Chapter 61: Chapter 60 - Caliste Has Disappeared.
However, while Caliste needed to find a solution, he also knew that his time was highly limited.
For now, Yopi was not reacting to the technique; he stood still, his eyes blinded by it. But Caliste had clearly seen just how powerful this man was. He didn’t need to see to attack him; he was simply giving him time for some unknown reason.
"Attack me with everything you’ve got!" he suddenly shouted.
That’s when it became clear that Yopi was just a mad lad. He wanted to see the extent of the technique Caliste was about to unleash. He wanted to face it head-on like someone who had nothing to lose.
However, Caliste wouldn’t tell Yopi, but no one except one person had ever managed to survive after receiving this strike.
And the person who had survived was none other than the Demon King.
The energies continued to oppose each other while mixing slowly. The light in the sky was getting darker and darker by the second, confusing everyone nearby as they believed that the technique was losing its strength.
But then...
A metallic noise echoed inside Caliste’s mind.
-Ding!
[You have managed to create a new technique that the world has never seen.]
[Name: Heavenly Demonic Thrust.]
Caliste’s eyes opened at once as the energies within him finally felt like one.
He was finally ready to unleash it.
Aleia, who had been blinded, could finally open her eyes as the light being exuded was now gray.
Caliste placed the sword over his head slowly as Yopi simply opened his arms as if welcoming the attack that would be heading in his direction. He wanted to face it head-on without even holding a weapon.
Caliste doubted that his body would be able to handle such a technique; however, he did not say that out loud. He couldn’t even say it as his entire body started shaking because of the sheer amount of energy within him.
His body was not powerful enough to welcome such a technique, and it was already starting to weaken.
The longer he waited, the more time he would need to recover.
He took one deep breath and opened his eyes, locking onto his target, Yopi.
He brandished his sword as high as possible and swung it slowly.
There was no need to go fast.
As Caliste began slashing down the sword, strong gusts of wind started coming off from both sides of the blade, almost pushing Aleia away, forcing her to hold onto the ground, her nails scratching into the earth.
The tents visibly spiraled into the air, and Yopi tried his best to stay in position as he was being pushed back, his feet struggling against the dirt.
Then, silence fell as a single noise echoed within the forest: the sound of a sword slashing through the air.
-Swing!
Once Caliste ended his motion, a crater formed before him.
It started out small; however, it became larger and larger. A crater had formed within the Elven Forest, stretching for kilometers. All of that because of a single sword strike.
And Yopi... he was nowhere to be seen.
Caliste felt his legs weaken as he suddenly lost consciousness, falling onto the ground under the worried gaze of his sister, who immediately stood up and went to help him.
She grabbed him into her arms and began running as fast as possible.
No one could know that her little brother was the one who had caused such destruction. He would be in grave danger if anyone had seen it. She ran and ran until she finally reached a peaceful spot within the Elven Forest.
She sat on a random branch and laid the body of her little brother onto her lap, his head resting against her thick thighs, acting like a pillow.

Luther, who had been rushing toward the light as fast as possible, had many questions rising inside his mind.
After all, the technique definitely wasn’t the same. He had never seen the light become gray.
The person had definitely modified his technique; however, it was fundamentally the same as before.
Luther was now only seconds away from where the light had just disappeared. He couldn’t wait to see the person who had managed to do such a thing. He had so many questions that needed answers.
However, as he arrived, there was no longer anyone there. The only thing that remained was a large crater that stretched for dozens of kilometers.
Luther frowned slightly as he couldn’t imagine that the person had gotten far. His strike had barely just ended.
However, because of the large trees, it was very difficult to spot anyone nearby.
Luther landed on the ground and immediately tried to look around him; however, there was no one. Not even the shadow of someone.
Whoever it was that just came here... he was someone powerful.
Luther didn’t know of many people whose bodies could handle Caliste’s technique. And for it to cause such damage, he must have channeled a lot of energy from the heavens.
"Father?" Alder, who had finally arrived, couldn’t help but widen his eyes at the presence of his father. "Were you the one who caused this strong light to fall from the sky?"
Luther shook his head. "No, I just came back from my important meeting when I saw this. I wanted to question the person who had done such a thing."
"Were you close when this happened?" Alder asked, thinking that maybe his son would have an idea about where they could have gone.
"No, I was at the Castle."
Luther gritted his teeth while Alder found something quite strange... no matter where he looked, he could not see Caliste anywhere on the battlefield.
’Did he flee when that mysterious person arrived?’
That was the only logical conclusion that he could make.
’He must not be too far. He’ll probably come back to the Castle once he deems everything is safe,’ Alder thought, not caring too much about his disappearance.
Hell, he would be more than happy if Caliste had died in battle.
