Chapter 289: 5.05.4 Watch the show.
"Your Excellency Rose, I would come to you, if not for taking care of my men who just went through a somewhat harsh trial that I had put him into. He is currently unstable and requires my active attention in case he tries something weird."
"Even Daemons of the old won’t try to employ something like that under them. Exemplary move Mister Helper, I wonder how you did it and why you are doing it. This is a conversation that needs to happen over a cup of tea."
"Your Excellency, I am a mere wraith, how could I dare even think of having tea with you." Of course, it was not possible for me to have a drink anyway. I can’t interact with the real world, that is my one weakness.
But Blue Rose, the spiritual god of Blue Lotus Cult didn’t seem to consider it an issue. She just had her mind on one thing alone. And that was to make things troublesome for me.
She should be angry over the little trouble I left in her rebirth. I scammed them, the cult that is. Fooling them into letting a trace of a powerful god be left inside Blue Rose, making her affected and forcing her to act subservient toward that being.
However, it’s not like this small trace posed any threat to her, it only had the potential of turning into a problem in the future if the originator of the trace wills it.
So she must hold a grudge toward me, she should wish to end me the moment she understands the essence of my existence. It’s probably why she called me there, closer to her means closer to her finding out what I am. And I can’t let that happen.
"A wraith? Please don’t Jest. We both know how big of a lie that is."
"..."
"You are smart and know how to make a fool of others, I will give you that. But don’t think I don’t know the essence of your existence. Your kind was not that rare in the past."
"I wonder what you want of me? I am a mere messenger of The Great Lord’s Emotion, nothing more."
"More lies little one, we both know the relationship between you and him is more cooperative."
"Guess Your Excellency was not touring this port city for nothing... Was it the professor who spoke about it?"
"In a way, yes, it was an aspect of him."
Defeated, I knew it the moment she mentioned how she learned of my little secrets.
The professor was a blabbermouth it seems, can’t even keep his mind clean, but I should complain about it to the Horned God Emotion, his lax management over his underlings is the reason for this issue.
A simple mental binding built upon his will should have been enough, but the Horned god didn’t even bother with that, leaving Professor as he was.
The saying is true, an enemy is better than a friend that pits you at every turn.
"You leave me no choice, my precious employee needs me here."
"Then bring him here, I also wish to see with my own eyes what kind of other foolishness you partake in."
I relented to her request at this point. Of course, I was not going to take Baldar with me, for he was at a sensitive moment of his life and required the direction of his books, then an empty mind that might start to wonder more about his newly acquired knowledge and then get swayed by them.

It was a troublesome matter, visiting a potential enemy that could end me in an instant, and this time, I was not talking about the false clones I had created.
I wished to curse the god that gave his divine protection to Yethel, his arrogance and laziness is going to cost me my life.
And let’s not forget that all he needs to end all of this danger is play his cards straight, devour her by the seed that had been planted in her very being, let her turn into a mindless puppet that obeys his will.
The same he tried to do to me initially.
But for some reason, he won’t let the seed bloom, he didn’t wish anything like this even after all my hard work.
Call about being selfish and self serving.
He is probably sleeping in the capital, or who knows where.
Roaming around and experiencing the new world has turned into his greatest hobby. The struggles of the transcendence world are too boring in his eyes.
I am envious of him, with such power, I would be able to do so much. But there he is, wasting away his time while living a lavish life like a mortal.
With a hint of thought and a pinch of my insect mandibles, Kanha suddenly woke up from pain, while the right side of his ear bled from my bite."Kanha, clear your mind. Her honey-like voice is poisonous in nature, it hasn’t taken hold yet, but it won’t be too long."
"Y.. Yes M... aster. I will go to the Mystic for a checkup." As I had used Kahna as my medium, he had suffered under her breath and lost consciousness, but his mind and body was still influenced by the corruption she carried.
A corruption that would infect him with the same madness of searching for immortality, like the other zealots from Blue Lotus Cult. Of course, its not like there was no cure to it, no there were too many to mention. But all that is the common theme of requiring time and money.
Time as in how fast you can deal with the problem before it takes root.
But, I still needed Kahna for something.
"Before you go, stamp my mark on a body, any body should do, but it should be presentable enough in front of a God."
"... Yes Master."
"And nothing fresh. Go find an already dead one, from the fights I recall before, there should be a lot of them out there." Knowing Kanha, he might just kill somebody to achieve my request. Which I didn’t want.
If I was in some other country, this wouldn’t have been much of an issue, but this was my homeland and I can’t harm its citizens, no matter what.

Remira tracked the smell of Crow’s friends, it was not that hard to begin with as they both held a distinct odor to them. Which in turn made her journey easier.
When she did arrive at the location, there were lines of small houses attached to the school not too far into the distance, with lights on in some but there was no sound here.
No, there was no sound anywhere at all, even the sounds of night insects or water dripping from the roof. It was total silence, as if the whole world had entered its end.
And before she can find the source of this oddity, Remira suddenly finds herself standing among an empty field with a small fishing village in the far off distance.
"??" With such a change in environment, Remira took out her sword and went on the guard, aiming her sword in the air and all around her, striking wildly before coming to a pause and staying still.
An illusion, this was an illusion and if she were to attack mindlessly in a civilian area, instead of hurting the caster of the illusion, she might harm the innocents hiding in their house.
’Troublesome.’
’Who is it this time?’ She wondered, before the world around her changed in front of her eyes.
The time seemed to accelerate in front of her eyes. New houses were built around the village as the families grew in size. The village suffered from raids and things much worse that Remira can’t even fathom. All of them are obscured by something a veil which Remira can’t pierce through.
And then as if things can’t turn even bizarre. Suddenly a monument appeared alongside the village one day, as if born out of nothing, confusing the villagers at first. Before they started to worship it.
And it was not just any monument. "This place is Phuket?" She wondered, while watching the play where the villagers slowly started to worship the monument that appeared out of thin air.
The very same monument which one would see if they see east of the city, the place of the old ruins that was said to eat people.
Remira walked closer seeing this, feeling no obstacle in her way as if this was not a physical illusion, but more of a mental one.
She needed to see what was going on here, what this ruin was and why she was shown all of this.
As for who was doing this, Remira had no reason to think hard enough about. There can only be one being capable of forcing her to fall into a mental illusion and that was none other than Blue Rose that called her here.
"Do you wish for me to visit the ruins?" Remira asked to the sky, white the village grew denser and bigger with time. And before long the villagers even started to give offerings to the monuments and build multiple temples around it as time went by.
An act followed by sacrifices.
Blood was stained in the steps of the village where they rejoiced over the death of the innocent, thinking that their actions has appeased the gods and their harvest will be abundant in the coming months.
An action that was repeated year after year until a century later, something absurd happened again, the wall of the monument moved on its own, exposing an altar inside it.
An altar holding a single oval stone above it.
