The Great Sword is not the Main Body! -
Chapter 189 – The Primordial Beast
Unlike Leviathan who hid underground and concealed its form, Behemoth’s colossal body revealed upon the earth was enough to shake the Liberation Army to their core.
Amid the chaos, Juur—who regained his composure faster than others—began searching for Hermilla’s and Delia’s magical signatures.
But it was futile.
The ancient magic flowing from Behemoth’s body had disrupted all surrounding magical currents.
However, knowing nothing about Behemoth, Juur had no way of understanding this.
Originally, Juur would survey the battlefield, assess situations across different locations, and supply resources as needed. But with telepathic transmission blocked, he could no longer fulfill that role.
In that frustrating moment—
Delia appeared, looking completely disheveled. Her expression conveyed urgency. From behind her, a presence radiating destruction could be sensed. Heinzel was nowhere to be seen. Only the sounds of desperate battle echoed from the distance.
Reinforcements needed to be sent. Everything had to be focused on the western front where battle had already erupted.
At the very least, Heinzel and Delia needed to be extracted from there.
But there was no way to communicate such orders.
So, even if it meant taking a risk, direct intervention was necessary.
Grinding his teeth, Juur forced his trembling body forward and began equipping his gear one piece at a time.
Meanwhile, Charlotte had already donned her heavy armor before Juur had.
“The west, right? I’ll go. You stay here.”
“Your Highness.”
“Just listen.”
“I cannot allow it.”
CLANG—!
Charlotte’s massive shield slammed into the ground, cutting off Juur’s words.
“Shut up. You stay here and hold your position. I’m going.”
“But…”
“Ugh, damn it… Haah… Juur, I’m an adventurer at heart. Not a princess. If I were going to play princess, I wouldn’t have listened to you in the first place, and I wouldn’t even be here.”
Charlotte snarled as she tightly tied her hair and let it fall over her shoulder.
“And right now, your clairvoyance and everything else is useless, isn’t it? Plus, you can’t even use magic, right? What are you going to do in that state?”
Though harsh, Juur could feel the concern behind Charlotte’s words.
In terms of combat strength, she was weaker than even an average Silver-ranked adventurer. And now, with her one advantage—magic control—sealed, what could she possibly do?
“…That applies to you as well, Your Highness. If I can’t use magic, then neither can anyone else.”
Charlotte was no exception, surely. Even Juur, known for superior magic control, couldn’t use magic in this situation. How could Charlotte be any different?
But—
“I’m different.”
Fwoosh—
Charlotte truly was different.
Brilliant flames erupted from her massive Mistilteinn shield. Intense heat radiated through her crimson armor, darker than blood. Her golden hair, tinged with red, deepened in hue. The Empire’s sun shimmered in her fiery red eyes.
“How… How is this possible…?”
“Guess I’m not so ordinary.”
Shrugging with a soft giggle, Charlotte glared at Behemoth visible through the window.
“So, you stay here. Oh, and don’t assign anyone to accompany me. I can barely protect myself as it is.”
“Are you really… going to be alright?”
“Yeah. If I die, I’d rather die alone. It’s easier on my mind that way.”
“Sigh… Your Highness, please don’t speak of dying so lightly…”
With a genuinely worried expression, Juur let out a small sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose.
“If I end up crippled, I’d rather be the only one crippled.”
“…I hope we meet again with all limbs intact.”
“That’s the plan. I’ve got quite a few cuties waiting for me back in the capital.”
With a faint smirk toward Juur, Charlotte turned her back and exaggerated her steps to hide her violently trembling body.
“Oh, and one more thing.”
Just before stepping out completely, Charlotte pulled a glass vial filled with elixir from inside her clothing and shook it toward Juur.
“This place might be relatively safe, but don’t die. If you think you’re about to die, come find me before you do. Let me cop a feel of your ass.”
Likewise, Juur pulled an elixir from his chest and carefully shook it in her direction.
“…I’ll consider it.”
“Heh, do that.”
Clink— The Empire’s final flame seeped into Charlotte’s armor, redder than blood.

The moment Behemoth appeared, the flow of magic became chaotic. The detection spells Delia had woven like a spider’s web began to tear, and the protective barrier constantly wrapped around her body weakened. Even Delia’s specialty, [Blink], became unusable.
“No… no, no, no.”
Overwhelmed by increasing anxiety, Delia kicked off her heels and ran toward Heinzel.
