The Evil Lord's Wife Has Spirit Blood -
Chapter 165
Chapter 165: 165
After reading the signs from the soul, Michelle smiled a bit. In her mind, she formed her own story about the soul. "I don’t know how, but you somehow separated from your original body and started floating around the world, looking for a suitable body to invade," she started explaining.
"You either want to live in symbiosis with me, or you want to parasite on me. If you don’t tell me the truth, I will never find out when or why you really chose and entered my body, but I don’t need to know."
"Right now, I won’t get rid of you, and I won’t do it even if you cross me. In that case, your punishment will be much worse. I’ll make you regret ever entering my soul space, and I’ll make it so you will never be able to leave. I’ll make you suffer endlessly."
When Michelle finished speaking, she closed her purple eyes again and went to sleep. Most of what she said was a lie, but she would never let the soul find out.
With Michelle asleep, the soul no longer controlled her soul energy. It didn’t dare to do anything. So it just remained quiet next to Michelle’s soul, acting like it didn’t exist. Unless Michelle called for it, it wouldn’t show itself again. It didn’t want to be tortured.
Michelle slept for a long time and only woke up after a whole two days, yawning lazily. The first thing she did after waking up was to sense for any movement in her soul energy. When she didn’t feel anything, a small smile crept to her lips and a thought flashed through her mind.
"Ignorance kills!"
That two-word sentence expressed how Michelle got the soul under control. Because the soul didn’t research in any way what Michelle was able to do, it ate the bait she threw at it and believed that she was able to destroy it if she wanted. That awoke its self-preservation instinct and made it submit to Michelle completely.
But Michelle was aware that such submission wouldn’t last long. No matter what kind of relationship it was, if it was based on lies and deception, it would eventually fall, taking down many things along with it.
To prevent that, Michelle had to take some precaution. She had to make it so that even if the soul found out that Michelle lied to it, it wouldn’t harm her.
The easiest way would be to make the lies a reality, but it wasn’t the best way. Of course, Michelle would try to make it reality, but at the same time, she would try another way.
Her guess was that the soul was a parasitic soul, but the difference between a parasitic and symbiotic soul was very thin. And they had one big similarity. They both relied on their host.
So if Michelle found out what the soul wanted from her, she could enter a symbiotic relationship with it, where the soul would help her control her soul energy and she would give it a place to stay and satisfy its need. The reason the soul entered her body must have been because Michelle could satisfy the need. Or needs.
"Hey, soul!" Michelle got off the bed and glanced at her spatial ring, taking out her shifting weapon.
It was quite some time since she had last held it, so she decided to try her control with it again. She wanted to make sure her control over it wouldn’t get too rusty. If that happened, she could get in quite some danger in case she needed to use it.
"I said I don’t need to know when or why you entered my body, but if you tell me, we could make a deal!" she spoke as she stared at the spirit stone on the weapon.
If the spirit stone was ordinary, to activate it and thus make the weapon shift shapes, she would need to insert her spirit energy. But that wasn’t the case.
The spirit stone was specially refined so people without spirit energy could use it. So Michelle could still use the shifting weapon as she liked.
Spirit stones like that were only made in the Land of Exile because only there was it normal for people to not have spirit energy.
As if the soul was considering Michelle’s words, nothing happened with Michelle’s soul energy for a while. Only after about a minute did the soul start creating strings of signs again which formed into two sentences: "I need to find the rest of my soul. It should be bound to a monster."
Reading that, Michelle raised a brow. "So you could feel that I have high affinity with monsters and beasts?" Michelle asked as she fiddled with the shifting weapon in her hand. It was in the shape of a small knife.
"At first, I thought you were a monster which took on a human form," the soul answered using the sign language.
That sentence made Michelle raise a brow. As far as she knew, monsters couldn’t take on human form in the lower realm. She didn’t know about the middle and upper realm, but from Rivenaar’s memories, she could tell it was rare even in the heavenly realm and barely anyone knew about it. That meant that the soul was originally probably a high-ranked being from the heavenly realm.
There was another thing Michelle thought about momentarily. The reason why the soul mistook her for a monster. It was because she possessed Spirit Soul Blood which gave her extremely high affinity with monsters and beasrs, so high that even the barrier of the Heavenly Law mistook her for a monster or beast.
"So you want my help looking for the monster with the rest of your soul?" Michelle finally asked.
The soul’s response was something Michelle didn’t really expect. "No."
After that, the soul energy didn’t move for a while, making Michelle frown. "Why?" she asked, but no reaction came. So she kept asking: "Wouldn’t it be better for you if I looked for it for you?"
Finally, the soul energy formed a sentence again: "There’s no need to search for it."
The answer was vague, and Michelle didn’t quite like it. "Does it mean you know where it is? Or do you not want to get back to the rest of your soul?"
"You will meet the monster without having to search for it," the soul signed, making Michelle frown.
"Why would I meet the monster?" she asked.
"It will search for me."
Michelle thought it made some sense, but it also wasn’t something to be certain about. If the soul within her body thought the monster would look for it, how could it guarantee that the soul in the monster wouldn’t stay passive, thinking Michelle would come searching for it?
So Michelle asked about it.
And the response was something she could have expected, but she didn’t even consider it. "Since the soul in the monster is connected to me, it will sense that I’ve entered the body of someone with high affinity with monsters. That will make the monster come by itself."
Michelle finally understood what was going on and threw her shifting weapon back into her spatial ring. "What realm is the monster in?" she asked.
"The upper realm."
That made Michelle raise a brow. "Aren’t you from the heavenly realm?" she blurted out.
The soul energy stopped moving for a moment, probably because the soul was surprised that Michelle knew. "I am, but I went to the upper realm for some business and my soul got torn into two pieces, one entering the monster’s body and my part falling down here."
"What creature were you before your soul got torn apart? A human or something else? And what happened to your body?" Michelle kept asking as she was getting more and more curious.
"My body is probably dead now, and I was one of the Forgotten Kin."
Reading that, Michelle’s eyes narrowed. "Forgotten Kin..." she mumbled as she searched through the memories she received from Rivenaar.
After a while, she found some information about the Forgotten Kin, but it was scarce. There really was a reason why they were called the Forgotten Kin.
All that was known about them was that they were humanoid beasts with wings, tails, horns, scales and such things. They were basically like beasts that could half-transform into humans. Their souls were extremely stable, giving them high immunity to manipulation skills and skills damaging the soul.
That meant that for the soul to be torn apart, someone or something extremely powerful or skilled had to be involved.
"Didn’t the Forgotten Kin go extinct?" Michelle asked.
"No. There’s just very few of us. Also, the Forgotten Kin could have descendants with other species, so as time went, the later generations looked more and more like other beasts. But the Forgotten Kin’s bloodline was always one of the highest, so some always remained."
Michelle nodded a bit when she read that. "Do Forgotten Kin usually know how to use soul energy, or are you just special?" she continued asking.
"One of my ancestors was a human, so I inherited the ability to control soul energy," the soul explained.
"I see..." Michelle understood. "That means that while you reside in my body, we can make a deal!" she said with a smile.
"What kind of deal?"
"First off, I should ask you about your name."
"It’s Serith!"
"A girl?" Michelle raised a brow.
"No. Forgotten Kin are genderless. At the time of reproduction, we can take on one gender, but otherwise we are genderless."
