The Emperor's Omega Is An Extra -
Chapter 147: Ignore
Chapter 147: Ignore
While these thoughts were heavily influenced by his rut, to a certain extent, they also came from his deepest thoughts. Not to say that he truly wanted to imprison or control Arren, as he was not obeying him; it was more like he wanted to let the omega know that he was also in the relationship and that if something happened to him, someone would be worried for him and be devastated.
Being carefree was good, and even if he wanted to be reckless, that was fine as well. However, there was a limit to it, and he might be in danger in return. Spade wanted the omega to know of his concerns and reservations.
What happened really made him scared, when he thought something had already happened to Arren while in the sea. He still wasn’t sleeping since yesterday. He was sure that Arren was already on the island, but he was still looking at the sea as though he wanted to dive there and search for Arren just to be sure.
If he really could search in the ocean, he would.
Now, his rut had come early from his uneasiness, frustrations, and even guilt.
He shut his eyes, waited for the omega that he wasn’t sure would come and at the same time suppressed his rut until it flared up.
Arren, the one Spade was waiting for, was already on the way back to the exact same place before they chased Mr. Ivo. He was focused this time, walking steadily and without stopping.
He wasn’t distracted by the attractions, and Spade was the only thing on his mind. For some reason, he really felt uneasy, which was why he was rushing himself.
This wasn’t because of nervousness; it was like something was wrong with Spade, and he couldn’t help worrying. He was already tired, but he maintained his pace despite the distance.
Not long after he arrived, he had yet to approach when someone stopped in front of him. Arren paused and raised a brow, he couldn’t recognize him at first since he was in beach attire but soon recognized him as one of the royal guards with them.
After all, wearing their formal attire on the beach, no less, was unnecessarily eye-catching.
"Young Master, His Majesty has been waiting for you in the car." He spoke without beating around the bush and led Arren, who had yet to say anything.
Arren also sensed that the matter seemed urgent, or the royal guard wouldn’t be in a rush. He followed him until he saw the parked white car on the side.
He didn’t let the royal guard tell him, as he knew immediately that Spade was in the car. The minute that he approached the car, he frowned and sniffed the air.
His heart pounded and paused for a moment. This smell... something wasn’t right with Spade’s pheromones. He took a few seconds to finally realize what it was, and his eyes widened.
Rut! No, this was a pre-rut.
He could smell it, as their connection had grown deeper even though they weren’t official mates and Spade hadn’t marked him yet. He was about to approach again when the car door opened, and he was startled as Spade’s heated gaze landed on him.
Their eyes met; both had unconcealed emotions in their eyes. However, the heavy gaze of the alpha was even more complicated. Arren immediately felt guilty seeing him like this.
This staring lasted for a few seconds, as though the time had stopped for them, and everything fell silent, including them. It was Spade who broke the moment between them.
"You’re not going in?" the alpha calmly asked, or at least he tried to. His voice was extremely hoarse and deep, which was rather scary to hear. And yet, instead of being afraid, Arren could only feel distressed.
The alpha was in a rut, which was triggered early, possibly because of him.
Arren bit his lips as they trembled before he nodded and approached the car, getting in it. He sat beside Spade; the alpha was only leaning in the seat while Arren didn’t know what to say to him.
He knew the gravity of what he did, and simply saying sorry wouldn’t cut it, and he felt like it wasn’t sincere enough, so he could only stay silent until the alpha opened their conversation.
Just like that, it was a deafening silence with intense pressure inside the car.
"Go back." Only two words were needed, and the car immediately started and left. Arren kept on glancing at Spade, who had his eyes closed, not saying anything.
Aen immediately deflated and slumped in the seat, leaning his head in the window. It was his fault now that the alpha was mad at him. He wanted to help now that he was in his rut, but he didn’t want to talk to him.
He was depressed and didn’t know what to do to appease his raging lover. He knew that he was mad, but actually seeing it and feeling the coldness of his treatment, Arren felt like crying.
Should he beg for forgiveness? Was that enough? No, definitely not.
The silence was killing him, and even the pressure emitting from the alpha made his confidence crumble. Spade’s mood was unstable at the moment because of his rut, and he shouldn’t incite him, but he didn’t want to let the situation continue.
A few minutes later, the suffocating pressure inside only increased. As he glanced at the alpha, who still had his eyes closed as if asleep, Arren couldn’t help but pursed his lips, and the corner of his eyes heated up.
His alpha didn’t want to look at him or talk to him anymore. He knew it was his fault; that was why he was like this, but... could he just look at him for a moment?
Arren didn’t take his gaze away from the alpha as he leaned his head in the seat, staring at Spade. However, even with all this, the alpha didn’t open his eyes and look at him.
He pursed his lips, extremely hurt. Arren opened his mouth, wanting to start the conversation instead, but every time he did, he could only close it again.
What should he say, ’sorry’, that was it?
Perhaps before, he was confident that if he said sorry, Spade would let him off and even coax him instead. At the moment, he was really not sure if the alpha would just forgive him like that.
The pheromones from Spade became thick, and even the way he breathed had noticeably slowed down. Arren knew the time that the alpha’s rut would arrive was only around the corner.
He wanted to help. so bad.
Only a long time later did he decide to be brave and take the initiative. He was always bold, but he was being careful this time because of the alpha’s state, and he was really in the wrong this time.
"Spade..." he muttered, low and extremely guilty.
And yet, there was no reaction from the alpha, and he was still in his position as though he didn’t hear Arren.
Arren didn’t give up and was about to call him again when the car stopped. And he had yet to react when Spade abruptly opened his eyes and got off the car without looking at him.
He blinked and was speechless.
He... ignored me. Arren mumbled inwardly.
