Chapter 408: He bet his whole existence...

Alice got home and found the box in her room and a note from Diane. ’We’re going to the beach, do you need to suit up, obviously, so you can knock ’em all dead, hehe.’

It was clear she was up to no good, and when Alice opened the box, she found a red bikini.

It was a rather exposing choice for a bikini, but it wasn’t like Alice cared about that sort of thing. She just tilted her head aside a bit and then turned her head to Leo.

"Hey, Leo, what can I wear with this?"

Leo looked at the little piece and closed his eyes to shake his head.

"Why wear it if you will only end up covering up?" He asked and opened his eyes. "I thought you were the type who wouldn’t care even if she walked around naked."

"Yeah, but... It’s not myself I’m thinking of this time." She said and went to her wardrobe. "Damian will certainly be there. I don’t want him to foster feelings for me."

*He already does.* Leo thought, forgetting his mind was still linked with hers, and she turned, her mouth wide in shock.

"What?!"

"Oh," Leo simply exclaimed, darting his eyes away as he realized Alice had heard his thought.

Alice grabbed his shoulders and shook him frantically.

"Are you serious?" She asked, and he pressed his hand on his head, putting in place his spinning eyes.

"Do I ever lie?" He asked her, and she bit her thumb.

"This won’t do." She turned towards her wardrobe and began scattering things, tossing them out as she made to look for something.

She didn’t know what she was looking for, but she felt she would know if she found it. That is, if she had it to begin with.

Her clothes were bought by Miss Stella, so maybe it was there.

Leo watched her as she scattered her wardrobe and began to pick up the clothes from the floor.

He put off the mind link and thought,

’I don’t think your clothes have anything to do with this.’ Alice’s understanding of men was quite rigid. She needed to change that.

She probably felt that he would like her more if he saw her half-naked. But pure feelings have nothing to do with intimacy and sexual interactions.

She needed to understand that, but how?

From love steamed the desire for intimacy. So, he didn’t know how she was going to do it, but she would definitely not succeed unless that person suddenly fell in love with someone else.

"I found it!" Alice announced as she raised a scarf and shawl above her head. "I think this should help."

Leo tilted his head and then sighed. She really needed to use her brain more often.

Did she think adding a little more fabric would cover up her body and make her less desirable?

He bet his whole existence that Alice would end up kissing at least one guy before they got back from the beach.

And he so happens to recall that there was one who was yet to receive his ’reward’.

He wasn’t invited to the beach with them, but he was someone who didn’t need an invitation to be where Alice was.

Once he saw her, he would definitely want to get his reward.

"Alright, that’s enough," Leo said and snatched the fabrics from her. "You’ve had dinner, right? You should take a bath and go to sleep. You’ve had a really long day, and you need to rest."

"Awn, so you care about me ’that’ much." She said, snickering to his face, but he ended up asking himself why he even bothered with her.

That bored expression on his face got Alice on his back, her hands on his shoulders, and her head peering at him from the side.

"Let me look at that concerned expression. Come on." She said, but he threw his face aside.

She was being bothersome.

"Cut it out." He said.

"Why? Are you getting flustered?" She grinned. "Am I making you flustered? I haven’t even begun to take off my clothes yet."

"And why would I get flustered?" He asked, bringing his gaze to finally look at her. "You know I have no such desires, whatsoever."

"I know." She said and turned around, leaning her back on his. "And that’s why it’s so fun to tease you. You don’t give me the reaction I expect, but you still act all shy."

"When did I--?" She did not give him the chance to refute her words and rushed to the bathroom.

"Will you ba--?"

"No!" Leo strictly said, interrupting the words he already knew she would say. "Go bathe yourself."

She pouted her lips.

"You’re no fun." She slammed the door, and Leo sighed.

He placed his hand on his chest and felt his heart beat loudly. It was racing. He couldn’t understand it, though.

He was able to keep acting normal and fool her by not giving her a reaction, but if she had persisted a bit longer, then he might’ve been caught.

He was puzzled.

She was just being her usual self, so his heart didn’t have a reason to race like that. What was different?

There was nothing different.

So, had his morality started to reduce or what?

’That girl has no shame,’ he thought. ’She feels so comfortable when a man bathes her.’

He didn’t know if she would feel comfortable if someone else bathed like that, but he didn’t need to worry too much. No one would try such a brazen thing without ulterior motives, so he was an exception.

He sighed. He should start thinking of ways to get her in check. If not. He glanced at the door leading out of her room and sighed. There was also that problem.

Everyone was a mess.

He was referring to Mark, who stood in front of her door, planning to knock, but then he heard their voices. He heard what they were saying and how carefree they talked about such things.

His hand trembled. He was starting to understand why Alice relied on Leo more. If he were in Leo’s shoes, would he be able to stay calm when faced with the decision to bathe Alice?

He was just a filthy-minded adult who could only wish to have her in his grasp when he was so weak.

He had no right to covet her, and yet he did.

He tapped his head on the door and sighed.

’I have a long way to go.’
