Chapter 94: Chapter 94: Lost his unborn child

Inside Avery’s Apartment

With a frustrated grunt, Avery tossed Megan onto the living room sofa and stormed toward his bedroom without another word.

He shut the door behind him and collapsed onto the bed, the weight of everything crashing down on his chest. His eyes drifted to the wall—a framed photo of a woman smiling brightly, her warmth seemingly untouched by time.

"Piper..." he whispered, reaching a hand toward the image as if she could feel it. "I miss you... Why did you leave me? Can’t you come back?"

He stared at her face for a long agonizing moment. Then his gaze shifted to the small wooden table beneath the photo. A thin folder sat there—one he didn’t remember placing.

Frowning, Avery stood and picked it up. His heart skipped a beat.

A hospital file.

With trembling hands, he tore it open and pulled out the pages. His eyes scanned the first sheet, then the next... and then stopped, his eyes trembled as he saw the results.

Pregnancy Report.

His breath caught.

"...I... Impossible... H-How can this be?" His voice was barely a whisper.

He flipped to the next page, reading line after line. His hands began to shake. His knees buckled as the truth buried itself deep in his chest like a blade.

"No... no no no... you’re joking, right? G-God... is this your idea of a joke?!" His voice cracked, choked with grief.

Tears streamed down his face, dripping onto the paper, blurring the words.

’Pregnant my wife was pregnant, s she used to tell me she wanted to held her baby whenever born this was her wish.’

He stumbled backward, crashing into the wall and sliding down to the floor, clutching the file to his chest.

"...hahaha... joke... It’s a joke... hahahaha..."

His laugh was hollow and broken—more a sob than a laugh as tears were covering his face. the sound made by someone on the verge of a mental breakdown.

Purple mana churned like a storm around Avery body, whipping the curtains and rattling the furniture the room slowly become mess. His body absorbed it uncontrollably.

From deep within his mind, the demon’s panicked voice echoed sharply in his ear:

"Knight! Control your emotions! I order you—quickly! QUICKLYYYYIIIIYYYY!"

But Avery only laughed loudly bitterly .

"Haha... What are you saying? I’m just laughing... because it’s a damn joke! Hehe... HEHEHE!" His voice cracked with hysteria.

The purple mana surged violently, swirling into his veins, his eyes glowing dimly with its light. His body trembled from power his body is absorbing—and from pain and truth that he just got to know.

Demon Realm – Puppet Demon’s Castle

Far away in a floating red island, the blood-colored skies of the demon realm raining fire around some island places.

The Puppet Demon, seated upon his throne that is forged of bone and obsidian, suddenly convulsed his body twitching. With a furious snarl, he swiped his clawed hand through the air—slicing the red thread that was connected to his hand.

"HHHHEEEE!" he exhaled sharply, his breathing ragged as his shoulders rose and fell. Sweat dripped from his horned brow.

"Damn it!" he snarled. "Can’t he control his emotions even for a second so what if she was pregnant its just a child?!"

Arath, the demon seated casually beside him, raised an eyebrow, voice mocking.

"What happened now? Did your little puppet slip his strings?"

Puppet Demon’s eyes burned with fury as he glare at Arath.

"shut the fuck up, you cant understand when I tried to control him, his emotions spiraled out of control, I I was just little away to control him fully. Someone—or something—took advantage of it. My puppet power... it was nearly siphoned away."

Arath let out a low chuckle, leaning forward with a smirk.

"I warned you. The gods might not be able to descend there, but they always intervene in subtle ways. Your slave—he’s not in your control now. And if your spell got transferred into him..."

His grin widened.

"...Then your dream shatter just now right you cant make slave in that realm right hahahaha."

Puppet Demon clenched his fists, purple sparks crackling around him.

"No... my dream will come true. he is just little human and he consider church his enemy he will die before knowing the reason, then my power will automatically return to me."

----------------

Avery stumbled from the floor, his breathing was shallow as he stepped into the living room. The dim light cast long shadows across the living room, but his eyes instantly fell on Megan— laying quietly on sofa unconscious, unaware of what had just happened.

His gaze narrowed slightly.

The red thread. The same thread that had vanished when she accepted the pact—it shimmered faintly again Glowing and he could feel somehow he can control it.

His hand moved without much thought. He reached toward the loose end that floated in the air between them.

The moment he touched it, the thread reacted instantly—snapping onto his hand like it belonged there. The connection bound itself, a soft hum vibrating through his skin.

Avery stared at his palm. His brows furrowed. Somehow he could feel he can control her.

He dropped onto the couch looking at ceiling.

"I need to plan quickly. I can’t wait any longer to destroy them t they kill not only my wife b but also..."His fingers curled into a fist.

"The Church will fall every person will die who work for them."

one Month later - Earth Realm – Rooftop of the Mansion

Zara sat cross-legged in a patio chair atop the grand rooftop, her gaze tracing the glittering skyline of Earth’s capital. Skyscrapers pierced the clouds, and the wind gently rustling her hairs.

’It’s been a month since I arrived... and I still can’t believe how vast this realm is. So many things... I haven’t even scratched the surface.’

Suddenly—

"Guess who?"

Soft hands covered her eyes.

Zara smiled immediately, her heart recognizing the voice before her ears did.

"Wife, I’d know your voice anywhere."

Lilith pouted as she pulled her hands away and slipped into the seat beside her, arms crossed.

"Cheater. You didn’t even guess properly."

Zara laughed gently, brushing her fingers against Lilith’s.

"Your pout is so adorably. But... didn’t you say you were going shopping with grace? Why the sudden change?"

Lilith blinked, as if just remembering. "Oh! Right. I came to tell you something. Come with me."

Zara tilted her head curiously but followed. They descended the stairs and entered the luxurious living room of the Mansion.

As soon as they entered—

Zara’s eyes landed on a young woman with sleek black hair, lounging on the sofa with her arms folded and an unmistakable air of irritation.

Zara’s brows rose in shock."Wha—What are you doing here?"

The girl turned, made eye contact... then scoffed and looked away with an exaggerated hmph.

Lilith leaned in, arms crossed, clearly annoyed.

"See? That’s what I wanted to show you. She came out of nowhere and declared she’s going to live here now."

Zara scratched her head, looking from Lilith to the girl clearly confused.
