Chapter 1425 - Chapter 1425 Chapter 1523 Knocking on Cangyunzi
Chapter 1425: Chapter 1523: Knocking on Cangyunzi Chapter 1425: Chapter 1523: Knocking on Cangyunzi “Since you’re here, why not have a chat? What’s the rush to leave?” Fang Lin said with a smile.
Cangyunzi turned around, his expression the epitome of embarrassment.
“Junior, please don’t make fun of this old man,” Cangyunzi said with a bitter smile.
Fang Lin laughed, “You are a Great Longevity One, after all. Why are you so afraid of me? Although I’ve killed quite a few people, I have not yet killed any Great Longevity Ones, so you don’t need to be so scared.”
In his heart, Cangyunzi muttered to himself, you haven’t killed a Great Longevity One, but Great Longevity Ones can’t do anything to you either.
However, at this moment, Cangyunzi also felt a bit more settled, and he secretly pondered whether that mysterious and powerful being was still following Fang Lin.
If not, then why on earth was he still so afraid of him?
With this in mind, Cangyunzi made up his mind to test the waters.
“Junior, what would you like to talk about?” Cangyunzi spoke calmly and unhurriedly.
Fang Lin looked at him and asked, “Did you come here under orders from the Master of Chongyun Temple to deal with me?”
Cangyunzi nodded his head.
“Then why, upon seeing me, aren’t you taking action? Why the hurry to leave?” Fang Lin said.
Cangyunzi’s eyes shifted, “To be frank, I’m well aware that I am no match for you, junior, and therefore I would prefer to avoid any conflict with you.”
“Aren’t you Cangyunzi supposed to be quite a figure within your Taoist Sect? You’re admitting defeat without a fight?” Fang Lin said, astonished.
Cangyunzi was not angered but merely smiled slightly: “Junior should not jest. Back outside Qian Country, I have seen the capabilities of that senior. Indeed, they were not someone I could contend with.”
With this statement, it touched on the Old Dried Corpse, and Fang Lin understood why this old man was so wary of him. It truly was because the Old Dried Corpse had made a show of force back then, intimidating Cangyunzi.
Thinking of this, Fang Lin felt he had a clear grasp of the situation. Since this fellow was so wary of the Old Dried Corpse, it was time to give him a good scare.
“It’s good that you know,” Fang Lin said with a cold laugh, casting a contemptuous glance at Cangyunzi.
Cangyunzi felt somewhat uneasy in his heart upon being looked at by Fang Lin in such a manner, combined with Fang Lin’s tone. What does this mean? Is that mysterious master still accompanying you, secretly protecting you?
Being somewhat suspicious and paranoid by nature, Cangyunzi felt a tingling sensation in his gut when Fang Lin chuckled coldly like that. He looked around, knowing full well that even if the mysterious and powerful being was indeed accompanying Fang Lin, he would not be able to see them, yet he still couldn’t help but look around instinctively.
“Let me ask you, within the Taoist Sect, is there a master at the Immortal realm?” Fang Lin knew Cangyunzi was feeling unsettled, so he decided to fan the flames a bit more.
Hearing Fang Lin’s question, Cangyunzi was taken aback, unsure of how to answer.
Was there an Immortal realm master within the Taoist Sect? Cangyunzi was aware of his own affairs; even if he didn’t speak of other Taoist forces, just speaking of Chongyun Temple alone, it was unlikely there was any master at the Immortal realm existing within it.
The reason for saying likely was because Cangyunzi was not completely certain whether Chongyun Temple had any hidden Immortal masters.
He knew there were a few old freaks within Chongyun Temple, having lived for countless years, their cultivation reaching unfathomable depths.
But stepping into the Immortal realm was not so simple. It was not something you could just achieve through countless years of hard work; what mattered most was opportunity.
A moment of enlightenment could forge an Immortal body and step into the Immortal realm; such occurrences did happen from time to time.
For those relying on many years of accumulation hoping to step into the Immortal realm, it was just too difficult, and more than ninety-nine percent of them would fall in the attempt.
Cangyunzi knew one or two of these old freaks from Chongyun Temple personally. One of them was his own master, and also the master of the current Master of Chongyun Temple.
However, Cangyunzi could be certain that his own master had not stepped into the Immortal realm, as his master had once been severely injured and was now in closed-door cultivation partly to heal. It was virtually impossible for him to reach the Immortal realm in this lifetime.
But for the other few old monsters, Cangyunzi was not familiar with them, and perhaps among them, someone had already entered the Immortal realm.
Besides Chongyun Temple, it was certain that there was no Immortal realm master in the Supreme Palace, as they had risen much more recently compared to Chongyun Temple and True Martial Hall. To think that an Immortal master could emerge within a mere two thousand years was simply wishful thinking.
As for True Martial Hall, Cangyunzi once heard from two Master brothers that there were very powerful beings within True Martial Hall, possibly even more formidable than a few closed-door practicing old freaks of Chongyun Temple.
But whether they were Immortal masters, the two Master brothers did not specify, and Cangyunzi had no way of knowing. After all, he couldn’t simply go to True Martial Hall and ask if they had any Immortal masters.
Apart from the three major powers, the numerous large and small chaotic forces within the Taoist Sect were even less worth mentioning. It was doubtful they had Long-lived Ones; Cangyunzi would never believe there were any Immortal masters among them.
But speaking of that, does the Taoist Sect truly have an Immortal master?
Cangyunzi furrowed his brows and said, “There are certainly Immortal masters within our Taoist Sect. Junior, I wonder why you ask?”
Just kidding, even if there weren’t, Cangyunzi couldn’t directly say there weren’t. Feigning strength was something you just had to do sometimes.
Besides, whether the Taoist Sect had Immortal masters was still uncertain for Cangyunzi; there might be some, there might not be any.
Upon hearing this, Fang Lin’s eyes lit up: “Since there are Immortal masters, then my trip here seems to be worthwhile.”
At these words, Cangyunzi’s heart lurched once again.
What is this young man talking about? His trip here seems to be worthwhile? What did he come here for? Could it be that this young man intends to challenge the Immortal masters of my Taoist Sect?
Isn’t that a bit too audacious?
However, upon further thought, if that mysterious and powerful being were indeed accompanying Fang Lin, then perhaps he really did have the audacity to confront an Immortal master.
Cangyunzi was very clear that any being that even the Burning Lamp Buddha couldn’t move with all his effort definitely belonged to the realm of Immortal masters.
“Junior must be joking,” Cangyunzi forced a laugh, not knowing what else to say.
Fang Lin gave him a look and said, “That woman who was let loose from Qian Country, she must be in the lands of the three sect now, right?”
Upon hearing this, Cangyunzi’s mind buzzed, and his expression changed abruptly.
“How do you know of that senior’s existence?” Cangyunzi looked at Fang Lin with some panic. The existent of that senior from the Nine Countries who had returned was a secret among the entire three sect, known by very few, so how did this youngster from the Nine Countries know of that senior?
Fang Lin scoffed, “Surprised, aren’t you? That woman wanted me to let her loose back then, but unfortunately, I refused. I reckon she is quite annoyed with me now.”
