The Fallen Hero Reincarnates as the Demon King's Son
Chapter 63 - 61 - Meeting Luther

Chapter 63: Chapter 61 - Meeting Luther

Caliste hugged Fleur back. However, he did not pay attention to her at all; instead, his eyes were solely focused on the man at the end of the room, sitting on his throne.

The King of the Elves, the real one, Luther Champlin.

His old friend.

One of the people who had betrayed him against all odds.

One thing was sure: he would make that bastard suffer as much as possible. He couldn’t kill him just yet, but killing him was not something Caliste wanted to do. He wanted to make his life hell. He wanted to torture that son of a bitch until he begged to be killed.

Fleur noticed how tense Caliste’s body was as she let go of him and looked him up and down.

"Are you okay?"

Caliste didn’t reply, his gaze still focused on Luther, who had a little smirk on his face as he felt Caliste’s gaze land on him.

"Mhm... so you’re the one who conquered the heart of my granddaughter?" Luther muttered as he shook his head slightly.

’And the one of your daughter...’ Caliste thought to himself as he barely nodded.

"Bow in front of the king!" one of the guards immediately said.

However, there was no way in hell that Caliste would ever bow in front of that fraud. ’Hero, my ass.’

He just looked over at the guard who said that as if daring him to come closer and force him to his knees.

"It’s fine. He’s the son of the Demon King; he shouldn’t bow in front of anyone."

Luther muttered those words as he couldn’t help but remember the conversation he had with the Demon King about him. The Demon King had been right: this kid had true beliefs that he would never abandon. He would never give up no matter what was thrown at him.

Ever since he had entered, Luther had been trying to pressure the boy using his mana. Luther was almost sure that Caliste had noticed by now; however, he did not say a word. He simply stood straight, not showing the slightest sign of faltering.

’He’s so weak. That’s even less mana than what the Demon King put me through when I was barely ten.’ Caliste shook his head as he slowly turned his gaze away from Luther and landed it on his wife.

She was beautiful. She was a beautiful elf who looked absolutely perfect. She didn’t even look old at all, since elves could live for thousands of years without the slightest problem. They would never age, and no one could quite tell their age.

To Caliste’s eyes, she looked as young as twenty years old, maybe even barely eighteen.

’So, you’re the one who I’ll have to steal away from him...’ Caliste thought with a grin.

He thought that the task would be a little harder. However, he could tell by her demeanor that if he had some one-on-one time with her, then she would fold within minutes. She would be his as long as Caliste could spend a few minutes alone with her inside her room.

The only problem with that was the fact that there were always guards in front of her room. And now that Luther was back, she would never be left alone.

Fleur looked at her grandfather and Caliste with a frown on her face. After all, there was a clear tension between the two, even as they kept their mouths shut.

[You have received a quest - Humiliate Luther Champlin]

[Type: Main Quest]

[Description: Humiliate Luther Champlin until he loses the will to live.]

[Progression: 0%]

[Rewards: ???]

It seemed that the heavens had agreed with him to utterly humiliate that fraud in front of everyone. However, Caliste knew that it would not be possible to do such a thing quickly. It would be a quest that would take a long time to complete, unlike the rest he had received.

Maybe that’s why it was called a ’Main Quest.’ Caliste wasn’t sure; he had never received a quest like that in this new life of his.

"We should go back to the academy as fast as possible. We already missed a full day of class!"

Caliste honestly started to feel like the academy might just be useless to him. He wouldn’t learn anything in it.

’I’ll go to the library when I head back, and then I’ll start looking for Liana. There’s no point in wasting time doing something else. I need to find her; she’s the one who has all the answers.’

"Mhm... alright, we should go."

Caliste turned around and gave his sister a hug, as it seemed they wouldn’t be seeing each other for quite some time after today.

"See you soon, big sis."

She hugged him back tightly, her whole body squeezing against him.

"See you soon..."

While Fleur and Caliste were on the verge of going back to the academy, the Demon King was currently seated on his throne, going over what he had seen a few hours ago.

"He did that attack..." He shook his head.

The Demon King had been looking at Caliste ever since he had seen him when he was only ten years old. However, what he had just seen today had troubled him greatly. After all, there was no way that the Demon King would ever forget about him.

"Is he his reincarnation?" the Demon King asked with a frown on his face.

The heavens had answered the call of his son.

A demon.

It made no sense. They were enemies; why would the heavens willingly help his son?

The Demon King was lost. However, he would not do anything just yet. He would keep watching what his son would do next. He was quite interested to see where this would lead.

If Caliste had actually come back from the dead as his son...

The Demon King smirked a little. It seemed that he finally wouldn’t be bored anymore.

"Let’s see just how far you’ll grow, son..."
