Chapter 210: Chapter 210- Battling A Spiritual Realm Cultivator

After Elder Hyun-Joo stopped her bombardment of attacks, a terrifying image could be seen below.

All the trees within a three-hundred-meter radius were nowhere in sight. But what might be more horrifying was the fact that there was no damage to the ground itself.

Elder Hyun-Joo’s control of her strength was outstanding.

The only thing that remained was a tree stump that was dead center in the middle of the clearing.

Elder Hyun-Joo looked satisfied as she lowered herself to take a seat on it. She rested her sword against the stump and folded her legs.

Even in a place like this, she remained refined and elegant.

However, something was wrong.

Feeling the searing heat from the sun Elder Hyun-Joo blushed a bit.

She had impulsively cut down the trees that would have given her shade from this dreadful heat.

Even though she looked refined and elegant, Hyun-Joo was often times too rash in how she did things.

Aside from cutting down her only shade, this could be seen by the fact that she came here, and only after did she think it could possibly be a trap.

Having an impulsive personality was one of her many flaws that made Hyun-Joo’s grandaunt and Matriach of the Emei Sect ignore her existence.

The only thing she ever got from this grandnaunt was this Yin Celestial Stone, and even then it was because her mother guilt-tripped her into giving her granddaughter, Hyun-Joo, something for being accepted in the Martial Alliance Academy.

But that was several decades ago.

Elder Hyun-Joo fiddled with the necklace around her neck. It had both the Yang and the Yin Celestial Stones around it. They seemed to have fused with each other; one side being black and the other being white.

Elder Hyun-Joo soon came out of her daze state of remembrance and gripped the Celestial Stones in frustration.

She had a problem with these stones.

After she combined the two together to form the Immortal Artifact she saw in those books, it turned into an ordinary stone.

She didn’t know what was wrong with it.

’I need to find that brat. When I do I’ll make him spit out the method to use this thing.’

But before she could find him, there was this issue with that City Lord.

Tsk!

Elder Hyun-Joo couldn’t help but click her tongue.

She didn’t doubt the City Lord knew about Celestial Stones since he was in cahoots with that brat. And she wasn’t subtle at all when she was trying to get the Yang Celestial Stone from Dae Han.

It wouldn’t be hard for him to put the pieces together and come up with this plan to blackmail her to find a way to escape the City.

’Just you wait, the moment you show up I’ll kill you.’

Unbeknownst to Hyun-Joo her rashness was clouding her judgment once again.

Of course, it wasn’t impossible for the City Lord to figure out she wanted to keep it a secret that she had an Immortal Treasure from the Forgotten Sect. But logically, the City Lord was too incompetent to even think of coming up with a plan to blackmail her; he would be too terrified.

Rather than killing the City Lord, someone else would be suspicious enough to hold him captive to question him.

Tsk!

Hyun-Joo clicked her tongue once again, it had been several minutes since she sat down.

"How dare that bastard make me wait in this heat?"

She flipped her palm and took out a fan. While placing the weight of her body on her left hand, she fanned herself with her right.

Hyun-Joo seemed extremely relaxed, but her Soul Energy was spread out to sense the movements in the surroundings.

She was rash and impatient, but she wasn’t stupid to a fault.

However, she didn’t take into account that her Soul Energy might not work in sensing this particular danger.

"Ah!"

Hyun-Joo released a surprised scream as she jumped up.

Reaching up with her hand, she removed a hair-like needle that was in her neck.

She then watched in horror as the blood on the needle visibly turned an ominous black color. Hyun-Joo also felt a burning sensation where the needle had been. Her veins in that area slowly turned black.

’Poison.’

Hyun-Joo’s body shook and she immediately grabbed her sword and went on high alert. She also circulated her Aether Energy to stop the poison from spreading, but her expression quickly changed.

Her Aether Energy dissipated upon coming into contact with this poison.

"W-What kind of poison is this?!"

Hyun-Joo was in a panic. How can a poison be resistant to Aether Energy? She had never heard of a poison like this before.

"Show yourself!"

Hyun-Joo’s Soul Energy swept out as her eyes scanned the surroundings.

However, her body suddenly disappeared as she took to the sky.

It seemed as if she was ready to confront the person who poisoned her, but her real intention was to flee.

In that split second, she realized someone wanted her dead, and they were in possession of this deadly poison.

She needed to get back to the City and find a way to get rid of it. Why waste her time finding this assassin?

Swoosh!

Hyun-Joo left a streak of white light as she flew up, however, before she could make it far a burning sensation appeared on the back of her hand.

She looked down and saw that it was another needle.

’How? I was coating my body with Aether Energy. Just how deadly is this poison?’

Hyun-Joo felt death looming over her.

She immediately stopped in her tracks.

’Change of plans.’

There was no way she was going to fly back to the City without this poison spreading to every inch of her body in the process.

She needed to get the antidote from this person... if there even was one.

Hyun-Joo was scared.

"COME OUT!!!"

Swoosh!

Hyun-Joo slashed out with her sword. She didn’t stop and she continued to hack away in the surroundings.

If this person had to hide and use poison, that meant they weren’t confident in killing her in a head-on battle.

However, Hyun-Joo’s wish of attacking wildly to force this person out proved fruitless, resulting in her panicking even more.

This poison was slowly spreading throughout her body, she could only use her abundance of Aether Energy to form barriers to slow it down before it reached her vital organs.

No, this poison was also after her Soul, Hyun-Joo could feel her Soul Energy weakening by the second.

Her actions became more frenzied.

"I SAID COME OUT!!"

BOOM!!!

Explosion raged on the ground as Hyun-Joo attacked desperately.

In the midst of this barrage of attacks, Sol was standing next to the tree stump looking up at Hyun-Joo’s in the sky.

Despite standing still, none of Hyun-Joo’s attacks had come in his direction.

"Sol, what are you doing?’"

Abdu currently had his Soul Energy spread out to control Sol’s Heavenly Samsara Formation to hide their figures from Hyun-Joo’s Soul Energy.

Sol had dropped the last needle coated with the third drop of poison.

"Little Abdu, I’ve been thinking about how I can become stronger. I think this is an opportunity that I shouldn’t pass up. I want to see how strong I am compared to a real Spiritual Realm cultivator."

Abdu looked down at Sol as if he had gone mad.

"You brat, did you plan this all along?"

"I’m never going to get stronger if I don’t push myself. I won’t get a better time than this to fight a Spiritual Realm cultivator with my life on the line."

Abdu was about to vehemently reject Sol’s idea to fight Hyun-Joo, but when he saw his expression, Abdu realized there was no point in saying anything. Sol had already made up his mind.

"Fine, do what you want."

Sol nodded but then added.

"Don’t interfere Little Abdu."

Abdu paused before he sighed and disappeared from Sol’s head.

"Don’t die brat."

His voice lingered in the surroundings.

"I won’t, I already thought this through."

As soon as Adbu left, Sol formed a hand seal and retrieved his Heavenly Samara Formation.

He then exhaled a long breath and started doing some stretches.

His appearance was immediately noticed by the now haggard-looking Hyun-Joo.

"BASTARD!!"

Hyun-Joo roared out.

In a distorted voice, Sol said.

"If you won’t the antidote then come get it."

After touching his toes, Sol fished his stretches and looked up at Hyun-Joo.

Hyun-Joo’s eyes narrowed, and her figure suddenly disappeared.

The next thing Sol saw was the tip of a sword just inches away from piercing his forehead.

’Too fast!’
