Chapter 97: Prelude Of Chaos (2)
Arren glanced at the center of the square; he only had a glimpse, and he saw that the chaos was still under control. However, the real fight had already started. It seemed this was the reason the royal guards were ordered to take him away.
And yet, he also noticed that they seemed extremely cautious and in a hurry to leave. Arren became even more curious about what Spade had specifically ordered for them to act this way.
He was already itching to ask what was already happening, but he still stopped himself from doing so. It was because he didn’t want to distract them, which might even lead to danger.
Arren could only placate himself by telling himself that everything was going fine and that Spade must have triggered his overprotective mood and wanted to take him away from this place as soon as possible.
There were still a lot of people, and their cars couldn’t progress much from the square. Arren watched outside but didn’t dare to open the window of the car.
The traffic was too much at this part of the square, so Arren thought they would stay there for a few minutes. While observing the outside, he also managed to notice that there were some royal guards that waved and parted the crowd.
His brows instinctively rose at this before he shifted his attention to the man in the passenger seat. Arren seemed to underestimate the gravity of the situation if they were rushing to leave the Capital Square. And it seemed they were armed too!
Being armed with a gun wasn’t to be concerned about. But if all of them had their guns out in the open, it was something to ponder about.
"Son, do you know what’s going on?" His father whispered to him as the Duke also noticed the questionable movements of the royal guards.
Arren faced his father, shook his head, and responded honestly, "I also don’t know what’s going on, dad."
He was perplexed about this too, he was already holding himself back from asking any questions. However, he knew that there must be something wrong; otherwise, they wouldn’t act like this.
The Duke nodded and furrowed his brows before holding Arren’s hand. Arren also became worried and looked outside. What was happening there at Spade’s side? He wanted to know so badly.

Spade gazed into the distance, his expression dark, and no one dared distract him with their thoughts. At his side was Levin, with a rifle in his right hand.
"Where are they?" Spade’s deep voice which had been amplified by his tone as a ruler rang, which made the surrounding royal guards and agents instinctively straighten their posture.
Like Levin, they also have their guns in their hands. They were there to ensure the Emperor’s safety while some of the agents and guards went on a chase to the suspicious individuals.
Without specifically mentioning what it was, Levin and the others already understood.
"Most escape routes are blocked by us, but they are still chasing them," Levin responded, pausing before continuing. He was also cautious with his words, as Spade’s mood was at its worst at the moment.
Spade turned his dark and oppressive gaze to Levin, and while he was still controlling himself, he didn’t want to vent his anger to his subordinates. However, with how the events were turning out, Spade was really enraged this time.
His patience was almost at its limit; if only with his years of being an Emperor, he might have long lost control. Spade was prepared and knew what was going to happen, or rather, he trusted Arren’s words that something like this was about to happen.
However, once it really happened in front of him, Spade couldn’t help but be furious that someone really dared to make a fool of him in front of his citizens. His jaw clenched as his pheromones became overpowering, but he held it in. The matter at hand was the most important.
His gaze swept from Levin to his other subordinates before returning to Levin: "Just make sure someone is caught this time; I don’t want the same failure twice like last time." His heavy voice enveloped the men around him and almost suffocated them with its implications.
Spade stared at Levin and said, "You know what I mean?" and before the other alpha could answer, he also lifted his gaze to the others, who already had their heads bowed, and continued, "If you can’t even capture those lowest rats, don’t ever think of showing your face in front of me again."
The words were extremely harsh, and while those seemed for Levin, everyone was aware that the Emperor’s words were also directed at them. This time, the Emperor was truly... infuriated.
No one responded, but the solemn silence was enough. And Spade didn’t need any promises; he wanted results.
Spade swept his gaze at them before he turned around. His lips pursed as he loosened his cuff in a casual manner, but it was to let him breathe from the emotion he was feeling.
He was the Emperor, and it was beneath him to actually involve himself in actual action. If he, the Emperor, needed to take action himself, what did he need those subordinates for?
He clenched his teeth, playing with his palms, as it was already itching to do something. Spade’s eyes narrowed as they flashed with thoughts unknown to anyone but himself.
After a few minutes, he started walking in the direction where most of the gunfire could be heard. It was already starting, fortunately, the crowd in the Capital Square was settled, or the sound of these gunshots was enough to make them panic again. That would be a burden for their operation.
No one stopped him, but everyone was on guard. Levin already excused himself long ago and helped. The pressure on him as the chief was the greatest.
The holidays helped with their preparation to isolate most roads; otherwise, escaping individuals would definitely use the crowd to escape.
"Another was caught but poisoned himself," a report rang in their earpiece.
Spade’s muscles twitched as his face grew increasingly dark with impatience. He didn’t want to blame his subordinates, but he was extremely uneasy and wanted to finish this. His intuition was telling him to, for some unknown reason.
His eyes narrowed as he flicked his tongue on his left cheek; the irritation was getting to him. He was in a passive situation, and he didn’t like this feeling.
For someone who always wanted to be in control of everything, Spoade had become accustomed to planning and guessing the intentions of his opponent. However, the opponent this time was in the dark, and he was blindly fighting whoever it was.
He stopped in his tracks and took a deep breath. He turned to look at Ace, one of the lieutenants of the royal guards.
"Give me a gun," he commanded. Not giving him room to say anything, Spade snatched the rifle directly from his arms.
He didn’t like this feeling; he was so uneasy. Spade didn’t want to wait passively for the opponent’s actions. He would never let himself be played with by someone’s palms.
Never.
