"What's wrong?" Lucian asked.

I concentrated towards the side from the base where I see a large army stationed. They all were Religias soldiers and seemed ready to start their attack on the base.

But there were problems, when did these guys come? They weren't here when I checked before and I didn't see Calvin and his goons starting their arrangement either.

"There's already an army there." I point to the place but they couldn't see it clearly.

Lucian brings out a spyglass and looked through it, "It's true, there's actually an army there."

"Of course it is dumbass, I just said it."

"I know, but I still…"

I look at him, "Still what? Are you saying you doubted me?"

"Well… I…"

The others looked at us. They didn't know what to say. They clearly couldn't' support Lucian as that would turn me their enemy and they didn't know how to stop us without turning on them.

"Forget it, I don't have time for this." I shrug away and look back at the army, "Calvin couldn't be there so fast, he already said he would start at noon so what gives?"

The Navigator brought out his own spyglass, "It's another army, I see the one leading it, it's not Captain Calvin."

"Is that so?" I look at what he saw and see someone else too. The face of the guy was familiar but I couldn't place the name on him.

"It's Captain Vein!" One of the soldiers said looking through the Guide's spyglass. "He's leading his company to attack the base."

Then suddenly the ground started shaking around us and we felt tremors going all around.

"What's happening? Did someone already start the attack?" One of the soldiers asks.

"Vein already did." Lucian said and looked up at the sky.

I look up like him and see a large silver-gray ball floating in the sky. Looking carefully, I see marked and broken surface on it before realizing it was Iron.

"He's using the Iron in the ground to make a meteor shot!" I say as everyone else started to pale.

"Hey, guys…" A soldier pointed to the ball, "Is it just me or is that ball closer than before?"

"It's falling." Lucian's frown overflowed, "We'll also get caught in the attack."

"Shit, we need to run!" A soldier said and they all started running.

As they ran away quite a distance, the navigator looked back and asked, "Where's Sir Tax?"

Lucian looked back and didn't see him either, "Is he still back there?"

"Yes!" One of the soldiers pointed to their previous location, "He hasn't moved from there."

The Guide ran towards Henry but was stopped by Lucian, "Don't go, the ball's about to hit."

"But we need to get him, he's our top priority." The guide said but nobody supported his words. He saw all of them paling yet staying quiet.

"Are we going to leave him by?"

"There's nothing we could do, he's too clo-"

"BOOM!"

A large sound appeared and with it, an earthquake that shook them all. They grabbed on to the trees and anything that would stabilize them.

The ground shook before it started cracking and many parts of it fell apart.

Dust and leaves filled their vision as they coughed and tried to see clearly. After a while, they see that many trees had fallen down while some parts of the ground, close to the event had broken apart.

All of them tried to stabilize themselves before looking at Henry's location, searching for a corpse.

!!

Yet, shock filled them as they see him standing there unscathed. There was not an etch of fear or relief on his face except the dust and a focused look.

"Sir!" All of them except Lucian shouted and went to him, "Are you alright?"

"Yeah…" Henry looked back, "What happened to you guys? Where did you went?"

"Well we… we went to find a safe location." Lucian answered, "Why were you standing here? Why didn't you come with us?"

"I wanted to see the aftermath."

"The aftermath at the cost of your life?" Lucian frowned, "What else would it be beside the destruction of those bandits, was it really worth it?"

"You tell me." I say and nod ahead.

Lucian looked and with him, the others also felt shocked.

Because the base didn't get destroyed.

Instead, there was a huge wooden dome around the base. Over the dome, a large crack with the Iron ball stuck on it. The ball was very close to breaking the dome but unfortunately it was stopped by a bit.

"They actually stopped it?" Lucian said in shock, "If I'm not wrong then that should be Captain Vein's signature attack and they stopped it?! How… who is responsible for that?"

"Someone strong." I say while my face turned to a grin and I lick my lips, "This trip isn't a waste."

"Hm" Lucian looks at Henry and frowns further, "Don't tell me you want to go there?"

"Why not? I should get a good exercise out of it." I stand up and go ahead.

"Stop!"

Yet Lucian stood before me with hands wide, "I can't let you do that."

"And why should I listen?"

"Because, I'm your babysitter remember. It's my duty to stop you from doing stupid things." Lucian said and I couldn't help but laugh.

"Really? You're saying that. You stopped that guy from saving me just a while ago and now you're trying to act as my protector, ridiculous."

"Th- That may be, but it was a different situation." Lucian said and pulled out his sword, "I won't let you go ahead."

"Not like you can stop me." I say and shrugged him aside.

"If you go ahead, I'll complain to the Commander." That stopped me.

"We both know that the reason Lord Seman is transferring you to Captain Klein's… it's because of your recklessness." Lucian said as it irked me to hear the truth, "He doesn't want anything happening to you."

"And hearing this would disappoint him even further."

I slowly turn to him, "You sure you want to do this?"

Lucian's grip on his sword tightened, "Even if my life depends on it."

My face that seemed to explode into rage… calmed down strangely and smiled, confusing everyone, "Well, I can't get mad at you for playing dirty."

I go back and while saying, "It's the only way you can hope to win."

Lucian grip tightened and he gritted his teeth but didn't speak anything in return.

'Well, look at that, the dog's finally understanding his place.'

"This place will do it." I stretch my arms.

"What are you doing now?"

"I'm going to attack them."

"What?" Lucian was jumbled, "Didn't you just say you wouldn't do that."

"No, I said I wouldn't go there." I correct him, "I didn't say anything about not attacking them. Besides, it seems Vein's army is almost upon them."

They look to the side and see Vein leading the charge, his army in tow.

"I'm sure he'll be glad to get a push from me." I point my arm towards the base and Lucian's eyes widened.

"You're going to do that from here? Will that even work?"

"Of course it would, it's me we're talking about. Have I ever failed on hitting someone?"

Lucian frowned slightly, 'Why does it feel like he said that on purpose?'

I grin and bring my hand up and slam it down, "Pasty."
