Chapter 86: New Year’s Eve (3)
Arren sat comfortably on the couch. The room was lit up by flashing lights, and loud music filled the room. He smiled and thought it was truly perfect.
Of course, he wasn’t in some bar or club. He didn’t want his plan to completely backfire against him by provoking Spade too much. Arren also wasn’t an idiot for jeopardizing his own health and safety more than anyone else.
Instead, he was in some kind of KTV VIP room; in fact, he rented all the rooms in this establishment for twice the price. As it was also a business that wasn’t particularly booming, the owner agreed immediately. Perhaps the owner was also afraid to see all his bodyguards and confirmed his status by these alone.
Arren was here to mess up with Spade anyway, so the price was negligible. In fact, for someone asking for death, he was truly brave and willing to spend money.
The small TV wasn’t playing the song, as he didn’t plan to sing anything; instead, what was playing was a mini club concert from an event he attended before. The atmosphere was messy yet lively, something he had longed for before.
He watched it for a few seconds, as a mischievous smile emerged on his lips. Arren’s eyes roamed, and his eyes brightened. What a perfect scenario, he truly indeed appeared in a bar!
Of course, the perfect look couldn’t be completed without a glass of liquor. Although it was only for looks, it wouldn’t appear the same to those who didn’t know!
Arren, holding the glass in his left hand and the phone in his right, started to capture a video. What he only captured in the shot was the zoomed-in part of the TV, and by angling his hand right, it truly seemed like he was part of it and even the atmosphere on the screen where he captured it perfectly.
To make the video more perfect and believable, he thought of putting the slight part of his face where his blue hair is visible for a slight second.
All in all, the video only took six seconds in total. Arren didn’t want to be more than that, otherwise, Spade might see something wrong, he was aware of how keen the alpha’s eyes are when it comes to things like these.
After shooting his masterpiece, whose production value was higher than the video itself, Arren admired it for a bit before laughing out loud. Fortunately, he was the only one inside, and the bodyguards were all outside guarding the vicinity of the room.
"Let’s see how you ignored me this time, again." Arren, feeling proud of his creation, decided to start with step two of his mission, which was to send it ’accidentally’ to Spade.
Of course, Arren couldn’t hope that the alpha would be fooled by this entirely, but he knew Spade would focus more on the fact that he was in the bar.
So, the most possible thing that the alpha would do was to contact his father, and as he reasoned out, Ramon, the father of that unfortunate beta, might be questioned as well. Then, of course, he would contact the bodyguards. However, their phones were in his hands after all.
The last thing was to contact them through the earpiece to know of his whereabouts. In fact, none of them had the fault; it was Arren all along. He giggled just by thinking about it, before sighing at what an awful person he was!
Arren slumped himself into the couch and then went on with his next step, sending the video to Spade.
"Hmm, what should I say?" Arren mumbled to himself before typing as he said them out loud, "Guys, come here; the party has already started." He read them again before nodding in satisfaction.
It would seem like he was about to send it in a group chat rather than sending it to Spade. Then he hit send before watching it, waiting for the alpha’s reaction.
However, it wasn’t even a minute, and there was already a reply as he was notified on his screen! Spade was so responsive? Arren thought it would still be a few minutes as the other was busy, right? The script seemed not to be right.
The message only had a question: Where are you?
Arren thought he could even hear Spade’s serious voice in this message. He bit his lower lip, thinking if he would reply, but the screen changed as the alpha’s incoming call came.
Should he answer it or not? In his script, he had not thought that the alpha would respond so quickly to that.
Actually, the timing of Arren’s message was just right after Spade had left the place where the chip was being decrypted since he had this sense of urgency that he wanted to know its contents more than ever. However, the progress was slow.
Other than it being an old chip and the encryption method that was used being strict, it had also been attached to a gem for years, making it even harder to rashly decrypt it; otherwise, it might get damaged and be wasted instead.
Spade also knew it was impossible to rush, but this was the number one priority of the black intel at the moment, so he wanted to supervise it more closely.
However, Spade still remembered that it was New Year’s Eve and he wanted to visit Arren in the Katz Mansion, and he was already on the way when Arren’s message came.
Instantly, his expression darkened after he watched the video that was sent. For a moment, his reason left him, and all he wanted to know was where the omega was at this very moment.
He called Arren, but the other didn’t answer his call. Spade’s brow knit, and he forced himself to calm down. He only realized that something was wrong. Arren had just recovered, but he knew the omega would not go to the bar at this time, knowing everyone was worried about him.
Then why this video? He watched it again, and it appeared that he was really in the bar. Spade then read the message. Before that, Arren wished him a happy new year, which he had not yet read because he was focused on meeting with Black Intel and supervising the decryption of the chip.
Spade’s eyes flickered with some realization—was Arren messing with him because he didn’t reply to his message? He thought there was some kind of possibility.
He called the Duke next.
"His Majesty, Arren said he was meeting Ramon..." the Duke went on as they talked for a bit.
After hanging up, Spade couldn’t help but shake his head with a helpless smile on his lips. Arren truly hit the mark with his method of messing with him this time.
He called next the one managing Arren’s bodyguards and contacted them through their earpieces to ask for the omega’s whereabouts, the possibility that Arren confiscated the royal guards’ phones was high.
Spade soon got the information he wanted and chuckled at his omega’s antics. Arren’s mind always comes up with all sorts of ideas.
"Change the direction, we’ll go somewhere else," Spade told them the new location and leaned on his seat.
He stared at the scene outside before smiling darkly. Now, what should he do with Arren? Spade’s eyes flickered with amusement.
However, on the other side, in a KTV VIP room, Arren stared at his silent phone. Wait, why did he feel something was really wrong with his script?
