Chapter 97: Chapter 96 - Going to Meet Someone Special
It had been another hellish night that Caliste would remember for a very long time. The training he had undergone in the past hour or so had completely drained him of the last strands of energy remaining within him, and the worst part about it all was that he had to start again tomorrow, over and over again.
It was actually hell on Earth. There was no doubt about it.
Caliste finally returned to his dorm, but just as he was about to open the door, looking on the verge of falling asleep while standing straight, the door opened in his place, revealing Fleur, who had been eagerly waiting for him.
"What were you doing out so late?" she asked right away with a frown. "You went to see another girl? What did you do to her? I heard screams coming from her dorm room."
Caliste wanted to tell her that he had been screaming because of how painful her training was, but he just wasn’t in the mood right now. He wanted to lie down somewhere, take a deep breath, and wander off into a peaceful night of sleep.
"L-Let’s talk later..."
Caliste didn’t even bother asking her how she knew all this. He just wanted to find his favorite pillow and sleep.
However, as he tried to walk past her, she placed herself before him, making sure that he wouldn’t be able to get through with a frown on her face.
"No. I’m not letting you go that easily. Tell me what happened."
Caliste shook his head. "Nothing happened; I just had some questions for her. That’s all. Nothing weird happened, I can tell you that much. I’m really tired. Can I go sleep?"
Fleur frowned. "I saw you walk inside her room. Then, there were dozens of screams! I know what it’s like having sex with you..." she suddenly said, her voice becoming a whisper as she realized it was already quite late.
"Tsk. I told you. I needed her help with something. Now piss off; I want to sleep."
Caliste simply wasn’t in the mood for whatever this was. He just wanted to focus on getting stronger, and having Fleur following him around was more annoying than anything.
"It’s not like we’re even dating, so I don’t know why you’re so angry. Now, step aside and let me sleep."
She clicked her tongue and finally moved out of his way as all kinds of thoughts passed through her mind. However, the one that stuck was one of sadness, as she had just been told... that she basically didn’t matter in his eyes when she was head over heels for him...
She gulped loudly, trying her best not to cry before him. But as she got into the same bed as him, she cried by herself all night while Caliste just slept, completely exhausted.
The next morning, Caliste woke up with his back completely wet for some unknown reason. However, when he turned around, he saw that Fleur had been crying; her mascara was now covering her face.
’Fuck... just what the hell happened last night?’ Caliste thought with a frown, as he didn’t quite remember everything he had said. However, while he wanted to apologize, a loud knock resounded against the door of his dorm.
-Knock!
-Knock!
-Knock!
Caliste opened the door, and it was Siglius right before him, grinning like never before.
"If it isn’t my favorite sissy! How are ya? Spent a good night sleeping, little boy?"
Caliste was immediately surprised by how loud his voice was. He had just woken up from a good night’s sleep, and being confronted by him right away was not exactly what he had been expecting.
"Uh... yeah? Why are you here at this time of day?" Caliste asked as he turned around and saw that it was only 10 in the morning. There shouldn’t be any reason for him to be here at his door.
"Well, I thought we should do some special training today. How about coming with me? I want you to meet someone I know!"
Caliste raised an eyebrow, as he couldn’t even begin to imagine what kind of friend this Barbarian had. He must be at the very least just as crazy as him.
"Can you give me a few minutes?" Caliste asked, still dressed the same way as yesterday, but before he could even try to answer, Siglius pulled him by the arm outside of the dorm and gave him a nice slap on the back.
"You’re fine just like that! Don’t worry; he doesn’t care about appearances. You will do just fine."
Caliste continued to be doubtful about the person he would meet. However, he had a good feeling that it wouldn’t be useless at all, since Albert wasn’t the type of person to waste anyone’s time.
"How did you handle the potion yesterday?"
"I took around 20 hours to recover... a little better than before."
Siglius grinned widely as he began laughing. "That’s good progress. You’ll be good within a month. Have you noticed any changes to your body or not yet?"
"Changes? What do you mean?"
He laughed like a madman, as if everyone walking within the halls had their heads turned in their direction, frowning, wondering what the hell was happening between those two.
"Well, are you starting to feel like you’re not so much of a sissy?! Is your body growing in size?" the man said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
However, Caliste just shook his head, as he had not felt like anything was different as of yet. The only thing he knew was that his whole body was hurting more than ever. He didn’t know if that was a good thing or a bad one, but he hoped for the second option.
Anyway, they were now leaving the Demonic Academy as they were on their way to a strange city, a city that Siglius called his hometown.
Caliste was actually quite interested in where the last member of the Siglius had grown up. Actually, he was also wondering if Albert was the last Siglius. If there were more of them, then there was a chance that their legacy was still alive and that they would still manage to survive.
The Demon King definitely knew about the survival of the race, which was why Caliste was so confused about why he didn’t do anything about it. It was genuinely quite strange coming from them.
It took around one hour to reach the spot, and on the way there, let’s just say the conversations the two of them had were awkward without a doubt.
Caliste just wanted to forget about them because of how weird Albert was. Nevertheless, they had finally arrived at his hometown, if it could even be called a town because of how small it was. There was nothing going for it from the looks of it. It was more of a small village than anything else.
There were a few houses set around the whole village, but most of them looked on the verge of falling down.
It looked like there were barely anyone living in this place.
Nevertheless, looking at the smile on Albert’s face, it seemed that he was very happy to have come back to this place.
"Follow me! I’ll introduce you to my dad!"
Caliste raised an eyebrow as he could already imagine the type of man he would be. There was even a chance that he would be even crazier than his son.
They walked toward the house, which was centered in the middle of the village, and walked in without even knocking. However, there wasn’t anyone inside.
"He’s probably training outside..."
Caliste had a feeling now that his father was even worse than him.
He followed Albert, and right as they reached the small training ground that acted as their private grounds, a man with long white hair stood in the middle of it, swinging an axe against large trunks of wood, destroying them in one swift motion.
His muscles were unlike anything Caliste had ever seen in his life. It was actually on another level than what he had seen before. They were even bigger than Albert’s.
"Son! You’re finally here!" the man said as he finally raised his head. "Is that the little sissy you’re now taking care of?!"
Caliste shook his head, as he had a strong feeling that his training would become even worse than what he had expected.
"Yep, he actually survived after drinking that potion of yours. He has some talent, without a doubt."
Caliste’s eyes widened. ’Survive?! I could have died from it?!’
Panic overtook him for a quick moment. But he quickly calmed down once more as he felt Albert’s father walking in his direction, and instantly, Caliste understood that the Barbarians weren’t extinct. They still very much existed.
His father gave a "light" slap onto Caliste’s back and it was clear from the strength behind it that they were related.
