Chapter 245- Big Sis Is Right!

Chapter 245: Chapter 245- Big Sis Is Right!

"Seniors, I don’t mind having a spar, but I came here to help a friend."

Sol turned to look at Mar-Dule, but Mar-Dule almost choked on his food when he heard him.

The burly men also paused, and then collectively laughed.

Sol was confused by their reaction.

Mar-Dule wiped his lips and hurriedly said.

"Sol, these are my cousins. A few of them are older than me by a year or two, but they aren’t old enough to be called seniors."

Yoon-Jae’s expression changed when he heard this, and Sol too was shocked.

The physiques of these people were unnatural. Each of them looked to be over six feet tall at the very least.

"Haha, is it our muscles that fooled you? We just finished our morning training, what do you think?"

One of the youths said as he suddenly started flexing his biceps.

"Ha! Look at this, mine is bigger!"

"That’s a joke, it’s barely above six inches, that’s just average. Mine’s at least seven!"

"Quite lying, you obviously didn’t measure it correctly. If yours is seven, then mine is eight!"

Suddenly, an argument about whose muscles were bigger started between these hotblooded youths.

It seems this was a daily occurrence for them.

Food started flying sometime into the argument, causing Sol and Yoon-Jae to be taken aback.

In the midst of the boys’ argument, a few kids and the girls, as if used to their bickering, continued to eat while chatting amongst themselves.

The girls were wearing protective robes, which were quite baggy so their physiques weren’t clear. But from the looks of it, it wasn’t as exaggerated as the boys.

Though size isn’t everything, no doubt their physical strengths weren’t lacking.

In the midst of this ensuing argument, Sol leaned over to Mar-Dule who was to his right, and asked.

"Are all of them your cousins?"

Mar-Dule nodded.

"Some are my nieces and nephews, but overall my family is really, really big. I don’t know the exact number since most of them are in the other Safe Zones, but to give you an estimate, everyone in this Tribe is either my family by blood, or by marriage."

Sol and Yoon-Jae were kind of surprised, but then again the Clans in Jianghu were the same.

However, Mar-Dule then went on to explain a few more things that shocked the two.

For example, he was the only son his father had out of thirty-two children. That was on top of him being the youngest.

"Most of my older sisters are in the other Safe Zones, having been married off and started a family there. But they would usually send my nephews here to train, they’re the kids from before. It’s a tradition so my aunts are the same."

"So all the females are shipped out leaving the males here?"

Yoon-Jae asked, and Mar-Dule frowned a bit.

"You don’t have to say it like that. I admit my Father used my sisters as a means to control the other Tribes by marrying them to the future Tribe Leaders. But it’s never by force, they can always choose to remain here or leave the Eternal Desert for a life in Jianghu and the Land of Shadows. The only requirement is that their children would have to visit the Tribe once in a while. But this doesn’t just apply to the women of the tribe but the men too. So there aren’t just men living in the tribe currently, there are women too. If it was only men, then the Tribe would have collapsed."

Mar-Dule motioned to the scene in front of him as he said that last part.

Having been annoyed at the ever-growing argument, the girls all turned to glare at the boys; who were either their cousins or brothers.

This effectively got them to settle down.

"How do you keep track of such a large family?"

Sol asked, and Mar-Dule paused before he said.

"We just do. I know every one of my family members’ names by heart, they’re pretty simple so it’s easy to remember them. Look, he’s my third cousin from my twentieth uncle, his name is Mar-Ca. While she’s my little niece from my eighth older sister, Mar-Su. And he’s-"

"Wait, wait, don’t tell me everyone’s name starts with Mar?"

Mar-Dule nodded.

"We don’t have the same naming sense as those in Jianghu or the Land of Shadows, but our way of naming makes it simple and easy to remember for us."

"Yeah, but at some point someone is going to have the same name. What do you do then?"

Mar-Dule didn’t respond and instead turned to the table and called.

"Mar-Yule."

"Huh?"

"What is it?"

"You called cousin?"

"What’s up?"

About four heads turned to Mar-Dule, causing Sol and Yoon-Jae to be floored.

But Mar-Dule suddenly said.

"I’m talking to third Mar-Yule."

"What is it, cousin?"

One of the four youths said while the other three turned around and went back to eating.

This caused Sol to force a smile, while Yoon-Jae almost wanted to smack his forehead.

They both truly underestimated how simpleminded the Barbarian Race was.

"I’m looking for that old granny, have you seen her?"

"Ah, big sis is probably at her tent right now."

"Thanks."

Mar-Dule said before he turned to Sol and Yoon-Jae.

"Let’s go."

He then got up and led the two away.

But Mar-Yule suddenly said.

"Wait, cousin. Umm, about big sis..."

"What about her?"

Mar-Dule asked when he saw his cousin hesitating.

Another one of the youths spoke up for him.

"She’s been acting weird lately. You’ll see when you meet her."

Mar-Dule frowned at that, but he turned to leave with Yoon-Jae and Sol.

The youths at the table all waved at Sol and Yoon-Jae goodbye.

After they left, one of the girls at the table leaned over and whispered to another girl.

"Don’t you think he’s quite good-looking?"

"Which one? They both are. I even thought the one named Yoon-Jae was a girl for a moment."

"He’s good-looking too, but I’m talking about Sol. I heard he’s from our Barbarian Race, but I honestly don’t see it."

"Yeah, I rather get myself a boy like him than one of these muscle heads."

The girl who said this turned to look at her brother who was stuffing his face. She scowled at the sight.

"Can’t you eat better? What girl would want a man who eats like there’s no tomorrow?"

"Huh?"

The boy looked at his sister in confusion.

"Why are you suddenly yelling at me for? And you used to eat like this before big sis started saying those things."

The girl snorted.

"Well, big sis is right."

"Yeah, girls like us should be refined and ladylike, and you boys should be gentle and attractive."

"What? I’m plenty attractive, can’t you see these muscles?"

The boy said flexing his muscles, but his sister and her friend, who was also his cousin, scolded him.

Getting scolded like this, the boy felt helpless frustration rise in his heart. All of a sudden it wasn’t cool to show off his muscles anymore.

He didn’t get why the girls were suddenly acting like this, and neither did the other boys in the Tribe when their big sis started acting so strangely.
