.
"The Wudang Sect and my Kunlun Sect Martial Arts stem from similar roots, which is the Shaolin Sect. All the Holy Sects’ Martial Arts have been influenced by the Shaolin Sect somewhat as well. However, I don’t use my Sect’s Martial Arts anymore."
Sol nodded; this was something he had read in those old books his Master gave him.
Yoon-Jae had been training in his Kunlun Sect’s Martial Arts since he was young, and even though he stopped using it, the effects still lingered in his movements.
Sol soon cleared his thoughts and slid his foot back to get into a fighting stance.
Yoon-Jae casually held his long sword to the side and silently observed Sol’s movements.
Abdu by the side, opened his eyes and decided to watch this match.
After a few breaths worth of time had passed, Sol and Yoon-Jea’s figures suddenly moved simultaneously.
They appeared in the middle of the clearing and sword met fist.
With a loud bang the two separated from the clash, but their figures blurred as they charged at each other once more.
However, two steps into his charge, Sol’s figure abruptly vanished.
Yoon-Jae’s body tensed, and without hesitation, he tilted his head to the side.
Sol’s fist brushed past his cheek.
Yoon-Jae was caught off guard by Sol’s speed, however, he was calm as he retaliated after dodging Sol’s fist.
With a vertical slash upward, Yoon-Jae aimed to sever Sol in half.
However, as if he had future foresight, Sol had already twisted his body out of the way.
Yoon-Jae’s sword caused a bone-chilling sound to echo in Sol’s ear as it sliced upwards through the air past his face.
Sol made good use of this opportunity to slip past Yoon-Jae’s defenses. However, as he took a step forward to do so, Yoon-Jae’s palm moved. He had been secretly forming seals with his left hand during the time Sol dodged his sword.
It was bait for Sol to approach him.
His palm sent heat waves into the surroundings as it intercepted Sol as he took a step forward.
Sol reacted quickly and sent out his palm to meet Yoon-Jae’s own.
Bang!
Even though Yoon-Jae had used a Martial Skill, while Sol was only using brute strength, their attacks were equal in force. No, Yoon-Jae seemed slightly weaker.
Sol took four steps back from the clash while Yoon-Jae took five steps back.
However, even an unarmed God would suffer gravely if he allowed an opponent to attack from five steps away.
Yoon-Jae sword slashed towards Sol in the blink of an eye.
However, Sol was simply too fast. In fact, his speed seemed to increase at this moment as he twisted his body out of the way.
After twisting his body out of the way of Yoon-Jae’s sword, Sol continued his twisting momentum as he bent down and swept Yoon-Jae’s leg from under him.
Yoon-Jae fell onto his back with a thud, but he had no time to get up as he saw Sol’s foot approaching from above.
He hurriedly rolled out of the way and Sol’s foot slammed onto the ground, sending spiderweb-like cracks snaking out for several meters.
However, Sol gave Yoon-Jae no time to catch his breath as his other foot came crashing down, aiming for his head.
Yoon-Jae had to roll out of the way once more, but instead of persisting when he had the advantage, Sol instead paused his attacks.
Yoon-Jae got up and Sol said.
"Brother Yoon-Jae, you should really go all out. I’m giving you this opportunity to vent your anger."
Yoon-Jae looked at Sol who was smiling but he said nothing. He shook his wrist, and the long sword was placed back into his storage ring.
Yoon-Jae rolled his shoulders, while Sol got into a fighting stance.
This is where the real fight starts.
However, Sol’s body suddenly stiffened when he felt searing heat and frigid coldness bombard his face.
All of a sudden, Yoon-Jae’s entire body burst into crimson fire and deep blue ice Aether Energy.
The cry of two beasts then rang out and Yoon-Jae’s two Pheonix Innate Dharma appeared.
Their appearance came with strange phenomena in the surroundings.
Snow suddenly began to fall on this side of the mountain while it seemed as if a second sun had appeared in the sky.
The two majestic blue and crimson Phoenixes circled in the air around Yoon-Jae as their size increased from two meters to a staggering twenty meters.
It was as if Yoon-Jae had summoned two legendary Divine Beasts from ancient times.
Sol gulped at the sight, especially upon feeling the power radiating from Yoon-Jae.
"B-Brother Yoon-Jae, you made improvements in controlling your Innate Dharmas? Was it back when we were traveling through the Heat Zones?"
Sol’s words were meant to sound happy for Yoon-Jae, but his stuttering gave away the nervousness he was feeling.
Yoon-Jae was a year older than Sol, so his cultivation had always been higher than his.
While Sol had opened all the acupoints in one limb and around half in the second, Yoon-Jae had already opened all the acupoints in his right and left leg and was starting on his right hand.
Currently, Sol wasn’t using his crescent moon to increase his physical strength leaving him to use his base strength that was near the Quasi-Spiritual Realm. As for the power he could display with his Immortal Cultivation, the only Martial Arts Techniques he learned that’s noteworthy was the Wudang Sect’s Eight Trigrams Fists, which he comprehended up to the Beginner Realm, along with his Heavenly Steps, which had just reached the Greater Mastery Realm not too long ago.
That could allow him to compete against someone in the Quasi-Spiritual Realm but barely so.
Even though this was a shocking feat for him to be able to fight across minor realms like this, it wasn’t all that in this current situation.
It was now that he was facing a genius without using his bloodlines that Sol’s extreme lack of cultivation strength became glaring to the eyes.