Telepathic transmission was blocked. There was no way to communicate with Juur about the battle situation.
The magic flow was disrupted. She couldn’t use detection spells to assess the battlefield.
Moreover, no one had witnessed Leviathan hiding underground. No support would be coming.
It wasn’t time to call for help. It wasn’t time to hope for anyone’s aid.
Eventually, if the battle escalated, the noise would reveal their location… But the sounds of battle from Heinzel’s position were growing fainter.
These facts urged Delia forward.
One step, then another. With each step, sharp objects pierced the once-smooth soles of her feet. A trail of sticky blood followed.
But Delia’s legs didn’t stop.
The pain beneath her feet paled compared to the agony of feeling Heinzel’s magic signature gradually fading.
She could not stop.
Splash—Splash—
Thorns pierced her. Glass shards sliced her. Rusty nails skewered her. She stepped on corpses of Liberation Army comrades. She tore through beast entrails. She slipped on guts while brain matter splattered around.
She stumbled, rolled, fell.
What began as bloody footprints soon became a crimson carpet trailing behind her.
Just as her sense of pain began to dull—
A pitch-black swarm of beasts came into view. She heard mocking laughter directed at the lone human they surrounded. She felt contemptuous emotions.
The stench of blood was overwhelming.
“You sons of bitches…”
Zap—Crackle—
As her emotions intensified, sharp electricity erupted around Delia’s body.
Not the twisted and scattered magic caused by Behemoth. This was power born from within her. Power drawn from her very life force, irrecoverable once used.
True Energy more brilliant than any light, now raging uncontrollably.
“Haah…”
Taking a deep breath, she embraced the electrifying sense of release. A torrent of True Energy beginning at her fingertips enveloped her entire body.
Her arm, now weightless, moved instinctively. A wand forged of lightning materialized in her grasp.
In that moment, Delia’s sudden spike in power made the atmosphere tremble. Cosmic forces gathered at her fingertips.
The beasts turned their gaze behind them. Leviathan, watching leisurely from underground, turned its head.
They all looked toward where Delia had been standing. But she was no longer there.
The beast at the edge of the horde, which had been mocking Heinzel, tilted its head.
[KAAAK?]
At that instant—
Thud—
Its head split in half as it collapsed.
Then the beast that had been throwing stones. The one screeching. The one smirking. All their heads were cleaved open.
There was no sound. No warning. All that could be felt was the sticky killing intent preceding the cleaving of their skulls.
Even beasts with superior detection abilities couldn’t match Delia’s speed. They couldn’t avoid her attacks.
The head of an isolated beast burst. Clusters of beasts lost their heads simultaneously. A beast dragging itself with torn legs had its skull pierced. Another missing arms screamed as its jaw was ripped away.
With each step she took, a dozen beasts fell. With each swing, dozens exploded and died.
With every breath, every thought, every shift of her gaze, every flash of light— The silent storm of True Energy obeyed Delia’s will. It obliterated her enemies thoroughly.
And so, a path opened toward the center of the horde. A path paved with headless corpses.
Crunch—Crack—
Footprints marked the bodies. Red footprints forming a carpet.
The crimson carpet, trailing something formless, finally stopped at the center of the beasts.
“…Heinzel.”
Not a trembling voice. Not a voice wet with emotion. A voice steeped in deep fury.
Hearing Delia’s voice, Heinzel raised his head.
“Delia… is it…”
Clang—
The handle of a broken metal weapon clattered to the ground. His right prosthetic arm, which had barely held on, was destroyed. Beast hides fell from his tattered left prosthetic.
His right leg was gone. His left eye had been gouged out. The muscles he once boasted of were shredded. His entire body was riddled with embedded claws.
Splash— Heinzel, who had been barely standing, fell toward a pool of blood. He collapsed.
“…Reinforcements—”
“They’ll be here soon.”
“I see… I knew… you would… succeed…”
“Yeah. So now you can rest. When you wake up, it’ll all be over.”
Gently kneeling, Delia caressed Heinzel’s cheek.
“Will that… really be… alright?”
“Yes, it will. You did well, baldy.”
Drip— Elixir poured between his ragged lips. She watched as the bleeding gradually stopped. She confirmed his breathing stabilized.
As the seemingly endless pain faded, Heinzel’s consciousness began to recede. In that fading awareness, he saw Delia’s face smiling brightly.
Seeing that face, Heinzel also managed a crooked smile and said,
“See you… later… Delia.”
