Chapter 290- Entering Seclusion
Chapter 290: Chapter 290- Entering Seclusion
With only two steps Mar-Du carried Sol and the others across the dimension towards the center.
At the center was a luscious mountain that had trees blooming with vibrant leaves.
No longer were the surroundings dominated by Fire Aether Energy, but rather a balance was returned to the six elements.
This place was similar to the Desert Forest, a lost paradise in the middle of an apocalyptic environment.
A few mountains in the surrounding area were the same, but they weren’t able to be seen from this central mountain. This mountain rose above the clouds, the only thing one would see when looking out was a rolling stretch of clouds.
After Mar-Du placed Sol and the others down he constantly looked around with a curious expression on his face.
In front of them was a small stone temple that was mostly intact if one ignored the cracks that snaked across it.
It was also giving off a strong sense of antiquity, but this was no surprise given how long it must have existed.
After Mar-Dule settled his churning stomach somewhat he glanced at his Father who was looking around.
"Dad, have you never been here before?"
Mar-Du shook his head.
"Even when the flames weakened allowing us to enter, I didn’t dare try to cross the second line of flames to reach the center. But to think a temple like this was here."
As the focus was turned to this temple, everyone could recognize that this might be the location of ancestor Mar-Tu’s bloodline.
However, Mar-Dule paused and then asked.
"Is this ancestor Mar-Tu’s Spiritual Palace?"
Mar-Du shook his head, while Mar-Yue turned to give her brother an odd look.
"Ah, I was just asking! But if this isn’t his Spiritual Palace, then is this not the Inheritance site?"
Abdu opened his eyes at this time and said.
"This mountain itself is created from Immortal Mar-Tu’s Spiritual Palace. There is an abundance of Metal Aether Energy at its center."
Mar-Du nodded before he turned to his son and said.
"Go ahead, after this you’ll be recognized as the future Tribe Leader, not just of our Bloodline Tribe but the entire Barbarian Race. But nothing will be easier, rather you’ll have to live up to very high expectations in the future."
Mar-Du grinned.
"Don’t worry Dad, I’m the greatest genius our Barbarian Race has seen in the last ten thousand years! I’ll easily shatter those expectations and even surpass them."
Mar-Du was amused by his son’s prideful demeanor, but it was expected as his statement wasn’t far from the truth.
Just the Runic Body Technique he created was enough for him to claim this title, but his talent in Martial Arts wasn’t far behind.
However, even though his statement was somewhat true, it wasn’t the whole truth as his twin sister was equally talented. Though Mar-Dule would always conveniently leave this out whenever he introduced himself with such a claim.
Mar-Yue glared at Mar-Dule but said nothing.
It would be bad if she broke a couple of his ribs at a time like this, so she retrained herself.
Mar-Dule ignored his sister’s threatening looks before he asked.
"Are you guys not going to come inside to take a look?"
Abdu suddenly spoke up.
"The wisp of Immortal Mar-Tu’s soul stated that only those inheriting his bloodline can enter."
"Hm, that’s unfortunate, I wanted to see inside."
Sol said after hearing Abdu’s statement.
Mar-Dule’s eyes suddenly lit up and he yelled.
"I’ll just go take a look and come back to tell you!"
After saying that, Mar-Dule’s rotund figure dashed towards the temple. With one leap he got over the dozen steps or so and landed in front of the double stone doors at the entrance.
Upon stabilizing his posture, Mar-Dule lifted his foot to kick the stone doors in.
"Mar-Dule!"
Mar-Du yelled when he saw what his son was about to do. He then sighed in exasperation before saying.
"This is a temple that our ancestors once stayed in. How can you be so disrespectful to destroy the entrance?"
Mar-Dule’s leg stopped just inches away from the stone doors and smiled sheepishly as he lowered his foot and said.
"Sorry, I was too excited."
Afterward, he pushed one of the stone doors open and scooted inside in a respectful manner.
Immediately after Mar-Dule entered the temple, Mar-Yue looked at her father and said.
"Why didn’t you allow him to kick the stone door? I would have liked to see him break his foot."
Mar-Du shook his head at his daughter’s words, while Sol forced a smile.
As it turns out, this stone temple was quite sturdy. It was made of a similar material to the stone monument, though it seemed to be of a higher quality.
If Sol had to guess, even if he went all out using all the means he had, he wouldn’t even be able to add an inch of crack to the ones already on its surface.
’I wonder what kind of material this is.’
As if reading Sol’s mind, Abdu said.
"That temple is made from Celestial Stone, a material that was highly valuable even back when the Violet Continent was named the Violent Continent. Think of it as a material that only Immortals could use, but I assume it’s all but vanished over time."
After listening to Abdu, both Sol and Mar-Yue glanced at Mar-Du.
After thinking for a moment, Mar-Du said.
"If it’s material like the stone monument then I’ve never seen it outside of our Eternal Desert. Aside from this temple and the stone monument, this material called Celestial Stone is used to build the main tribe of the Earth Tribe."
A look of realization appeared on Mar-Yue’s face since she had visited the Earth Tribe before. Now that she thought about it, she once thought their buildings resembled the material used to create the stone monument then.
After a minute or two of waiting, Mar-Dule’s figure suddenly emerged from the temple.
A disappointed expression was on his face as he approached.
"There is only a single meditation mat in there, aside from that the temple is completely empty! I’ve even dug up a few of the tiles to see if any treas-"
Mar-Dule abruptly stopped talking as Mar-Du glared at him.
"I mean, I moved some loose tiles that were already cracked to see if ancestor Mar-Tu had left any treasures behind for our Barbarian Race."
Mar-Du sighed in exasperation for the second time.
"How shameless can you get to be thinking of getting more treasures on top of receiving ancestor Mar-Tu’s bloodline?"
Mar-Dule smiled sheepishly before he turned to Sol and said.
"In the future, you better be on alert! I’m not leaving this mountain until I reach the Spiritual Realm, even if takes several months or several years. But at the same time, I don’t want to exit seclusion and see that I’ve completely surpassed you. It would be too boring if I had no competition in the tournament."
"I’m planning to go into seclusion too. I’ll be on the mountain next to yours."
Sol said as he pointed at the rolling clouds. There in the distance, the peak of a mountain was barely poking out of the clouds.
