Chapter 157: Chapter 157- A Pile Of Storage Rings
The way how Yoon-Jae was explaining things sounds really scandalous, even Ji-Hoon who already knew the story was getting drawn in much-less Sol.
"Brother Yoon-Jae, what happened when the news got out?"
"Haha, shocking things. The Wudang Sect got into conflict with the Emei Sect. But ultimately the Third Elder chose to leave the Emie Sect for the Wudang Sect. However, it was only after did everyone find out it was because she was pregnant with Geon-Soo. In reality, it was the Emie Sect that kicked her out. However..."
Yoon-Jae suddenly paused and Sol instinctively leaned in.
Yoon-Jae smirked when he saw this before he continued to say.
"As it turned out, everything was a scam!"
"A scam? What do you mean Brother Yoon-Jae?"
"Well, the Emei Sect lied, and this lie went as far back as they existed. Their Founding Cultivation Method didn’t require them to practice celibacy at all. In hindsight, that should have been obvious. What the cultivation method instead required was the Yang Essence of a talented cultivator who is still a virgin. As it turns out the Wudang Sect’s Patriarch was hailed as the greatest genius the Wudang Sect has ever produced. And he only ever had one wife and a child, which was Woo-Seong, so the Emei Sect targetted him since his Yang Essence was likely still intact somewhat."
"So the Emei Sect schemed to get the Yang Essence from the Wudang Sect’s Patriarch?"
That to Sol didn’t sound like anything major. Well maybe it would be hurtful to find out the woman you love was only after your seed, but these were existences that lived through numerous lifetimes. What haven’t they experienced?
Yoon-Jae shook his head.
"It might not sound like a big deal if you think about it like that, but the Emei Sect has been doing this in secret for many years. By the time anyone noticed, almost all of the top powers in Jianghu has married someone from the Emei Sect. However, this was the first time someone from the Emei Sect acquired the Yang Essence of someone like the Wudang Sect’s Patriarch. Currently, the Third Elder is said to be the strongest cultivator among the Six Sects, even stronger than the leader of the Shoaling Sect. The only person who can match up to her is the Patriarch of the Namgung Clan, Sword Peak Baekho."
Sol stood there taking all of this in, but he suddenly thought of something and asked.
"But what about Yun-Soo how does he come in?"
With a smile, Yoon-Jae said.
"Well, turns out the Patriarch of the Wudang Sect was wearing a green hat the whole time he was with that woman. Right after she had Geon-Soo and news about her and the Emei Sect’s plans were found out, she fell pregnant a few months later by a man nobody knows. It’s speculated that he’s just an ordinary mortal she happened to fall in love with at the time."
Sol’s eyes widen slightly.
"But wait, Yun-Soo and Geon-Soo are still a part of the Wudang Sect, why is that the case?"
Ji-Hoon pitched in to answer this question.
"It is said that the Wudang Sect’s Patriarch will give anything his son Woo-Seong asks for. And because Woo-Seong wanted Geon-Soo to stay the Patriarch granted his request. As for Yun-Soo, he joined the Wudang Sect because the Emei Sect does not allow men to enter, and it was also rumored that the Third Elder doesn’t care for the both of them or see them as her sons."
Yoon-Jae then added to that.
"Even though Yun-Soo wasn’t related to the Wudang Sect, he was allowed to enter because Geon-Soo asked Woo-Seong, who then asked his Father for him to stay and he agreed. But he must have loved his son a lot for him to keep those two in his sights. They’re just a constant reminder of his green-hat relationship."
Sol saw that Yoon-Jae was grinning from ear to ear, it looked like he live for gossip like this.
Well, Sol couldn’t say he wasn’t fascinated by such a situation. Though, he figured that this case must be a drop in the bucket. After all, with these cultivators’ extremely long lifespans, there must be some more shocking controversies that happened in the past.
"Supreme Elder, another thing is that the Emei Sect had gifted the Wudang Sect one of their two Immortal Treasures, the Sword of Severance, as compensation."
"Ha! Even that was within their plans since that sword was originally the Wudang Sect’s own. It’s one of the two Immortal Treasures the Wudang Sect lost inside this very Dimension back in the past. The Wudang Sect has been hounding the Emei Sect for the Sword of Severance ever since they found it, meanwhile, they comb through this dimension ever so often for the other one. That second Immortal Treasure they lost was said to be a powerful storage ring that could hold an entire City!"
