Chapter 1330 - Chapter 1330 Chapter 1429 Yueyue
Chapter 1330: Chapter 1429: Yueyue Chapter 1330: Chapter 1429: Yueyue “Phew, I’m almost fully healed,” Fang Lin opened his eyes, took a long breath, having spent days recovering within the Supreme Saint Hall; the injuries inflicted in the Second Array were more or less cured.
Fang Lin got to his feet and walked over to the emaciated man in front of him, whose expression was blank, and whose gaze was empty. Although he was not dead, he was essentially a walking corpse.
There wasn’t the slightest hint of sympathy in Fang Lin’s eyes. If it hadn’t been for Fang Lin’s clever ways, he probably would have already become one of this man’s lost souls.
“Kill me,” the emaciated man uttered feebly, his face twisted with a mix of madness and pleading.
Fang Lin remained cold and indifferent, “I don’t want to kill you just yet.”
The emaciated man let out a miserable laugh. If his body weren’t bound and unable to move, he would have already taken his own life to escape the suffering.
Fang Lin knew that this man wouldn’t be so easily tortured to death; after all, he was a Spirit Source Martial Artist. Even if his Spirit Source was sealed and his limbs were broken by Fang Lin’s own hand, his physical body still belonged to the Spirit Source realm. No matter how much he was tortured, unless several vital spots were damaged, it would be difficult for him to die.
What was normally an advantage for a Spirit Source Martial Artist had become the greatest torture for this emaciated man; how wonderful it would have been had his body not been so resilient, to end things earlier.
The reason Fang Lin kept this emaciated man alive was not to torture him; Fang Lin didn’t harbor such twisted interests.
Besides, what fun would there be in torturing a man? Torturing a woman would be more interesting.
The real reason for keeping him alive was to extract more information about the Hidden Kill Hall from him. This terrifying power that lingered in the shadows was always a severe concern for Fang Lin and too little was known about it, leaving him potentially at a disadvantage.
Gu Hanshan, after all, held a not-so-high position in the Hidden Kill Hall and knew limited information, but the Thirteen Men of Nether were truly skilled operatives of the organization, holding far superior status to Gu Hanshan, and surely they knew much more.
Unfortunately, this emaciated man maintained a stiff resistance; despite being tortured for so long by Fang Lin, he only gave up some relatively unimportant information.
This alone showed that the members of Nether were quite extraordinary, definitely undergoing extremely harsh torture training to develop such an ability to endure.
An ordinary person would have suffered a mental breakdown under such torture by now.
Although the emaciated man appeared half-dead, like a walking corpse, he still held onto the last thread of clarity, preventing Fang Lin from extracting any more valuable information from him.
“Do you know that the fifth-ranked person in your Nether has already died by my hand?” Fang Lin stated calmly.
“What?” The moment the emaciated man heard this, he was struck as if hit hard, stunned.
But soon after, he let out a cold laugh, “Number five is far stronger than me, how could you kill him?”
Upon hearing this, Fang Lin smiled faintly, “The ‘Number Five’ you’re speaking of, is he an old fellow in red robes? Indeed, he’s already dead.”
As soon as Fang Lin mentioned the man in red robes, the emaciated man immediately grew uneasy. Though he was reluctant to believe it, the implication was terrifying if true.
“Since he’s dead, you can’t hope for him to come to rescue you. Moreover, I imagine that given the way the Hidden Kill Hall operates, they wouldn’t bother to save an assassin like you. They wouldn’t just not save you; they might even send someone to get rid of you, to prevent any information about the Hidden Kill Hall from leaking,” Fang Lin stated, watching the emaciated man with a cold gaze.
The emaciated man was silent, his breathing faint, his face carrying a complex mixture of emotions, leaving one to wonder what he was pondering.
“The Hidden Kill Hall is ruthless with its targets, and even more so with its own people, something I’ve experienced firsthand. As someone from Nether, you probably understand this point even more clearly. Right now, in my hands, you still have a chance at life, but if you fall back into the hands of the Hidden Kill Hall, death is certain,” Fang Lin remarked.
“Heh, death would be a release for me,” the emaciated man laughed.
Fang Lin’s lips curved into a slight arc, “Do you really not fear death at all? While alive in this world, you can do so many things. You have wishes to fulfill, regrets to amend, people you want to see, places you want to go–and you can, but once a person dies, everything is lost.”
Once a person died, everything was lost!
The emaciated man’s mind buzzed, fixating only on Fang Lin’s words.
After his death, he would, of course, be free, but was he truly content with that?
The emaciated man thought he had lost the fear of life and death after becoming one of the Thirteen Men of Nether.
But now, he had to admit that he had not forgotten about life and death. As long as one is human, there is a fear of dying.
After all, there is too much beauty in the world that, once dead, can no longer be experienced, felt. Everything, everything would end.
Through the ages, how many people have sought immortality, wanting just a bit more pitiful lifespan, if only to avoid death, to avoid closing their eyes and then losing everything.
The emaciated man was no different; deep down, he had not truly forgotten about life and death. If possible, if given the chance, he too would want to live.
“You may continue to deliberate, to persist, but my patience is limited. If you are still so stubborn after ten days, then I will have no choice but to kill you, or hand you over to Hidden Kill Hall,” said Fang Lin.
Upon hearing that Fang Lin would hand him over to Hidden Kill Hall, the emaciated man panicked and quickly said, “I am willing to tell you everything about Hidden Kill Hall!”
“Good! As long as you tell me, I will let you live,” Fang Lin immediately said, as if he had been waiting a long time for the emaciated man’s words.
“I want you to swear an oath,” the emaciated man said, staring at Fang Lin through gritted teeth.
Fang Lin offered a light smile, then promptly swore the oath.
After the oath, the emaciated man took a deep breath and recounted what he knew about Hidden Kill Hall.
And Fang Lin became a listener, silently hearing everything the emaciated man recounted.
Listening as well was the Old Dried Corpse.

The three sect, Sea Saint Institute.
The Sea Saint Institute, one of the four great schools of the Confucian sect, is a place where masters are as common as clouds, with many of the sect’s Talents cultivating there.
One of the present top masters of the Confucian sect, Situ Yue, also hailed from Sea Saint Institute, which slightly elevated the school’s status among the four great schools.
Of course, this was just what the people of Sea Saint Institute believed. Each of the four great schools of the Confucian sect had its own merits, and each was formidable; it was hard to distinguish who was the strongest.
Today, an aged figure, stepping onto a black stele, arrived at the very heart of Sea Saint Institute.
Situ Yue, who was in seclusion within Sea Saint Institute, suddenly felt a pang in her heart and immediately appeared outside the institute.
“Yueyue, it’s been so long since we’ve seen each other. You’re still as young and beautiful,” chuckled the Heaven King of East Pole, looking at the grim-faced Situ Yue.
