Chapter 1287 - Chapter 1287 Chapter 1386 The Movements of Hidden Kill Hall
Chapter 1287: Chapter 1386: The Movements of Hidden Kill Hall Chapter 1287: Chapter 1386: The Movements of Hidden Kill Hall Fang Lin said, “The Ancient Lamp of the Flame God can only exert its full power when all seven lamps are gathered. I now possess four, and naturally, I want to get my hands on the remaining three.”
“That monkey won’t give them to you,” the Old Dried Corpse said.
Fang Lin nodded, “Indeed he won’t, so let’s set this matter aside for now. I’ll find a way to get them later when the opportunity arises.”
Upon returning to the Purple Mist Sect, Fang Lin informed the ugly elder and Han Luoyun that the people from the Seven Seas three sect would probably not come again, at least not any formidable figures.
After all, even a mighty figure like the Burning Lamp Buddha had suffered a huge loss here. Though the three sect had many experts, it was unlikely they would come one after another. After this incident, it was expected that the three sect wouldn’t make any major moves.
Fang Lin did not linger long in the Purple Mist Sect. After saying his goodbyes, he left for The Forest of Mist.
As early as when Fang Lin had made his breakthrough, he realized he had lost contact with the Millennium Corpse Ginseng.
He had left a mark on the Corpse Ginseng, one he could sense no matter the distance, but now this perception had vanished, and the last place he sensed it before this disconnect was outside The Forest of Mist.
Thus, Fang Lin concluded that the Millennium Corpse Ginseng must have entered The Forest of Mist.
Whether the Corpse Ginseng went in of its own accord or was forced, Fang Lin intended to find out.
Fang Lin was very familiar with the three forbidden territories of Qian Country. After all, he had entered two of them. As for The Forest of Mist, which he had never visited, the rumours in Qian Country about the forest were far too numerous for Fang Lin to be ignorant of it.
In terms of danger, Ghost Mountain Blood Lake was the most hazardous because aside from Fang Lin, a freak of nature, everyone else who entered had died without a single one emerging.
As for mystery, The Forest of Mist was unparalleled because no one could ascertain the extent of the secrets it harboured.
The Endless Dungeon, on the other hand, was something between the two, less dangerous than Ghost Mountain Blood Lake, but less mysterious than The Forest of Mist.
The Endless Dungeon was also the forbidden territory most frequented by the martial artists of Qian Country. Although many perished within, with sufficient strength and some luck, it was possible to emerge from within.
Of course, no one could enter the Endless Dungeon now as the entrance had collapsed.
It was Fang Lin’s first time approaching The Forest of Mist, situated on the northwest border of Qian Country, deserted all around with only this dense forest remaining.
It was said that originally, several villages existed outside The Forest of Mist, but for some unknown reason, the villages’ population decreased year after year, until all were empty, becoming desolate as they were now.
Descendants of those village residents had said that every night, people would inexplicably enter The Forest of Mist, dwindling in number, until the remaining villagers, frightened, relocated their families elsewhere.
Initially, many in Qian Country did not believe such stories. Could The Forest of Mist contain enchanting phantoms or spectres, capable of luring people in whilst dazed?
Later, a group of Qian Country martial artists, confident in their abilities, ventured into The Forest of Mist. In the end, only two or three survived to make it out.
However, when they emerged, two hundred years had passed in the outside world, and the three who came out showed no signs of change.
Yet five days later, the three aged rapidly, dying shortly thereafter.
From their last words, Qian Country learned about some things inside the forest.
According to them, deep within The Forest of Mist lay a different world entirely. Once one passed through the dense mist, one would reach a place completely unlike the outside, with all sorts of exotic flora and fauna, treasures, and miraculous creatures – a truly beautiful paradise.
They lingered there for a long time, only realizing that something was amiss when their companions started to vanish. They then sought to return by their original path, which proved difficult to find, and only after an unknown length of time had passed did the three of them manage to escape.
Upon their exit, they had then realized two hundred years had passed in the outside world when they had felt that only two years had gone by inside The Forest of Mist.
Therefore, the current understanding in Qian Country about The Forest of Mist was that time flowed differently within it compared to the outside world.
Why this was so remained a mystery, perhaps only to be unraveled by completely exploring The Forest of Mist.
Fang Lin frowned as he regarded The Forest of Mist. Judging by the traces here, it seemed quite a few people had recently entered the forest, which he found peculiar. Why had this place suddenly become so lively?
And another matter made Fang Lin suspicious. Zhou Meng and several Pill Alliance experts were no longer in Qian Country and had not informed Fang Lin of their whereabouts before they disappeared.
Having contacted the Pill Alliance, it appeared that Zhou Meng and his companions had not returned. Where had they gone?
In Fang Lin’s view, Zhou Meng and the others might well have entered The Forest of Mist, and it was here that he had lost his connection with the Millennium Corpse Ginseng. Whatever had transpired inside The Forest of Mist was of great concern to Fang Lin.
“Come out,” Fang Lin said, turning his head to address someone behind him.
A figure appeared out of thin air, cloaked in a black robe and wearing an iron mask, which concealed their true face and gender.
However, Fang Lin recognized this person. Seeing them appear, a slight smile emerged on his face.
“You’ve actually come here?” Fang Lin asked.
The masked individual spoke, “I’m here to tell you that the Fire King has already deployed people in secret across Qian Country, but I don’t know much about their exact locations. Additionally, the Fire King has sent someone into The Forest of Mist to look for something.”
This masked person was naturally Gu Hanshan. Although there was enmity between him and Fang Lin, they had chosen to cooperate.
Hearing this, Fang Lin was startled. The Fire King had people hidden throughout Qian Country–what was he planning? Was Hidden Kill Hall going to make a move against Qian Country?
And the fact that the Fire King had sent people into The Forest of Mist was significant, heightening Fang Lin’s vigilance.
“What is the Fire King looking for?” Fang Lin inquired.
“It seems to be a bow,” Gu Hanshan replied.
At this, Fang Lin’s eyebrows furrowed even more. A bow? That was what Hidden Kill Hall was seeking?
“I’ve told you all I know,” Gu Hanshan continued, “It’s up to you to enter The Forest of Mist or not. Qian Country has become a place of conflict and chaos is brewing. The Wind Monarch and Lord Lei are also on their way here.” After speaking, Gu Hanshan’s form disappeared, with no further words wasted on Fang Lin.
Fang Lin stroked his chin, worry evident in his eyes. Hidden Kill Hall was planning something significant? Besides the Fire King, the Wind Monarch and Lord Lei, also among the top four assassins, were coming.