After finishing his statement, Abdu suddenly said.
"You mean this..."
Ding!
A ring suddenly appeared out of nowhere with the wave of Abdu’s paw. It clattered onto the ground before rolling to a stop at Yoon-Jae’s foot.
Yoon-Jae, Sol, and Ji-Hoon stared at this black ring with dumbfounded expressions.
After a few seconds of silence, Ji-Hoon tried to ask.
"Is-Is that really-"
"What the fuck?! Is that the Wudang Sect’s Immortal Treasure?!"
Yoon-Jae looked up at Abdu, followed by Ji-Hoon and Sol.
Abdu casually responded with.
"Maybe, maybe not, but ever since the Wudang Sect was brought up I’ve been wondering where I’ve read that name before. Turns out it was from a book I briefly glanced at in that storage ring."
Yoon-Jae’s body shook, and he hurriedly dive towards the storage ring to pick it up.
Holding it in his hand, Yoon-Jae tried to access it by sending his Aether Energy inside, but it was instantly rejected.
With a frown he said.
"I can’t open this with my Aether Energy, it looks like only Spiritual Realm cultivator’s Soul Energy can."
Yoon-Jae looked towards Ji-Hoon who shook his head.
"I haven’t condensed my Soul Core yet."
"Little Abdu, can you open the storage ring for us?"
Abdu didn’t reply, but he raised his pawn and wiggled it in the direction of the storage ring. His Soul Energy traveled to the storage ring and entered it.
The runes on the storage ring lit up before a dozen small boxes or so, along with a few manuals appeared.
"Parts of the space inside the ring collapsed, so this destroyed most of what was inside of it."
Sol, Yoon-Jae, and Ji-Hoon curiously went to look at the items.
Sol was the first to take up one of the small boxes and opened it.
However, he was suddenly hit face-first with a vile gaseous fog that carried with it a pungent smell that made him gag.
The smell immediately spread to Ji-Hoon and Yoon-Jae and they too felt their stomachs churn.
Sol immediately closed the box before running over to a corner and emptying the contents of his stomach.
Abdu had leaped away the moment Sol opened the box, so he was relatively fine.
"Sol, what was inside that box?"
Yoon-Jea asked while pinching his nose.
"It was...*bleh*... a medicinal pill. But... *bleh*... I don’t... I don’t think it’s good anymore... *blah*"
Sol could stop himself from vomiting if he wanted to, a cultivator had more control over their body than a regular mortal, but he felt like if he did, that smell would linger in his senses.
Maybe it was a placebo effect, but it was better to vomit than endure this god-awful smell.
"This is-?!"
Ji-Hoon suddenly exclaimed in shock as he looked through a manual he had picked up.
"Is it a Martial Skill from the Wudang Sect?"
Yoon-Jae jumped up and went over to Ji-Hoon followed by Sol who had recovered somewhat.
"No, it isn’t a Martial Skill, it’s... it’s a method of Dual Cultivation... but..."
Ji-Hoon wasn’t able to finish his words as a red blush suddenly crept onto his face.
Yoon-Jae frowned at his reaction while Sol showed a curious expression.
The two reached his side and then looked down at the book he was holding. Upon seeing the contents of the book, the two had completely different reactions.
Sol’s reaction was to blush and look away, but Yoon-Jae’s reaction was to take the book from Ji-Hoon to have a closer look while a curious expression played on his face.
"Ehem... Brother Yoon-Jae, you can have the rest of these books if you want."
Ji-Hoon said as he pushed the other books to Yoon-Jae, who nodded and said.
"Sure, I’ll take them."
As for what was in those books, let’s just say the person who had this storage ring had some unique preferences for a Dual Cultivation partner.
Sol stood by the side smiling awkwardly while scratching his cheek. Then turning to Abdu he suddenly asked.
"Little Adbu, do you have any more storage rings?"
Abdu paused licking his fur, to wiggle his paw. Immediately, a small pile of storage rings appeared to everyone’s shock.
Looking at all the storage rings, Sol finally understood why he didn’t find any on the corpses in Su Moon’s Palace.
