Chapter 180: Meeting (2)
As they knew each other before then, it didn’t take long for all of them to be comfortable and talk about anything while waiting for Spade. The three of them seemed to have the same understanding not to bring any heavy topics to ease the atmosphere, and they knew a much heavier discussion was waiting for them.
"Since when did you arrive in the capital?" asked Arren. The underlying meaning was that they had successfully evaded the eyes of the two camps?
Even Spade, Arren didn’t tell him that he met Mr.Ivo, so perhaps it was still safe. However, the same couldn’t be said for the organization’s side, which still had spies and forces hiding in the capital, further intensifying the brewing storm that was about to erupt who knew when.
One thing was for sure: it wouldn’t be long.
"We came here first," Rave answered, as usual, not adding any details other than that. But Arren could understand it, as they only arrived this day and visited him first.
So they decided to pursue their objective as soon as they arrived. Arren, who was still quite relaxed earlier, also became slightly tensed as it finally dawned on him how serious the matter was.
With that in mind, he made sure to liven up the atmosphere while waiting for Spade. It was two hours later when the alpha arrived.
The three of them were having a conversation about Hamayana Island when a slight commotion happened at the door of the mansion, and the royal guards gave way, exposing a dominant figure among everyone who could easily capture everyone’s attention.
Arren’s eyes immediately lit up upon seeing him, and he couldn’t help but exclaim. "Spade!"
On the other hand, after his shout, the two with him stiffened. But Arren barely noticed anyone and his sole focus was on Spade, whom he hadn’t seen for a few days.
Spade’s expression also softened as their eyes met. In excitement, Arren stood up and almost ran to approach the alpha. He was also welcomed by Spade with the same enthusiasm, who pulled him into a tight embrace.
Arren smiled and forgot that they were not alone in the living room; he truly missed Spade, even if it had only been a few days since they last saw each other.
Their tight embrace lasted for a few seconds before they calmed down, although neither of them had the intention to let go or withdraw from the embrace as they clung to each other.
"Spade," Arren raised his head and looked up to the alpha. He smiled and called his name once more.
Spade met his eyes and asked, "What is it?" He touched Arren’s cheek, staring at the omega’s bright expression.
Arren blinked, his smile not leaving his lips. Actually, he wanted to ask for a lot of things and even talk to Spade for longer. The alpha became so busy that they barely talked with each other for a few minutes call.
However, something was more important than that. While still wrapping his arms around Spade, and under the alpha’s gaze, he brought up the matter himself.
His head slightly turned to where the two were sitting, but at this moment both were already standing out of respect for Spade. He then shifted his gaze again to the alpha, who didn’t leave his gaze away from Arren even for a split second.
"Someone is here to talk to you," Arren mentioned it first, as he noticed how Spade cast a glance to the side and narrowed his eyes slightly before shifting them back again to him.
"Yes, I’ve been informed." His tone was soft as he was responding to Arren, but it sounded a bit different in Ivo and Rave’s ears.
The moment Spade’s intimidating gaze landed on them, both unconsciously shivered as they slightly bowed their heads, not daring to meet those amber eyes.
In fact, even Arren wasn’t that oblivious to how, even with how persistent he was, the tension was slowly rising when Spade arrived. He still felt that the alpha was somehow repulsed and not in a good mood when he saw the two.
Arren was right on that one. The moment Spade knew Ivo was waiting for him in the Katz Mansion, he was immediately pissed. While he knew it was hard for Ivo to sneak into the palace and talk to him directly, even with Rave’s help.
Arren was his inverse scale and knowing how dangerous and complicated the matter about Ivo was, Spade was uneasy for them to be together, much less talk in the omega’s presence. But since they seemed to be acquaintances, Spade forced himself to calm down.
After their embrace, the two stood in front of the father and son.
"His Majesty," the elder omega saluted with respect, still not meeting Spade’s eyes as though guilty. Perhaps he really was.
With his arms around Arren, Spade nodded his head, almost expressionless if not for his omega’s presence. He then swept his eyes between the two for a few seconds. When they were already uncomfortable, he shifted his gaze to Arren.
"I want to talk to him alone, is that okay with you?" Spade gently asked. There were only things he wanted to clarify. While he would tell Arren what he found out eventually, this was something he wanted to talk about alone with Ivo.
Another reason why he didn’t want Arren to listen was... His trauma might be triggered. Without knowing Arren’s accurate condition, Spade could only prevent it from being triggered as much as possible. What happened to Arren on that island was still a fresh wound for him.
Arren stared at Spade’s face, trying to read his thoughts. It was hard, but at that moment, the alpha’s eyes seemed to be really telling him not to listen.
That kind of desperation was rare to see in Spade. He opened his mouth to ask why, but they were stuck in his throat, and he could only nod his head.
"Of course, it’s fine." He smiled, agreeing and not asking for anything. Even if he had questions in his mind, he shelved them for the time being.
As he said, it was fine. He was fine. He would be.

In the end, Arren and Rave had to stay in the living room while Spade and Ivo talked in a room prepared by Arren for them so they could talk peacefully.
When it was just the two of them, some kind of pressure finally overwhelmed the room in an instant. Spade sat dominantly while crossing his legs, and his arm rested on the couch’s armrest.
His dark expression and cold gaze focused on Ivo, not hiding his displeasure in the slightest. He clicked his tongue and furrowed his brows.
"How did you meet Arren?" Spade started the conversation by asking this, even though he already had a clue.
