Chapter 241: Chapter 241 Pei the Big Bun (5)_1
Pei Yuan felt a little sorry for the young master, all hot and sweaty with his little face turning red from the sun, "Why not let him come in for some cool tea?"
"Any wolf that comes through the door!" Pei Qin glanced at her.
The servants urged Chang Yonglin to go home. Although the landlord had given permission for him to find Ms. Pei as a teacher, he didn’t expect the young master to be so earnest, waiting so painfully long! He also worried that if Pei Qin didn’t go back with the young master to the Chang Residence and stayed at their home instead, would he have to go help at the noodle stand again? Life suddenly seemed so bleak...
Landlord Chang saw the things Pei Qin had put together and seemed to not care much about them. Having the foresight to educate her siblings in reading and writing indicated her remarkable insight. Now that Pei Zongli and his stepmother had opened a silk fabric shop in the county town, he wanted to take this opportunity to show goodwill and curry favor with Pei Qin.
The Wang family had a greater chance, but being a large household with many businesses, they didn’t pay much attention to someone like Pei Qin. Landlord Chang thought he could scoop up an opportunity. After all, his grandson didn’t need to pursue officialdom; he was to inherit the family business. Spending some time learning from her, if he could learn something, great; if not, so be it. When his grandson came home, he would properly take him under his wing, with a teacher and the Store Manager to instruct him.
Having received confirmation, Chang Yonglin refused to go home unless Pei Qin came back with him. He didn’t like the maids and servants who always flattered him, nor the bearded, rigid old teacher. He enjoyed learning from Pei Qin, finding it both fun and interesting.
As the sky darkened, Chang Yonglin, with his chin propped on his hands, sat at the doorway, still refusing to leave. The servants tried to persuade him repeatedly but to no avail, so they started knocking on the door incessantly.
The knocking infuriated Pei Qin, and with a clang, she flung the door open, "If you can beat me, I’ll let you stay." She needed to practice her moves.
The two guards saw this and didn’t dare to move forward. Pei Qin was just a young girl, and they were all men. The young master had come to ask her to be a teacher, not to become their punching bag.
"Enough bullshit! Stop dilly-dallying!" Pei Qin cursed and launched a swift attack.
Startled, the two guards hastily dodged.
Over the past few days, Pei Qin had regained much of her martial prowess, and when it came to blows, the two guards could only take the hits.
Realizing Pei Qin was a skilled practitioner, they no longer underestimated her and seriously engaged her in combat.
But after dozens of moves, they realized Pei Qin’s attacks were too fierce. Her little fists seemed to lack force, but each punch that landed was painfully sharp, enough to take one’s breath away.
Chang Yonglin watched with wide eyes, his gaze shining with admiration.
Soon, after venting all her anger, the two guards lay on the ground, gasping for breath, with swollen noses and faces.
"You know martial arts!?" Chang Yonglin jumped over, looking at Pei Qin with admiration.
"It’s your guards who are too weak," Pei Qin retorted coldly.
The scorned guards couldn’t help but shed tears inside. They had never seen such a fierce and formidable young girl! Her appearance did nothing to hint at her ferocity!
Chang Yonglin was dragged into the house by Pei Qin, who then served him a bowl of cold noodles.
After eating, Chang Yonglin washed up and squeezed into a room to sleep with Pei Wendong.
One of the guards went home to report, bringing Chang Yonglin’s luggage and also conveyed how they had been beaten so badly by Pei Qin.
Landlord Chang was astounded and instructed the butler to take Chang Yonglin’s luggage and fifty taels of silver as a gift, delivering them personally to Taiping Town.
Pei Qin then chased Chang Yonglin off to the town school, "Even if you don’t pursue official positions, make sure you learn your books well!"
Chang Yonglin was obedient. He had already started his primary education, but since he didn’t need to aim for official titles, he wasn’t very diligent in his studies. Now he followed Pei Wendong to the school, paid the tuition, and began studying in town.
