Chapter 255: Chapter 255- A Parting Gift
"What kind of Formation is that? It completely hides that child from my sight."
"His ability to conceal his presence is abnormal as well. If I wasn’t expecting it, I would have no way to sense his presences besides the small fluctuations he’s creating. And it seems that’s because he hasn’t fully mastered this ability. I can’t imagine what would happen after he does."
"Is he perhaps from the Land of Shadows? With this kind of ability, he might make a terrifying assassin. After he enters the Spiritual Realm and fully masters these abilities, even Heaven Expanse Spiritual Realm cultivators might die by his hands without knowing."
As the Elders were discussing Sol’s strange affinity for becoming an assassin, the young man said calmly.
"Even someone of my level would need to be careful of him in the future."
The Elders were shocked when they heard that.
"Tribe Leader, don’t tell me you can’t see through this Formation either?"
"I can detect its existence, but to see through it is impossible. After he masters his ability to erase his presence, I won’t be able to sense him as easily as I do now."
"That-How can that be? Just what kind of Formation could allow a Mortal Realm cultivator to hide from someone in the Heavenly Realm?"
"Right, the existence of such a Formation goes against the Heavens."
"Did the disciples of the Martial Alliance Academy not enter the dimension in Jianghu recently? Could he perhaps have gotten-"
"Let’s not delve into this child’s secrets. It’s too shameless for us of the older generation to do so."
After the young man said this, the First Elder turned to sturnly look at the old man who was speculating where Sol got his Heavenly Samsara Formation.
"But why would he reveal this Formation to us?"
The young man paused before he smiled and said.
"It seems like he’s testing us."
The First Elder laughed heartily and then said.
"This brat is something, is he not afraid we’ll greedily go after his secrets? He’s too trusting to take such risks."
"Risk? There are rumors going around that he’s the second disciple of senior Huan-Ho of the Huashan Sect. Even if the rumors turn out to be false, just him teaching his famous Heavenly Stride Movement Skill shows he has a favorable impression of this child. And that is not to mention this boy was specially recruited by that mysterious Headmaster of the Alchemy Pavilion that showed up at the Academy suddenly. Anyone of these two would be troublesome if our Barbarian Race were to make enemies of them."
Hearing this, the eight Elders understood.
Despite not coming from a powerful background, this child was tied to some powerful individuals in Jianghu.
"Ah, then that’s even more of a reason why we should form a friendly relationship with him."
’Rise.’
The young man nodded at the First Elder’s words, but as he was focused on the battle below, he suddenly sensed something that caused all the hair on the back of his neck to stand up.
"Wha-What’s that?"
The First Elder asked shocked.
On the ground, the Sand King was searching around for Sol without any luck. However, it suddenly paused to watch as the sand in the surroundings started to rise up.
In an instant, the sand surged and gathered together to form... ??
The Sand King was shocked as it came face to face with a sand version of itself.
SCREECH!!!
This sand... Sand King?– released a cry before it charged towards the Sand King.
The Sand King was confused, but it didn’t hesitate to open its mouth and spit out its terrifying black flames towards this impostor.
Swoosh!
The pillar of black flames washed over this fake Sand King and the sand it was made from started to crystallize.
However, as the Sand King stopped its attack thinking it had won, the now crystallized Sand King moved to attack.
Enraged, the Sand King released a roar and used its body to slam into the fake Sand King, which resulted in a loud bang.
The Sand King and its fake counterpart were then embroiled in a vicious battle.
However, it could be seen that the Sand King was on the winning end, as the fake had cracks appearing on its body.
But this was enough for Sol, who at the moment was standing in the air above the two beasts.
Below his feet were the two bracelets that were once on his wrists.
While looking at the battle below, Sol thought.
’As I had imagined, fighting a Spirit Beast is completely different from fighting another human.’
When fighting another person, Sol could use his Heavenly Eyes to see their shoulder and leg muscles to predict their attacks, but this Sand King obviously didn’t have shoulders or legs.
It felt like all the battle experience he had up until now was utterly useless.
He fought against Little Nheer back in the Ibbian Mountain Range, but that could hardly be called a real fight.
Sol could have used Mar-Yue’s suggestion to fight it from a distance, after all, he specialized in the bow.
However, using his bow would defeat the purpose of fighting the Sand King in the first place. He wasn’t fighting it to win but to gain battle experience, and he felt he wouldn’t be able to do so with a bow.
"Is this why they say swords, sabers, and blades are the best weapons for combat?"
Sol using one of those weapons in a situation like this where he wasn’t fighting to win, was better than using a bow. However, there was still the problem with the fact that he wasn’t fighting another person but a Spirit Beast, so a sword and the like wouldn’t have helped much either.
’I used my Reverse Total Eclipse to create a clone of it so I could get close enough to perform my last attack, but I hope it wasn’t noticed.’
The last thing Sol wanted was rumors spreading to Jianghu that he was from the Western Region. His hair could maybe be ruled out as a result of his bloodline, but being able to use Holy Power should be kept a secret at all costs.
’I should probably talk to Mar-Dule about that.’
Sol then glanced at the sandstorm that was only a few hundred meters away, before turning back to the Sand King who was destroying his creation.
"This is the end, but I’ve learned a lot from this battle. But before I go, let me give you a parting gift."
Sol clenched his fist and then threw out a punch.
To everyone watching this, it seemed like this attack came out of thin air.
After defeating its clone, the Sand King was not expecting an attack from above.
With a loud bang, Sol’s illusory fist landed on its back and it released a cry of agony as its scales were torn apart.
