Chapter 286: Chapter 286- Something Needed To Change

After casting these horrifying thoughts away, Mar-Du sighed for the umpteenth time then said to Sol.

"This just made it more difficult for me to reveal your secrets even if I wanted to, so be at ease."

Sol flashed a smile and nodded. He no longer had any reservations, and he abruptly took a step forward and left Mar-Du’s yellow rune.

"Ah!"

Mar-Yue was so surprised she involuntarily released a cry.

However, she along with her father and brother quickly saw that Sol was completely fine, as if the heat didn’t affect him.

After stepping out of the yellow rune, Sol slowly floated into the air.

"Abdu, are you okay? Or do you want to stay inside Senior Mar-Du’s rune?"

Sol suddenly asked as he floated up.

Abdu who was leisurely lying down on Sol’s head with his eyes closed, only hummed in response.

Abdu’s body had partially become a dark mist. His ability of Dissemination made it so even the heat couldn’t harm him.

"I’ll make it quick, so your wounds won’t aggravate."

Abdu opened his eyes and looked down at Sol.

"Can you even get rid of these flames?"

Sol remained silent for a moment then said.

"It’s kind of hard to explain, but I feel like these flames aren’t that great. My Holy Crest isn’t agitated because it’s scared, but because it views these flames as if their..."

Sol’s words trailed off; he wasn’t sure how to describe these strange feelings.

"Blasphemous?"

Abdu finished for him, and Sol forced a smile at the choice of word but still nodded.

Then closing his eyes, Sol inhaled deeply.

The bracelets on his wrists expanded but this time they didn’t contract over his two middle fingers. Instead, they floated behind him and began rotating slowly.

Sol had long realized the sealing ability only fully worked on him when it was around his wrists or ankles, where there were spiraling symbols left around them when his Father first passed the bracelets to him.

When they were around his middle fingers, they were like a filter that slowly unsealed his bloodlines. But now he allowed his bloodlines to flow unimpeded.

After Sol released the breath he had inhaled, his hair suddenly turned a bright golden color to the astonishment of Mar-Du and Mar-Yue.

However, Mar-Du squinted his eyes when he felt the Holy Power rolling out from Sol’s body.

"Dad, Sol isn’t from the Western Continent, he said grew up in the Demonic Forest."

Mar-Dule said nervously when he saw his father’s squinted eyes.

"The Demonic Forest? Could it be that he grew up in the Demonic Forest but he’s from the Western Continent?"

Mar-Dule paused hearing this but shook his head.

"I’m not sure, but I believe Sol when he said he isn’t from the Western Continent. Plus, didn’t the barrier only start weakening three years ago?"

Mar-Yue suddenly cut into the conversation with something completely unrelated.

"Why doesn’t he leave his hair like that? It looks better."

Mar-Dule paused then said.

"Big Sis, Sol would probably be in trouble if he did that."

"Why? Because people would think he’s from the Western Region? But isn’t the Western Region coming to the Martial Alliance Academy? At that point does it matter what others think?"

Mar-Dule paused once again to organize his thoughts before he explained slowly.

"It does matter what people think. Sol isn’t from either the Western Region or our Eastern Continent, that type of detachment along with his talents would prompt anyone to want to bring him to their side. But at the same time, at the back of these people’s minds would be the notion to kill Sol if he’s unwilling to bow his head to them. No matter what, Sol is already playing the part of someone from our Eastern Continent, at this moment in time, it’s best for him if it stays that."

Mar-Yue was extremely smart, but she lacked the knowledge to dissect the complicated politics between these top powers.

Being that Mar-Dule had been groomed to become the next Tribe Leader, he undoubtedly had a good grasp of these things. So, he didn’t mind patiently explaining the tricky situation Sol was in to Mar-Yue.

After listening to her brother, Mar-Yue nodded before turning back to look at Sol.

Mar-Du silently looked at his son and daughter with a smile before he returned his gaze to Sol as well.

’Let’s see what other surprises I’ll get.’

After Sol activated Reverse Total Eclipse, the Holy Crest sun tattoo shined brightly as it was empowered by the crescent moon behind it.

Sol’s protective outer coat and braided hair behind him flapped wildly as a golden shimmer covered his body. When he opened his closed eyes, this golden shimmer was even brighter in his now golden pupils.

Sol glanced down at his hand.

He was once repulsed by this power, but now he was willing to use it without restraint.

However, if his Master was to ever see him like this, Sol had no doubt he would become enraged.

Ever since he left the Hundred Plants and Herbs dimension, Sol had essentially forsaken his Master’s teachings and instead placed his focus on his two bloodlines.

That caused his understanding of himself to increase along with the powers he could draw from his bloodlines, however, his Immortal Cultivation had completely stagnated.

Sol had never cultivated his Holy Power before, but he could tell it was equivalent to the power of someone who had opened all the acupoints in four of his limbs. If he used his crescent moon to empower it, he could wield power close to someone in the Spiritual Realm.

The same went for his physical strength but it was slightly stronger. He was physically as strong as a Quasi-Spiritual Realm, but if his crescent moon was empowered by his Holy Crest, he had the power to fight Spiritual Realm cultivators.

Both his Flesh Body and Holy Power were so strong, but what about his Immortal Cultivation?

If he lost both his bloodlines right now, along with all the benefits it gave him like his completely refined bones, if Sol was only left with his Innate Dharma, the pitiful amount of acupoints he had opened, and the Runic Technique his master gave him which he had combined with Su-Moon’s formation, he might barely be able to match the strength of someone that had opened all of the acupoints in their four limbs.

A Quasi-Spiritual Realm cultivator might not be able to slap him to death, but he would definitely be left on the brink of death.

His reliance on his bloodlines while neglecting his Innate Dharma and Runic Techniques can’t continue, it just couldn’t. Something needed to change.

"I’ve decided, I won’t use my two bloodlines anymore under any circumstances. Not until I’m at a level of strength where I can freely use it in the open without fearing anyone coming after me."
