Chapter 137: Ivo

After looking at him, the man nodded and chuckled before drinking the juice. Arren observed him; he was also becoming interested in him. It seemed the man already knew his identity from long ago when he sat at this table.

The reason Arren boldly answered him was that he couldn’t sense any malicious intentions in him but only amusement. This good impression was definitely not because he treated him with food, not at all.

"Rest assured, I’m not insane enough to hostage His Majesty’s omega." He began eating again without saying anything again.

Arren raised an eyebrow, wanting to say something, but he stopped himself and also started to eat as well. None of them spoke; the noisy surroundings prevailed.

A few minutes after they were done, Arren was also satisfied. His mind spun, now that he had dinner, the next things he had to think about were where he should stay and a change of clothes. His clothes were already dry, and he wasn’t sure if he would be sick the next day because of it.

"Are you going to wait for someone to find you?" the man asked, curious.

Arren, who was leaning lazily on the chair, looked at the man again with this question. Honestly, he didn’t intend to wait at all. He wanted to have a good shower and then lie down and sleep. After playing around in the ocean, he was now exhausted. It was not because he was afraid to see Spade, not at all.

"Mister, what should I call you?" Instead of answering, he asked him. "It’s unfair that you know me, but I don’t know you," he reasoned, which was true.

The man nodded and was convinced.

"You can call me... Ivo."

Ivo... Arren repeated in his mind. He then nodded and said, "Mister. Ivo, can I trouble you to take me in for this night?" smiled as he said it without thinking.

It seemed impulsive, but there was no choice. Rather than waiting and sleeping outside, Arren would prefer sleeping in a hotel room, even with a stranger. As long as he wasn’t an alpha, he could be bold about it.

The man, Ivo, was again dumbfounded by how easily he requested this thing. Who knew if he was really a bad person? He looked at Arren, and suddenly, remembering a friend from a long time ago, he couldn’t help but chuckle. His gaze softened, and he agreed.

"It’s okay... I don’t mind."

Arren was delighted and almost jumped up and hugged Ivo from the other side. "Thank you, Mr. Ivo."

Seeing this, the amusement in Ivo’s eyes deepened before he somehow sighed inside.

Arren indeed resembled his mother; the way their eyes sparkled when they were delighted was the same.

The omega was oblivious to these thoughts as Arren finally sighed in relief that he wouldn’t sleep in the street or on the beach. After a while, he confirmed that Curt had already left, and he followed Mr.Ivo to where he was staying.

He stopped and looked at a small bungalow villa, it was comfortable to look at, and the few villas around had some distance too.

"Is it okay with you to stay here?"

Arren replied without hesitation, "Of course, why won’t it be okay? It’s extremely fine, Mr. Ivo." The way he answered was like he was afraid that the other wouldn’t be convinced that he was telling the truth.

Ivo shook his head, holding back his laughter, and let Arren inside.

The inside of the villa was clean, and even the design to cater to the aesthetic of the beach was making them feel relaxed and immersed, confirming that they were indeed on vacation.

"I have clothes here, although they’re a bit big for you, it will not be much." Ivo proceeded and went in one of the rooms and rummaged there, while Arren stood in the living room and didn’t follow him.

He was still a guest and shouldn’t be stepping into the personal space of the owner. No matter how shameless he was, he still knew this point.

"It’s fine, Mr. Ivo," he answered and remained standing. Mr.Ivo was an omega, which he already knew since they both didn’t wear any scent blockers and with physique alone it could be determined. Their builds were almost the same.

Ivo came out of his room, holding the clothes, and handed them to Arren. "It’s still new, don’t worry."

Arren took it, and he gratefully thanked the older man.

"Thank you so much. New or not, it’s fine with me. I’m not that sensitive to it."

Like he always was, he was still easygoing and accepted it before he went to the bathroom to shower for a bit again and changed his clothes. Finally, his body relaxed, which had already started to feel itchy.

Feeling refreshed, Arren returned to the living room, Mr.Ivo was not there. He roamed his eyes around, to find the elder omega. This villa was not big at all, and he could easily sweep his eyes over everything inside.

Sure enough, one of the rooms opened, and Ivo came out of it.

"I arranged this room for you. You can sleep here. Don’t worry, I’m here alone, so no one will bother you." Mr.Ivo gently instructed and approached Arren.

Arren blinked, the elder omega had already removed his hood, and his face was fully exposed to him. The burned scars that started from half of his right cheek and extended to his neck were clearly visible now.

Seeing that Arren was looking at his face, Ivo was still composed. "Are you bothered with it?" he asked, sitting on the couch.

He blinked and sat beside the elder omega, and shook his head.

"I’m not. I’ve seen far worse." He answered honestly, his voice was calm and yet somehow tired.

Arren was often in the hospitals before, so he saw a lot of patients being admitted with excessive injuries, as for scars, he wasn’t new to them. He also had a huge scar on his chest from his heart surgery in his past life.

Ivo shot up an eyebrow, surprised. He might be thinking about how the sheltered son of the Duke had seen worse injuries and scars before.

"Mr. Ivo, why are you helping me?" Arren asked, deciding not to continue with their topic about Mr.Ivo’s scar. He was aware that to have that scar, it must have a complicated history and even be a mental scar for the elder omega, and he didn’t want to pry about it.

At this moment, he was more interested in why he was helping him. It could be because of his status. That was hardly a reason, but in his case, he could sense that it wasn’t the entire reason. From what he could see, Mr.Ivo was also an aristocrat. Just his bearing alone revealed this point.

Arren was purely asking, though; he wasn’t suspicious of any ulterior motives. As strictly speaking, he was the one who approached the elder omega. He was even more thankful for this help, but even so, he was still curious about the reason.

Ivo seemed not surprised that he asked this; he smiled, but his eyes had a hint of melancholic nostalgia.

"It’s just that I am reminded of an old friend, she often helped me before," he started, staring straight into Arren’s eyes as he continued. "But... I never got to help her in return," he paused, Arren was also not interrupting; he sensed how Mr.Ivo’s voice was heavy as he recalled this old friend of his.

He smiled, but it didn’t reach his eyes. "You can say that... I’m still guilty after all these years."

Arren nodded and didn’t take his gaze off the elder omega. Not saying anything, but for some reason, Mr.Ivo’s eyes stared at him deeply. He could only understand that his friend indeed resembled him. His guilt might be too heavy for the elder omega to become like this.
